The two searches will last until sundown.

Urban search and rescue teams, the civil air patrol and two dozen dogs joined cityy homicide detectives in the search for Phylicia Barnes. Police from several counties, FBI agents, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and volunteers gathered off Ilchester Road to search ravines and other rugged areas of this sprawling 16,000-acre park.
"We're not going to, literally, leave a single stone unturned," Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III told reporters this morning. Officers were using a variety of all-terrain vehicles and were concentrating efforts along roadways, streams and hiking trails.
Illchester Road snakes between Route 103 near Ellicott City and areas just south of Catonsville and twists through budding suburban developments on old farmland. Search teams could be seen from the road, concentrating along streams, trails and abandoned buildings from an old mill complex.

Bealefeld also would not be more specific about what led police to the park. But he said such a gigantic undertaking would not have been assembled without "actionable intelligence." He said, "We have considered every conceivable tip that has come in."
