MD MD - JASON THOMAS SCOTT, suspected mother/daughter SK

  • #101
So, it would seem there are others who are involved. Besides the dude who was indicted with him on the weapons charges?

Sounds to me like someone flipped. You know what they say - "There is no honor among thieves."

The guy flipped and informed on the theft of guns, the rest LE found when they searched his home. I guess he can't be too smart to leave all that evidence in his home.

From the last link (thanks!)

"The man's identity is being withheld until he is officially charged, but his next-door neighbor says he is not surprised. He knew the 27-year-old as smart but a neighborhood menace.

"It all started when he was 10 years old," said the neighbor, who declined to be identified for this story. "Peeping tom, recording people when they were asleep, then breaking and entry -- somehow being very intelligent led him to a bad history."

According to what I've read, the gun deal didn't go down until June 2009. However, the records I found all show a list of charges with an offense date of 3/14/2009, which is kind of odd. Here are the charges I found under the March date:

Armed Robbery
Robbery
Use of a Handgun/Crime of Violence/Commission
Transport Handgun on Roadway
1st Degree Burglary/Dwelling
1st Degree Assault
2nd Degree Assault
Theft over $500
False Imprisonment

So, these don't look like the charges from the gun deal, but then how was he not in jail to do the gun deal? He had to have had a seriously high bail for that many charges. Unless he was indicted for these charges at the same time as the gun charges.

Just saw on WJLA that he (and his henchmen) was using an abandoned mansion as a lair and they found evidence that he stored and burned the bodies of Delores and Ebony DeWitt there, before putting them in the burnt out stolen car they were eventually found in.

It sounds like when they caught him for the gun deal, they also caught him for a bunch of other crimes too. Can't tell from that whether they happened at the same time -- they sound like things that could be associated with the gun deal if some of the guns were stolen. Or they could be past crimes they didn't know who had committed until they arrested him with the gun.

The incident dates on some of the 2009 charges are 2007 and 2008.

Ah, then probably other crimes committed with the same gun. Just a guess.

That's interesting. All the charges that I pulled up had the Offense Date as 3/14/2009. I will have to do some further investigating to see if I can tell what's up.

Look at the charge filed 9/1/2009, case ending with #574, the incident dates are 10/4/2008 on the burglary, armed robbery and assault charges.

Then the charge filed 9/11/2009, case ending with #085, the incident dates are 12/23 - 12/25/2007, 6/5/2008, some May 2009, for theft, burglary, desctruction of property. Don't know why so many incidents seem to be lumped in to one case on that one.

It does make sense that they identified a specific gun as being involved in several older incidents. I bet that's it.

The only filing date I have is 11/05/2009. My service is down for the rest of the day, so I can't look any more until tomorrow. I'm clearly missing some charges here. Thanks for the information. May I ask what site you used for your information? I have an account with RecordsLogin.com and that is where I got mine, but got cut off in the middle of investigating it. If there is a better site, I would love to know. TIA.

Thanks so much for the link. What is going on here? This guy has scads of charges and they've all been Nolle Prossed? Why would they not prosecute any of these charges? Something is very off here.

The link Malini posted has way more information. But, I don't understand why he has numerous serious charges in 2 counties and every single one was Nolle Prossed. Does anyone know what 'Hicks Complied' mean? That was mentioned in the closure of some of them. I tried to look it up, but didn't see anything fitting. I know many charges are dropped in plea deals, but every single one of his were dropped. Something just seems very off to me.

The cases are being listed as he is tied to them through evidence. My best guess is that they are waiting for the Grand Jury to indictment on the murders and then he will be tried based on the entire list of crimes. I also have to wonder if since some charges are Federal, that he could be tried in Federal court, (death penalty?).

Here is a link to the March 14 case. The scary thing I have found is that some of these home invasions involved 2, 3, 4 suspects and they are only talking about 1 of them.

Hopefully a few of them may be in custody, one guy was arrested with JTS in the gun deal, i'm hoping none of them are still on the loose.

snip from link

According to various reports, at least five deaths are being investigated in conjunction with the person of interest, who seemed to target mothers and daughters who lived together.

so we know 4 murders....did I miss who the 5th was?

Here you go.

The scary thing is that Prince Georges County averages 100+ murders a year. There are hundreds of unsolved murders from the last 5 years alone, not to mention a 5 minute drive into DC where murders are just as common, and many go unsolved.

There were several gun episodes. He stole guns, then he got set up in a sting to sell guns out of the parking lot where he worked. After that they searched his home, finding evidence in the home and on one the computers. This led to the abandoned mansion where they found evidence that Delores and Ebony had been burned there.

From what the neighbor says, the guy has been breaking into homes since he was a kid. I'm sure he has a big juvie record too.

I have a feeling that the weapons used in the murders may have later been sold. They have a lot of tracking to do. Maybe that's why this is taking so long.

But they sure sound convinced that he is responsible for more than the five murders we know of.
