The shoulders are REALLY doing it for me. They both are rounded and down sloping in the exact same way. (Even from what you can see of the mugshot, they look the same).

They had the house roped off, so they may have gone thru it and it just wasnt shown. I just remember seeing videos the first several days when they would show the mobile home and the trash by the steps in the trash cans and on the ground right by the cans and thinking they need to go thru that. I remember the trash cans because they were by the front door not the back door so trash was taken out the front door probably, they were overflowing, and there was a beer box on the ground next to the cans.

I don't think we're dealing with a drunken perpetrator, myself. If he managed to enter the locked mobile home, prowl around the kitchen and kidnap a child from next to an adult without waking anyone up, he hasn't drunk a box of beers, IMO.

Who is reportedly not cooperating with the authorities?

Who has been referred to as "the key" to this investigation?

Who cannot provide a solid timeline?

02/09/2009 at approx 1100 hrs, a lone robber held up the Wachovia Bank on Deltona Blvd in Deltona.

That's Monday.

Keep it simple. Start where HaLeigh was last verified as being seen and wait there until it makes sense.

Whoah- that's even worse! I was so flabbergasted by this theory that my head was spinning as I read through the date.


Hmmmmmmm rob a bank, basically get away with it, then head up north about 80 miles in the middle of the night to steal some random child? If he pulled this off he sure is a lucky guy.

Getting away with robbing a bank and then just happening upon a mobile home, a couple miles off a main road with a child supposedly in bed with a teenager and another child who never woke up while he snuck in there. Then leaving nary a clue as to his presence in that home.


I want to know what lottery numbers this guy is playing.

A sex crimes investigator said Mauricio Reyes, 46, broke into the girl’s home through the sliding back door, grabbed the girl, bound her with duct tape and then took her to the garage.

Reyes then took a pair of her mother’s high-heeled shoes from a closet near the garage before locking the girl in the garage with him.

Back in 2007, authorities said Reyes did the same thing, except the girl was 8 years old. She screamed and her mother ran him off.

He also has a history of prowling and loitering. Authorities said he would masturbate in front of people’s windows.

Looks like the same guy to me. Has anyone called this tipline and alerted them to check the pic's of him at the bank and at the store? To also bring it to someone's attention that the robbery happened the same day Haleigh went missing?

Sometimes we can't assume that because they are LE they have put 2 and 2 together yet.

Thanks for the clarification, Atherella. What is his connection to HaLeigh, though?

Maybe something... maybe nothing.

However, he is a man who's MO is to wear all black, and remove little girls from their home and have his way with them.

He lives in FL not far from HaLeigh.

With his history, he is someone that needs to be looked at. He was NOT on the Sex Offender registry, despite his history (I have no idea why), so he easily could have been overlooked by LE.

EVERY possible lead needs to be followed up on, IMO. Having tunnel vision will NOT help HaLeigh.


ETA -- the thread has a lot of information that puts it all together. I can't really summarize everything in one post. I'm sure I've missed information. SS has done a lot of great research.
