Last night, Matt McMahon (the father of Rachel's oldest child) was on the Decipher Podcast and revealed more specific details about the Los Angeles home invasion/assault against the 9-year-old girl and her mother:

"To put things in perspective for people that saw that LA video, what happened was is he was attacking a little girl, almost killed her. She was unconscious when her older brother interrupted him (who was choking her), fought him off, and pushed him out the door."

The actual method of the attack in that case wasn't known before. It further shows his MO and brutality. Between this attack and the two murders we know he committed, I have no doubt he would have continued his violent crime spree if he wasn't apprehended.

That’s beyond horrible. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to learn he did commit other crimes. At least his DNA is in a database now

Jury deliberations in the trial for Rachel Morin's murder anticipated to begin Monday

The state is seeking life in prison without the possibility of parole for the defendant who is accused of kidnapping, raping and murdering Rachel Morin in August 2023.

It will be up to a mostly-white jury of 10 men and two women if he will or won't be eligible for parole. A judge will decide his sentence at a later date.

Closing arguments are also expected Monday but before then the defense has an opportunity to call witnesses including their client but that's unlikely.

In order to convict, the jury's decision will have to be a unanimous one. Presiding Judge Yolanda Curtain has warned they will be kept late on Monday if they can't come to a consensus.

Defendant Victor Martinez-Hernandez' DNA matched the DNA found on Rachel #Morin's neck, left wrist, apple watch and breasts.

But when apprehended he denied any involvement, offering his theory as to why his DNA was at the crime scene.
