The volume and severity of Morin's injuries were underscored by some 60 autopsy photos shown to the jury during testimony Tuesday from the medical examiner who performed Morin's autopsy.

"From the very top of her head down to her toes, no part of her body was spared," Rice said. "There were injuries everywhere on her body, which shows just how brutal this crime was. She was probably killed five times over from the number of injuries that she suffered."

Ali told the jury that the images he took of Morin's body between eight and ten hours after her death showed nearly every inch of her body covered in scrapes and bruises.

He also said that he found fractures on Morin's nose, skull, and ribs, in addition to a 6 by 6-inch gash on the back of her head.

Ali said that cut was so deep that her skull could be seen.

The front and back of Morin’s hands were also bruised and swollen, which Ali said indicates that she had tried to fight off the attacker.

“When you see injuries to the back of the hands or palms, they are considered defensive injuries,” Ali said.

“It was obvious this wasn’t a slip-and-fall injury,” said Wilsynski, a latent fingerprints expert who photographed the crime scene and collected evidence, such as DNA. “It was a massive attack.”

Forensic pathologist Dr. Zabiullah Ali testified in Harford Circuit Court that of the more than 9,000 autopsies he has performed, the one he completed in this case “stands out from the standpoint of the number of injuries.”

The lead medical examiner, lead forensic detective on the case, and deputies who helped trace the scene the day Morin was found off the Ma & Pa Trail in Harford County, testified on Tuesday.

Martinez-Hernandez's defense team raised some concerns about DNA collection.

Body camera footage confirmed by Wilsynski shows a Medical Examiner's Office field inspector holding a bag used to cover Morin's hands before putting her in the body bag without gloves on.

Today, the Maryland state medical examiner, Dr. Zabiullah Ali, testified.

He told the courtroom in his 23 years of performing autopsies, Morin's stood out due to the sheer "number of injuries," Ali said.

I'm a little confused about the time line the ME is providing regarding when he took photos of Rachel's body.

The ME said he took photos of Rachel's body between eight and ten hours after Rachel's death. According to initial reports Rachel Morin, 37, was last seen on Saturday, August 5, around 6:00 p.m., when she left to walk on the Ma and Pa Trail. At 1:07 p.m., (August 6th, the next day) the Harford County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call that a woman's body had been found off the Ma and Pa Trail.

I don't see how it is possible for the ME to have taken pictures of her body eight to ten hours after her death, when she was likely killed over 18 hours before her body was found. I'm figuring she was killed somewhere around 7:00 PM on August 5 and her body was discovered at 1:07 PM August 6 the next day.

Maybe he meant he took the photos after he received her body which was 8-10 hours after she was found? 🤷‍♀️

The suspect in the killing of Rachel Morin hid in the woods with a shovel, according to witness testimony delivered Wednesday for the state.

Jurors on the fourth day of testimony heard from a dog walker, who may have been the last person to see the mother of five alive, and the lead detective investigating the case.

I wonder if he knew she was going to be there; if he'd seen her before and was tracking her movements.

There was a 45-minute delay to the start of proceedings, and the judge in the case dismissed a juror without explanation. Fox45 News is working to find out why.

When testimony began Wednesday morning, Kevin Stacy, a man who claims to be one of the last people to see Morin before she died, took the stand.

He says he walked the Ma & Pa trail regularly with his dog.

On the evening of Aug. 5, 2023, Kyle Stacy and his girlfriend, Olivia, were walking their dog on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in Bel Air when he heard a tree branch snap.

“I saw a man in the woods — just out there,” Stacy testified on Wednesday in Harford County Circuit Court. “I think he felt like he got caught, so to speak.”

The man was holding a walking stick, he said, and wearing sunglasses and a gray sweatshirt with the hood up.

Investigators later showed the shovel to Stacy, who identified it as the object the man in the woods was using as a walking stick.

In the woods with a shovel? That sounds to me like he planned this. No one just randomly goes for a walk with a shovel.

I'm almost certain when he went to the trail he planned on raping a female. He likely had the shovel to use as a weapon to subdue his victim. I'm not sure if he planned on killing her, but it escalated into that. Rachel just happened to be the unlucky female.

The reason I think this is because it has come out that in the CA incident it was a lady and her young daughter that were assaulted. He didn't kill them.

Hernandez then popped up in Los Angeles where he violently assaulted a 9-year-old girl and her mother during a home invasion.

Witness No. 26: Harford County Detective Michael Wilsynski (On recall).

On June 13, 2024, Wilsynski testified, he received two bags of clothes: one dirty, one clean.

They came from the apartment of Jose Hernandez.

Martinez-Hernandez had left the clothing behind.

Wilsynski said he photographed them and swabbed some for DNA.

He killed a woman in El Salvador before the attack in Los Angeles. Fortunately, he was interrupted in the LA attack before it escalated to murder.

Witness No. 27: Tulsa Police Officer Kylee Delmont, who assisted in the arrest of Martinez-Hernandez on June 14, 2024.

Police, he said, went to Los Dos Amigos Sports Bar.A security guard initially told them that Martinez-Hernandez was not there.“We ended up finding him, sitting at the bar," Delmont testified.

Delmont testified that Martinez-Hernandez at first gave them a different name: Juan Carlos.Officers looked at photos of Martinez-Hernandez and asked him to smile. That's because his teeth were unique, Delmont said.

Witness No. 28: Tulsa Police Officer Nolisha Markham.

Martinez-Hernandez, she testified, also told her his name was Juan Carlos.

Witness No. 29: Tulsa Police Detective Steven Sanders testified that Martinez-Hernandez eventually gave officers his real name.

A security guard, he said, provided law enforcement with a Samsung Galaxy A15.

Witness No. 30: Harford County digital forensics supervisor Heather Marsh.

Marsh analyzed the Samsung Galaxy A15.

Martinez-Hernandez, she said, had cached images related to Morin on his phone.

Marsh testified that she also pulled out 12 words in the user dictionary of the phone.

They included “Richel,” “Moring” and “asesino” — or Spanish for murderer.

Witness No. 31: Harford County Detective Phil Golden, the lead investigator in the case (on recall).

On June 14, 2024, Golden testified, he took swabs to the Maryland State Police for DNA testing.
He said he later received the results.
“Who was that suspect?”

Harford County State's Attorney Alison Healey asked.
“Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez," Golden replied.

Golden said he requested and received an arrest warrant.
Law enforcement, though, had no idea where Martinez-Hernandez was at that time.

Detectives asked T-Mobile to ping his phone for cell site location information, Golden testified.
He then contacted Tulsa Police for assistance.

Golden testified that he traveled on June 15, 2024, to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Martinez-Hernandez, he said, agreed to be interviewed.

At first, Martinez-Hernandez requested an attorney, Golden said.

Harford County Sgt. Chris Crespo, he testified, asked Martinez-Hernandez whether he'd be willing to speak to detectives if he had an attorney present.

Martinez-Hernandez agreed to talk.

Martinez-Hernandez told detectives that he had never been to Maryland or Virginia, Golden said.

The trial is adjourning for the day.

MURDER TRIAL PHOTO GALLERY: Here’s a thread of some of the images shown to the jury in the high-profile case against Victor Martinez-Hernandez. He’s the undocumented immigrant accused of raping and killing Rachel Morin, a Harford County mother of five.

Tucked behind the trees lining Bel Air’s popular Ma & Pa walking trail, detectives say these scattered evidence markers follow a trail of blood leading to a tunnel drain, where Morin’s brutally beaten body was found in August of 2023.

Here’s a look inside the tunnel drain.
