Both the aircraft and the engine manufacturers will want to investigate this crash. So I can't see the Russian's denying them access to the site without it reflecting on Russia as trying to cover up the reason for the crash. jmo

Wouldn't Malaysia demand the Russians turn over the black box? Even if Russia claims they did not shoot down the aircraft there would still be too much doubt in Malaysia's mind that Russia can not be counted out as responsible. jmo
Investigation of the black box falls on the country/state of where it is found.
