Says husband's political future can be greatly impacted, either for the better or the worse, based upon her investigations.
Her hubby is the Councilman for the district it happened.
That's an excellent letter up to the last paragraph. But they should never have threatened her husband's career. At least not in writing. Pointing out the connections and asking for a special prosecutor was a strong letter. But the letter lost credibility when they included a political threat. Made him look more like a bully..

Agreed. Correct me if I'm wrong... but to charge with murder there must be solid evidence, right ? Because if this prosecutor charges these six with insufficient evidence--- couldn't these cops walk ? Not saying they should--if they're guilty.
But, ALL SIX of them ?
And what about the interior of the police van being 'smooth' ; and without visible bolts ?
This case is baffling.
MOO
I didn't take that as a threat. They are clearly listing all the connections she has and outlining how those could be construed as a conflict of interest if she continues as prosecutor. And, in all truth, her husband's political career could be affected - if they are found guilty - overwhelming re-election; not guilty - could cost him his "job".
That's just the way I took it......
JMHO

Here are the official charges according to this link: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/ma...e-gray-mosby-presser-0502-20150501-story.html
Officer Caesar Goodson Jr., 45, second-degree murder, manslaughter, second-degree assault, two vehicular manslaughter charges and misconduct in office.
Officer William Porter, 25, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Lt. Brian Rice, 41, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Sgt. Alicia White, 30, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Officer Edward Nero, 29, second-degree assault and misconduct in office.
Officer Garrett Miller, 26, second-degree assault, misconduct in office and false imprisonment.
Only the driver, Officer Goodson, was charged with lesser-included offenses, which is quite common in criminal cases where the facts fit multiple criminal offenses. Other officers were charged with involuntary manslaughter, not both. MOO.
Well, this should stop all rioting , right?
Something tells me that's wishful thinking but in a perfect world.
I'm very surprised at the murder charge.
BBM ^^
Wondering why Porter and White would be subject to less max time than Rice. Is it because he is of higher rank or bc of his poss role in initiating the arrest without prob cause to begin with? Anyone know?
<snip>
If convicted of all charges, Goodson would face up to 63 years in prison. Rice would face up to 30 years and Porter, Nero, Miller and White would face up to 20 years.

This might stop them for a while. Until it gets to court. What happens if she can't convict?
He also said he doesn't like to comment on ongoing investigations. umm
Think of what the State Attorney is dealing with...protests destroying the city, the ilks of Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson inciting, the media presence, the White House weighing in, her husband is a councilman for the community, first big case she's been awarded as SA and her career is short...makes one go, hmmmm.
I am troubled by the conduct of LE, if this is indeed true. The sad thing, according to SA, the one that didn't break the law was the victim and he paid the ultimate price. Stunning when you think of it.
They do not know exactly what happened to cause his death is what I understand. Other than having no seat belt.Has she given a theory of the crime? Who did what? Has she determined when the injury occured? Has she overcharged on anyone who did not cause injury but only failed to take action?
I have never seen somebody be charged with both murder and manslaughter. Also, they are charging people with both manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter??
