'Dutch frustration with Russia in the wake of the MH17 crash is taking on an increasingly personal note, as some called for Vladimir Putin's daughter to be deported from the Netherlands.

Pieter Broertjes, the mayor of the city of Hilversum, used a radio interview on Wednesday morning to call for 29-year-old Maria Putin, who is said to live in Voorschoten with her Dutch boyfriend, to be thrown out of the country.

More than half of the 298 people killed when the Malaysia Airlines plane crashed in eastern Ukraine last week were Dutch.

Broertjes later apologised for his remarks via Twitter, saying they were "not wise", but adding that "they stemmed from a feeling of helplessness that many will recognise". '

I was watching CNN report this, this morning, and the reporter said more had been abducted, including a cameraman, others had been detained and/ or questioned by the rebels since the crash.. .will find links...

Here,

RT stringer among 4 people taken hostage in besieged Ukraine’s Donetsk – report

This may be why the rebels allowed journalists into the crash site, give them a false sense of security and then abduct them. What do they want from it?

This has been a tragic event followed by continuing frustrations that are present in the area where the inspectors and teams need to get access to the crash site. Please take all political "unnecessary" comments down to the political thread in the private forum. They do not belong here. So let's try to be respectful of all victims, including the politicians who represent them at this time.

Let's hope it just a story.

Seems that they suspect Ukraine security forces took (at least) some of them. Ukraine denies this. :dunno:

And it wouldn't be the first time, if Ukraine has detained them.

"Phillips had previously been held by Ukrainian authorities for 36 hours in May and then later released."

Laughable, truly laughable..

I must be missing something here. Exactly WHO held weapons on WHOM? Who paraded around in quasi-military uniforms with those weapons? Who had a photojournalist crouched on the ground with said weapons pointed at him? I wish I could provide this link, it was early on, perhaps the second day. I'm a Luddite, can one of you youngsters help find the photo?

Sorry Intermezzo, I meant the declaration from the pro-Russian separatists who were intimidated by the fierce OSCE members.

Here is some MSM about today's resignation (weren't they having a physical punch-up in parliament a few days ago?) ...

"Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has announced his resignation following turmoil in government.

Yatsenyuk made the announcement from the dais of the parliament after two parties said they would pull out of the governing coalition. “I am announcing my resignation in connect with the collapse of the coalition,” Yatsenyuk said.

He said the parliament could no longer do its work and pass necessary laws."

I also read somewhere else (about the January resignation) that if the Prime Minister there resigns, his whole govt has to resign.

Now what will happen to the rescue operation? The entire Ukrainian Government, including the Prime Minister, just resigned.

But it's the government that just agreed to let the search teams in so......?

Another tweet about it from CNN. No stories up yet.

I guess they still have President Poroshenko ... who the foreign diplomats seem to be liaising with anyway.

And I just read this too ...

"Under the Ukrainian Constitution, the Parliament chooses the prime minister, and members must vote to accept a resignation. It was not immediately clear if Mr. Yatsenyuk’s announcement meant he was leaving the government or if relinquishing the prime ministership was a symbolic step."

I've seen the Red Cross guys there on the news, with only one mission, to protect bodies still there. I guess as it became clear not as many was recovered as first thought, and since they have only just themselves classed it as a war zone, it now hits our fundamental principles. This was a very spilt topic at work today, many think those teams are needed to protect and help the living that are suffering in the surrounding area, that the site doesn't need more people walking around before a proper full investigation team. Maybe they know that is never going to happen? It's a hard one for sure.

My hopes are only that all are safe and they know how proud their society is of their bravery and work.
