Well I guess we now know which officer did not submit a statement. That plus the unannounced stop really looking bad.

This is info is a real game changer...funny how local Baltimore news didn't report this..

The driver made a second stop, five minutes later, and asked an officer to help check on Gray.

An Officer? Where did this officer come from? Was the officer riding in the van or was the officer in another patrol car that met the van at the unreported stop? Did the officer ride in the back of the van with freddie to the station or did the officer get out after they assisted the driver.?

Was wondering if FG had a syrinx due to a craniocervical junction abnormality. We have no medical data, but we've seen a lot of patients with this and often a relatively minor event can trigger it. Early on we were suspicious but the original report from the media didn't jive.

From ABC7: “… the medical examiner found Gray’s catastrophic injury was caused when he slammed into the back of the police transport van, apparently breaking his neck; a head injury he sustained matches a bolt in the back of the van.”

Law enforcement sources said Gray sustained head injury that matches bolt in back of police van: local ABC

Dang I'm so confused....I guess what will be really critical is the info from the van.

Local news is now reporting it. I wonder how this will turn out for the city of Baltimore. There is a march planned at 4 from North Ave to City Hall today.

Until Dr Drew, Dr Phil, Dr Ablow and Dr Oz weigh in on the spinal injury, I am just not going to be satisfied.

Even a bump to the head could cause such an injury. If he had a congenital anomaly as described above, it could be devastating. Hope it was a good and thorough medical examiner. But thanks all for the info, I'll discuss this again with my MD consult.

Whatever happened it was during that 2nd undisclosed stop imo. The next stop is when he was picked up off the floor and put back into the seat.

Kinda odd. This investigation was tight. Not even a rumor about what was going on. Then suddenly last night and today there is suddenly info.

My guess the van driver has already been told they will be charged. They made sure to get their side in the news.

Reportedly LE sources are not only talking to media, they are providing documentation. I think the purpose of that is to dribble the info out before an official announcement. Thus hopefully reducing the impact.

Detectives say the police van picked up Gray after he ran from police. They then made one stop previously known to officers, but made another stop that police said today they did not learn about until investigating the case further. From that second stop, they made another stop before making a fourth stop to pick up another prisoner. They then went to the police station, according to Deputy Commissioner Kevin Davis, who headed the Baltimore Police Department's investigation of the case.

I still have questions about the reported tracheal injury. If he had a tracheal injury bumping his head doesn't explain that IMO. Of course we don't know if there really was a tracheal injury.

I wish someone would leak the autopsy report.

[h=3]Latest on police-custody death: Store owner talks of video[/h]The store owner, who speaks Korean, told The Associated Press that two police officers visited his store during the week of April 20 and later made a copy of the surveillance video.

Jung Hyun Hwang says he did not review the video with police and he didn't know what was on it. He says his original recording was on a laptop that was stolen during the riots and looting Monday night.

[h=1]Sheriff: ‘I Was Sick To My Stomach’ After Being Told To Stand Down[/h]
“I was sick to my stomach like everybody else. … This was urban warfare, no question about it. They were coming in absolutely beaten down. The [city officers] got out of their vehicles, thanked us profusely for being there, apologized to us for having to be there. They said we could have handled this, we were very capable of handling this, but we were told to stand down, repeatedly told to stand down,” he said. “I had never heard that order come from anyone — we went right out to our posts as soon as we got there, so I never heard the mayor say that. But repeatedly these guys, and there were many high-ranking officials from the Baltimore City Police Department … and these guys told me they were essentially neutered from the start.

That's kinda ironic. The riot was supposedly to get justice for Freddie Gray. Yet the riot took crucial info that may help explain what happened.

I do too. Possibly a tracheal injury could occur during intubation or extubation. But we all know it could also occur during whatever traumatic event he suffered. I am praying that everything was examined and reexamined and that they had their best person(s) on the case. We just need the truth. Maybe they should install cams in the back of the police vans.

“I heard it myself over the Baltimore City police radio that I had tethered to my body-armor vest, I heard it repeatedly. ‘Stand down, stand down, stand down! Back up, back up, retreat, retreat!’ I couldn’t believe those words. Those are words I’ve never heard in my law enforcement vocabulary,” he said.
