Reports of an #active shooter inside 44 story skyscraper in midtown Manhattan, located at 345 Park Avenue. Source told me multiple people shot. 911 calls being made from 32 Floor. Shooter armed with rifle and wearing bulletproof vest.

A police officer is among the people shot at 345 Park Avenue in NYC. The officer and at least one civilian were moved to local hospitals. 345 Park Avenue, which is home to many prominent companies like the NFL and Blackstone, is evacuating the skyscraper.

As I write this, it would be 7:12PM in NYC, so the building would not have been as full as it was a few hours earlier.

This is scary.

Hoping this comes to an end asap before anyone else gets hurt (except the shooter, he can take several bullets for me)

Same. There is a photo on twitter of the perp (unconfirmed) who is wearing a suit and carrying a big gun on a plaza outside a building. Terrifying to see in the city.

Seems like the perp is still in building and people are inside.

EDITED: I now see people are saying suspect is down.

Are people sure the perp is down?

I worked in 345 from 2008-2012 and in Seagram (375 Park, directly across 52nd) from 2022-2024. This shooting happened in between. This is banking and NFL central, just a couple blocks from a big NYPD hub and at the spot of the Four Seasons restaurant, famous for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ adoration among so many others. Surprising location. That building was still full of IB analysts and football operations guys at 7 PM.

That's just what I was thinking. People in offices in NYC don't leave at 5pm. (I didn't when I worked in corporate.)

A police officer and at least two other people were shot and killed — and several others injured — by a crazed gunman who stormed a swanky Midtown skyscraper early Monday evening — before turning the gun on himself, sources said.

The man barged into the 44-story building — which houses Blackstone and the NFL headquarters — armed with a rifle and opened fire at around 6:30 p.m., law enforcement sources told The Post.

Cnn seems to be reporting something different

One civilian shot is in critical condition, according to a law enforcement official. Another civilian and the NYPD officer, who was shot in the back, are both expected to survive, the official told CNN. The NYPD bomb squad is on the scene
