One hour and 20 minutes from Satsuma a bank robbery occurs that looks like this guy on video and it just happens to have taken place on the same day Haleigh went missing. The guy that attempted to abduct a 4 yr. old girl coincidentally looks like the guy in the bank robbery video.

LE needs to take a real long look at this guy.

Check this out. This bank robbery happened the same day Haleigh went missing at 11:00am in Deltona, FL. The photo from the bank and the photo of Reyes at the store look very similar and the descriptions match, too.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONOn 02/09/2009 at approx 1100 hrs, a lone robber held up the Wachovia Bank on Deltona Blvd in Deltona. Witnesses said that the suspect walked into the bank and handed a stick-up note to a teller. The teller complied with the robber’s demand and turned over an undetermined amount of money. The suspect, who didn’t display a weapon, then fled the bank with the money. No one was injured in the robbery. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male believed to be in his late 40’s with a medium build and dark hair. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, a red hat and had a white bandage on the right side of his neck and face.

Atherella, after going back to read, I see where my confusion entered: SeriouslySearching first made a connection between Reyes and a bank robber. I will stand with what I said earlier, then.....What does a bank robber and Reyes have to do with HaLeigh?

While the general MO of this person COULD fit the Haleigh case, it sure sounds like he was far more bumbling and clumsy about the whole thing than would fit the scenario with Haleigh. He blew a house intrusion BEFORE Haleigh's disappearance, and then he blew another one AFTER her going missing....what would make him go back to breaking in through a window and getting caught AFTER he had so successfully bumped a locked door leaving no evidence, fingerprints, DNA, or other forensic evidence in the Cummings home. Did he decide that he had done TOO GOOD OF A JOB there and want to go back to screwing things up???

They sleuthed Mauricio out in the Forensic Astrology forum too when he was caught in May http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80612&page=25 and it says they're working on his chart if anyone's interested in that sort of thing.

Wow. I've never heard of someone kidnapping a child in the middle of the night and following it up with a bank robbery a few hours later.

Rather implausible IMO.

Who had access to the child?

Who is reportedly not cooperating with the authorities?

Who has been referred to as "the key" to this investigation?

Who cannot provide a solid timeline?


That's where we need to be looking.

Also, I just can't shake that Tim Miller with Eqqusearch said that this was not what it seems. And at the time it was generally seen to be a stranger abduction.

Yes, but that was my point, first of all I don't believe that his MO is to actually TAKE the child with him. Second of all, why would he develop such precise and successful skills as it took to supposedly abduct Haleigh and then not use them weeks later when he attempted to molest the next child???

LOL.... I dunno....but according to at least one poster here, the person who took Haleigh drank a whole box full of beer while taking Haleigh. So, I guess a few cans at the next house wouldn't have bothered him too much! Oh...and after drinking the beer he apparently was very environmentally conscious and took the box to the trash can!!!

I'll try to explain this one more time really clearly and hopefully we'll be on the same page. If not, maybe someone else can help. If not, hopefully LE will take a look at him, because he deserves a look, IMO.

M. Reyes has a history of stealing little girls out of their homes and harming them.

Whether or not M. Reyes is a bank robber is irrelevant to anything else, other than the fact that it will just add on to his list of crimes. It will make him a more accomplished criminal!

This man lives in FL, not far away from HaLeigh. (Within the same distance as her mother)!

This man, with a history of stealing little girls out of their homes, was not on the sex offender registry, so LE could have easily overlooked him.

M. Reyes should be looked at, and at least cleared given his history of stealing children out of their homes.

I agree he should be looked at carefully. However, I also am of the belief that if we are able to see the possibility of a connection, then so are the various LE agencies involved in BOTH of these cases. Contrary to what is sometimes unfortunately implied by some, LE are intelligent, concerned and well-intentioned people. They sincerely WANT to find Haleigh or find who harmed her. I am more than confidant that they have explored all angles of this possible connection, and if there is any relevant aspect, they are probably finished with both questioning this individual and also clearing his information with his known whereabouts on Feb. 9/10th.

Hmm. Well said. Then I have some more questions. Why would he go to Satsuma, off in the middle of nowhere, and happen upon one of the only little girls in a particular MH park? What makes HaLeigh so special to this perp that he'd drive the nearly 2 hours to her town to get her? How did he find out about her? The closest to Satsuma he ever lived was in Orange Park, near Jxnville. Seems a little far-fetched to assume he'd make another perp call in this little known place with an unknown family in an unremarkable mobile home in an unremarkable MH park.

I see that he's taken the children, but he has never gone far with them, and seems that he's more a fetishist than a molester. He took objects as well as the children. Makes me think that his predilection is more toward the object and the child is just used as an audience. Sick and wrong, you bet. But doesn't seem to fit what happened to HaLeigh, since she's still gone 4 months later.

From what we've discussed on other threads, it doesn't sound like the object that may or may not be missing (jury is still out on that, since no one can agree) is clothing related. The concensus seems to be some medical device for HaLeigh.

So no LE or media reports have discussed this man in reference to this particular case? Why is he being sleuthed upstairs then? Would that not be for downstairs? I am confused Tom's Girl. Can you help me out?
