Maddelynn Taylor Wallace is 4’11”, 90 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. A clothing description is not immediately available.

She was last seen near her house in the 3900 block of Turner Road in Waldorf at about 5:30 p.m. This is in the Malcolm area of Charles County. The area is heavily wooded.

The CCSO is utilizing a search and rescue team to include police K9’s, drones and ATV equipment among other search tools. Anyone with information about Maddelynn’s whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1. Additional details will be released when available."

We are continuing our search for Maddelynn and have been coordinating with additional law enforcement agencies, search teams from across the region, and FIRE / EMS services. We have teams deployed in surrounding areas utilizing search tools. As we continue to investigate, we will provide updates when they become available. Sadly, if Maddelynn "likes to be chased" as stated by her former teacher, she might think it's fun and games if she encounters a predator. She is one of our most vulnerable, and I'm really hoping she will be found unharmed very soon!

I was surprised when I saw your map, @Knox. I’ve only driven through Waldorf on Hwy 301 which is quite busy with lots of stores and fast food places. That area is a good 9 miles from the area she went missing.

It's 1:30 AM in the east, 12:30 here, and I just can't stand the thought of that girl lost in those dark woods surrounding Turner Road!

I was really hoping for good news this morning but as of this writing they haven't found her yet. While I'm still worried about human predators I'm more worried about things like snakes, the elements, or misadventure. Does anyone familiar with her area know what kind of wild animals would be a potential threat to her in the woods along Turner Road?

Update on search for critical missing 10-year-old girl, Maddelynn Wallace:

Officers are continuing to search for Maddelynn who is missing from her home on Turner Road in the Malcolm / Dog Patch area of Brandywine, Charles County. We appreciate the community support and those who are continuing to watch for her along the roadways. We continue to ask those in the area to search their own yards, sheds, outdoor areas surrounding their homes, under decks, private surveillance cameras, etc...We are continuing to work with multiple agencies and FIRE/EMS this morning in the wooded areas and gravel pit areas. As we continue to investigate this case, we will provide updates when they become available. I wonder if they have tried broadcasting a recording of Mom’s voice over a loudspeaker in the search area. That technique was used in a couple of other missing children’s cases. Because she is autistic, she may be afraid to come forward if she hears the searchers calling her name. I have an autistic grandchild and loud yelling of strangers and loud noises would terrify him when he was younger.

The Medical Examiners Office will confirm the identity and we will provide an update once available.

Officers and detectives are continuing to investigate, although no foul play is suspected. Our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers are with Maddelynn's family.
