The SA met with the Gray family yesterday evening per a tweet I posted. So, she must have made up her mind yesterday... the ME's report wasn't finished and submitted until this am around 9:30.

I heard they haven't located the 6th officer. I am hoping it isn't Rice.

I don't know what to believe: did the officers commit criminal acts and that is why Mr. Gray died? did the ME actually change his COD to homicide after a meeting? Did the prosecutor file charges against the officer to avoid a total meltdown in Baltimore? I just don't know.

I bet there was outside pressure from very powerful places, you know from folks that "don't want to comment on an ongoing investigation". Evil!

I'm curious as to how many white people have died in the custody of LE in Baltimore. I don't think that this is just AA being harmed or killed by police. Maybe the police, white as well as black, could be roughing up people they arrest whatever race.

My husband lost a brother after he was arrested for DUI. He was arrested and put into the paddy wagon and taken to jail. Next morning he was discovered dead on his bunk with severe head trauma to the back of his head. Police decided it was due to a fall from his bunk. Ruled accidental, case closed. I did not know my husband at the time but met him shortly after this happened. Curious person that I am, I started asking questions. I was having a hard time with the "falling out of his bunk" theory put forth by LE. The trauma was on the back of his head and he also suffered multiple contusions all over his body. And, how do you just fall out of your bunk and land on the back of your head? Also, how did he get back into the bunk after such a horrendous fall? There was a man in the next cell who "saw nothing, heard nothing". This man later told my husband that LE had beaten his brother to death but that he would never agree to testify because he was told the same thing would happen to him.

Prosecutor refused to investigate the case and it remains closed.

This happened in the 70's. My would-have-been brother-in-law was a white man and the officers were also white.

Thank-you for sharing that, how awful. It seems that some people just won't accept the fact that some cops are bad and do cause harm or death to people. Why would there be charges such as these, if the cops didn't do anything wrong? Well then, what happened? Did FG cause this to happen to himself? Most people have no use for drug dealers, but from what we are hearing at the time he wasn't dealing. Are we just suppose to go "oh well, he was just this or that, so who cares if he wasn't given medical attention or not treated like a human being?" For me and IMO, the treatment FG received was criminal.

There were 5 officers that cooperated, and one that didn't-apparently. So I wonder if it is the same one that cannot be located?

They are most likely asked to turn themselves in and given so much time to do so. 5 probably decided with their attornys to get it over with. 1 may have needed more time. Doesn't necessarily mean anything.

While I don't know for certain, it appears only the driver was responsible for FG when something happened. The other LEO's didn't summon help and the SA says it was an illegal arrest.

They keep saying 5 in custody but consistently do not say anything else about who the "hold out" is.

Interesting....................

The illegal arrest thing is really bothering me. Baltimore's own definition is unclear. ( NY had an issue with their wording also) I don't think I can post links but there is a lot of discussion over the past several years about the definition.
For now my thoughts are these officers are being over charged and sacrificed.

With all the folks that have been screaming for charges and maximum punishment in the recent past ( not just baltimore ) I wonder how many have records? Did they feel they should get maximum charges and punishment themselves? Did their friends and neighbors scream for maximum punishment for them?
I have no problem with LE being charged when it is warranted. I really feel WHAT they are being charged with is ridiculous. ( that may change as info is released)
