Yet as of now investigators have found no medical records or anything thus far with such a diagnosis for him.
They also seem to agree, as said above by the mayor, that his goal was the NFL HQ but he took the wrong elevator bank.
Mental health issues have been mentioned. My understanding is CTE can only be diagnosed post mortem.Yet as of now investigators have found no medical records or anything thus far with such a diagnosis for him.
If you're cognizant enough to apologize and blame your actions on a CTE you are cognizant enough to not be a murderer. Just cowardly and evil. JMO.
I am no fan of the Mayor, but I was touched how he opened last night's presser with comments about Officer Islam. The Mayor stood up for him being an immigrant who came to our city and provided service. Rest in peace, Officer. And sincere condolences to his family. I heard on a local radio station (WNYC) that the city's Bangladeshi community as well as the NYPD community are comforting the family."NYC Mayor orders flags lowered to half-staff
Mayor Eric Adams
ordered all flags on city buildings to be lowered to half-staff to honor the victims of Monday's mass shooting.
'As a mark of respect for the memory of NYPD Officer Didarul Islam who died in the line of duty and the multiple victims of the mass shooting in Midtown Manhattan at 345 Park Avenue yesterday,
I’ve ordered all flags on all city buildings and stationary flagstaffs throughout the five boroughs
to be lowered to half-staff until further notice'."

NYC shooter had ASSOCIATE who'll now be questioned by NYPD
New York City police are headed to Las Vegas to question an associate who sold Midtown Manhattan shooter Shane Tamura gun parts that he used to to kill for people during Monday's rampage.www.dailymail.co.uk
I recently watched a documentary on Aaron Hernandez ( professional football player) and learned about the post-mortem "definitive diagnosis". The documentary included two more football players. Although, in Hernandez case, drugs and other stuff, may have played a roll, I wonder what caused what first?"The definitive diagnosis of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)
can only be made after death,
through a postmortem neuropathological examination of the brain.
While living individuals can be diagnosed with
'suspected' or 'probable CTE'
based on their history, symptoms, and by ruling out other conditions,
a definitive diagnosis requires examining brain tissue under a microscope."

There was a doctor on Brian Leher's show this morning who mentioned that an autopsy would be needed for a diagnosis, though there have been improvements in finding indications of CTE before that point. So not sure ST would actually have a "diagnosis" of CTE.![]()
Manhattan shooting latest: Gunman mentioned CTE, appeared to target NFL
The 27-year-old man who shot and killed four people at a Midtown office building on Monday carried a note in his pocket, police sources told ABC News.abcnews.go.com
In this article, the murderer does complain about CTE, says he’s “sorry,” and does request they study his brain.
Yet as of now investigators have found no medical records or anything thus far with such a diagnosis for him.

It made me think that, contact sports athletes should be somehow "medically monitored" during and after their career.
All tragic losses...

I can’t believe he is casually walking holding an assault weapon, how did he get past security at the entrance?

He double parked outside the building, walked across that plaza, entered the lobby and killed security. Probably happened in 60 seconds or so.I can’t believe he is casually walking holding an assault weapon, how did he get past security at the entrance?
SnippedHe was wearing a bulletproof vest according to the link I posted earlier, and he shot himself in the head, so it definitely appears that his plan was to kill his perceived enemies and then himself, as he did.
IMO
Mangione hid his identity and planned to escape, and had a reasonable expectation of doing so (for a while).Seems so similar to Mangione.
That's the movie I mentioned in my post. It was about the book. I did not find it to be particularly well done. It left out so much. There was also a great film "Concussion"
(starring Will Smith)
about micro-shocks and head injuries of athletes and lethal consequences
(brain degeneration
suffered by professional football players.)
