Transcript from NG last night. The last portion was on PB.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1101/11/ng.01.html

This quote struck me, from JS (mom):
She`s a country girl that I protected, and before I released her to Baltimore when she found her half sisters two years ago, hadn't had any contact with her father from eight to 10 consecutive years --

Her father was not in her life up until 2 years ago. PB had No contact with the Barnes family at all during that time? That is big, to me. Makes me understand more why the half siblings were not as protective of PB, and not as communicative with PB's mom. They may not have had much of a family bond.

How often do cases go like this, where there are pretty much no clues, no evidence, nothing? Poof, gone? I haven't been around WS very long-- This is frustrating as an outsider, I can't imagine how PB's family feels.

Has LE pinged her phone?
Did they check what towers her phone last used?
Have they subpoenaed the phone records of the main players?
Have they given any polygraphs?
Do they know who the guy is that made PB feel uncomfortable?
Have they verified, with phone records, the timeline and the back-and-forth between PB and the main players?

Most of these buildings I have seen have 3 apartments in what would be the ground floor ,it is really below ground (maybe 3 foot) level but on must walk down a set 4 or so steps to get to the apartments. This level would have 3 apartments , the levels 2,3 and or 4 would have 4 each 2 on each side.

All tenants would use the same main entry and sidewalk to the stairs and anyone walking out of a ground apartment to the sidewalk would be just a visable as anyone else leaving the building. unless it was to someone who was going up the stairs as they were coming out ,they may only see half of a person but they would hear.

The steps would be hollow in the middle of the risers so in some buildings you can even see under you.

I dont know for sure if PB sisters apartment building is set up like that but most I have seen are unless they do have 4 apartments at the bottom.

So if the apartment building was filled. Thats alot of people who have to all enter and exit from the same entry. Toss in that this pattern of apartment is repeated (same building different entry ) over a few times leaving from other entries which dont look far away. Somebody just hasnt figured out they saw something or isnt talking on purpose.

We should be able to get the floor plan of the apartment from the listing for rentals.

The stairs you described are called wrap around stairs or steps. Being flat steps without backs so one can see through them.

"Last year we had roughly 355 missing person cases, and all but four were solved," Guglielmi said. "The ones that weren't solved were suspected homicides, and once you dig you find some emotional issues, family disputes, a boyfriend they may have run off with who may have done terrible things, but in this case we have none of that. It's sad and it's terribly frustrating."

Last week, Guglielmi said investigators were having a difficult time getting national media exposure for Barnes.

"This case is no different than the Natalee Holloway case. The only difference is Phylicia is from North Carolina, she went missing in Baltimore and she is African-American," Guglielmi told AOL News on Friday.

For those who were discussing the apartments yesterday, Here's a close-up photo of the front of the apartments where PB was staying. I don't know that this is actually DB's apartment, but it is near by.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.ph...43339&aid=-1&id=738971141&oid=177767702243339

Based on the looks of the apartment, I would guess they were built in the 80's, maybe early 90's, definately not 70's..... I don't know that they used wrap around stairs often after the 70's. All the properties I have been in, with wrap around stairs were built in the 70's. Also, don't most apartment buildings have doors at the entrance to stair wells? I believe most do for firedoors..... which means residents may have heard stairwell doors opening and closing when residents entered and exited the building.

I also agree with everyone it is hinky that KB did not immediately go to the apartment to look for PB if they really had a hair appt.

Praying there is more info on this case soon.

Missing teen turns 17; police stymied

Baltimore police marked the 17th birthday of a missing Monroe teen on Wednesday by searching a dumpster at the apartment complex where the girl's stepsister lives.
The effort turned up nothing, police say, and they expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the case.

Why is there NO info about DB, KB and MJ taking poly's? :banghead:
The timeline and MJ's account of events the day PB went missing make no bloody sense. MJ was the last person to see PB alive. Why isn't LE putting info in the media about grilling him?

Is the family planning any fundraisers? This case NEEDS a higher reward. If the neighborhood is as rough as was mentioned NO ONE is gonna spit in their own back yard for fear of their safety.
This case is stagnent outside of repeating LE is mystified. ARGH!

I think MJ knows damned well where PB is and exactly what happened to her, or he knows who else was at that apartment that day and isn't sharing. ARGH! :furious:

ETA: If MJ and DB's relationship was on the rocks as PB's mother indicated the man has no loyalty to DB and PB and her family whatsoever. I am NOT buying his story of events on the day she went missing. Imo, he is full of it up to his ears.

I wonder if PB's sister has noticed if there was anyone who was coming around the apartment who has just stopped coming around since PB disappeared...

kwim??

Happy Belated Birthday Phylicia :cupcake:

I think the fact that it has been reported that so many people were in and out of the apartment tends to "turn people off" as far as why more media/public is not latching onto this case, as opposed to Natalee for example. It sounds as though Phylicia was in the middle of a party-scene type weekend, even though we here know better. Natalee was on a school-type trip with other classmates, in an exotic locale.

I know I can't get past the stream of people in and out of that apartment and I feel as though the answer is within that group of people. And I don't think Phylcia left the area at all, I think she was killed in that apartment and then disposed of someplace locally. But perhaps media attention would pressure anyone who knows something...I'm not sure I believe that, as I doubt any of those who were at the apartment will come forward, but it is possible.

I do hope Phylicia is found, and that LE gets what they feel they need as far as exposure goes, but I feel that concentrating on the friends of her sisters is the key.

Unbelievable. They spent her birthday looking in one dumpster? Wow, the effort this LE team is putting out just boggles the mind. [My heavy sarcasm, perhaps not deserved. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes]

Does anyone know if LE is reading this thread? Is there anyway to get this thread to them? There might be something here that they have not thought of. Highly unlikely, because they are the detectives and do this for a living. But we have a lot more hours and minds whirling on this.

LE has reported there are 100 officers/detectives working this case, so I doubt we've come up with any idea's or theories they haven't. I just don't understand their approach with the media. Even a presser stating no one has been ruled out would help get more media attention for this case.

I figured so.
But if the best they can do on her birthday is search a dumpster at DB's apartment complex? Please tell me they were doing all kinds of other stuff, and that's just the quote that got in the article. Ugh. I'm just frustrated.

Some people posting on PB's FB prayer page are starting to rumble about theories and people they suspect. Is it okay to leave a link there for websleuths, so they can come read/contribute if they want to? Not sure if that's okay to do.

And why wasn't this dumpster searched long ago? Or do they think someone is throwing away evidence in bits and pieces? :(

Oh, that makes sense. Re-checking places they checked before, in case something new has been disposed. Thank you, I will stop gnashing my teeth now.

I was kind of being sarcastic...I hope they have checked it every day, but have my doubts. I don't know what to believe about LE as far as missing persons' cases go, as things we think are automatic, sometimes aren't.

georgiajean, LE does not tip-their-hand at what they are doing regarding their investigation(s). Simply put, the "bad person/people" read the newspaper (watch TV) too! ;-)

Sure hope so. It makes me worried when every day they say they are at square one, have no leads, and are frustrated.
Are they hoping someone makes a mistake, feeling cocky because they have stumped LE so much?
I just don't want this to become yet another cold case to add to the long lists of missing.
