I was trying to find the name of the responding ambulance service to see if they would by chance have the missing purse or recall seeing who picked it up. It's a long shot, but it's possible.

Not driven by ambulance. Airlifted. No name listed by which agency, but possibly AirEvac Services. They had a base at Casa Grande Regional Med. Center and at Sky Harbor Int'l Airport. Website just says "website under construction".

FMW indicated that we might be released a copy of the state sponsored photos of KTL, I believe.

I am happy to send an email with the composites unless someone else has done it...

Hi believe! If you don't mind, could you? I know it's a long shot, but you never know. Maybe the same people own it or manage it still.....

I believe the email for the Extended Suites was in this thread a few pages back but I'm not sure. The link to the composites should also be there. I'm really busy at work right now, otherwise I'd do it.

Ok. That number was busy but I called another company to ask some general questions. I was told no personal affects go in the helicopter due to space limitations, so a purse would definately not have gone to a hospital with a trauma patient if that patient were airlifted. There is only room for patient, crew (pilot, flight paramedic, and flight nurse) and medical equipment. She also said they are called to an accident scene by EMS. I asked her if LE can call for airlift, and she said EMS evaluates the patients condition at the scene, and decides if air transport is necessary. (should I take that as a no?) I asked if all the medevac companies operate in the same manner and she said yes as far as she knew. Truthfully, I'm not sure how I was going to appraoch the subject if the line had been open. Someone on here a little more phone savvy that could try the number again? See if they have record of what EMS agency called for MJD if it's the right company? I'll try it again if I don't get any volunteers but I'm not very good on the phone. I tend to start stuttering around lol. And can someone please please pretty please send me a copy of LE report? I would really like to read it.

I have a thought on where the purse may have gone. My sister was in a near fatal accident years ago. We had to go pick her purse up from the ambulance shed. It may be stored with whatever ambulance company that transported her to the hospital. Also, if the fire department responded too, they may have it. My sister was a crack junkie and lived on the streets most of the time because when my parents would let her come home, she'd steal from them to get drugs. What I found most bizarre is that when we retrieved her purse from the ambulance company, it still had crack in it. They had never even opened it up.

Hmmmm.....that's a good idea. I don't know how to go about finding out if it is still in the storage barn but I'd be glad to call around if anyone can tell me who/etc.
Ah I see you have been calling around. Give me the numbers and info and I'll do my best.

I suggested emailing or faxing the composite to the hotel, but I hadn't done it. My schedule is no more important than anyone else's so I won't make excuses.

Here is the text of what I sent:

To Whom It May Concern,

I came across your website while doing some research regarding a young unidentified girl who was allegedly picked up on East Van Buren in January 1999, and then either pushed or fell from a moving vehicle on I-10 at 75 mph. She died the next day before she could recover enough to state her name. Subsequent investigations brought to light the fact that she was between 13-15 years of age, was possibly working as a prostitute on East Van Buren, and may have been associated with a known pimp by the name of KTL. KTL was known to traffic in very young girls, yet he claimed to have no knowledge of the Jane Doe. The individuals in the vehicle with her were clients of your hotel, AF and LDJ. I actually obtained the information regarding your hotel from an envelope photographed inside of the vehicle that was being driven by your former residents.

My hope is that someone either in currently working at your residence or a former employee might have an idea of who this child is. She was beautiful even in death, and deserves to be returned to those who have loved and lost her. I have included attachments of composite photos. Her case has been recently viewed with fresh eyes by law enforcement, and I am hoping that enough time has passed so that others who knew her might be willing to ID her.

I work for a non profit organization called XXXXXXXX. XXXXXXXX is a non profit organization established to support families of the missing. We are a project of XXXXXXXXX, and a 501(c)(3) located out of XXXXXX, XX. We are a special group that works with missing and unidentifieds all over the country. We partner with families and law enforcement, and you can get a sense of this organization by going to view the website XXXXXXXX. What you see on the website is simply the tip of the iceberg. We work with the XXXXXXXX, the XXXX, we participate in the Department of Justice initiative to get the DNA of the missing into central databases, we keep stories alive in the media and we support law enforcement any way we can. We are foot soldiers.

Please let me know at your earliest convenience if there is a chance you can help to restore our Jane Doe her proper name.

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
Believe09

I sent the photos we agreed on-I will let you know if I hear from them....

FMW was kind enough to send me the LE report. The responding EMS was Gila River Indian Community Rescue Services. The names of the responding medics are listed there too. Gila River EMS lists 4 locations on their website, I'm not familiar with Arizona, so I'm not sure which base would have responded. Contact phone # is 520-562-5172.

OMG what IF IF IF her identification was in that purse and LE completely blew it!

Sorry, I haven't been around in a while. Class issues and such.

Kind of. A neighborhood man told a detective that he had seen her several times, with a man who's car matched Alonzo's car. Now the witness was color-blind so he couldn't give a color of the car, but the vintage, model and wheels (non-stock spoke rims) was a match - unless her pimp (someone OTHER than Alonzo) had a similiar car.

That's pretty much a definite possibility. Cadillac is pretty synonymous with pimps, thugs, and ghetto rats around here (Phoenix, AZ). And that doesn't even include the wannabes. lol

From the photos it looks as if they were moving. The tan suitcase looking thing, as well as the white hamper one of the shoes is sitting on in one of the photos. I immediately recognized it as a hamper, because I have the same exact one, and have used it numerous times when moving rather than packing my clothes in boxes.

// heavy edit
If you read what I previously had here, disregard it; there are 2 mile marker 173's and I was getting them confused. One is along route 60 not far from the I-10/60 change over, and another is further south along I-10. The 2nd one I believe is the one they're talking about that they found her at. Being along this route discredits the possibility of going to Miami, AZ. Miami, AZ is about an hour east along route 60, they would've had to double back to the 60 changeover from where they were at.
Thanks Vash for the police report. :D

Ok (yea I'm getting as bad as Phenol w/ these multiple posts :P), I went digging through the Phoenix Public Library websites. I needed my card # and last name to access the news databases they pay for, and I managed to find AZ Republics original story from Jan 30, 1999.

I printed it out and saved the text to file, am I allowed to re-post it? It has all the proper citations and everything. You need a valid Phx Public library card to access the information, but otherwise it's public knowledge.

I'll post back or edit this one if I find any thing else.

I just finished reading the report "cover to cover" and the only thing that struck me, other than the things already pointed out, is where the guy at the dealership said that he recognized the "man from tv" as being a man who was arguing with 2 girls, one slender, one chubby. When asked when this 'argument' took place, he said it was on the same day he saw him on tv.

If he's referring to Alonzo's interview with Fox, that was aired on Thursday, Jan 28, 1999 (it's posted on the AZ Republic news article) - after MJD was already deceased. Since he said the argument was witnessed the same day he saw him on tv, it couldn't have been MJD. If anything the 2nd girl may have been that Monica girl that was briefly mentioned.

I thought about this, too. I wonder if he was referring to Alonzo's interview and not someone else's. I'm pretty sure he was referring to Alonzo though. you're right she would have been deceased by that time. That LE report is easy to misinterpret. For the longest time I thought LDJ was saying that MJD hung around the wrong type of people.. but reading through it again it was a defense on LDJ's behalf saying SHE (LDJ) hung around the wrong type of people and that SHE had only been in Phoenix for two months. So I was thinking wow.. she had that much info on MJD and didn't know her name?! But then I slapped myself in the face after I re-read it. Duuuhh.. :bang:

The report is a little confusing sometimes. I took it to mean, that he had seen the argument the same day that he (Alonzo) was on tv later in that day - the argument taking place around 1pm, which would have been an hour before the accident. We've only read about the KSAZ interview that was on tv on Thursday; there may have been a news story with photos that day (Tuesday) or even on another channel that he may have been referring to.

EDIT
The detective I talk to also thinks it may have been KL... Now are you confused enough?

I see what you're saying now. I had to read that about 5 times before it made sense in my head. lmao

Hell, he probably could've been saying he saw Elvis arguing with Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan. o_O

That's a real big important Duuuhhh too! You could be right. After all, the officer was writing what Lindsey was saying, which may not have been direct quotes! And the report has Alonzo saying that they had been staying the motel (Crossland) for the last 2 months...

So maybe MJD is from the Phoenix area after all. Or one of the other 49 states...
