Slightly O/T, but relevant;

Why, oh WHY can't MSM get FACTS before they make their reports. I am so sick of conflicting 'facts' on ALL of these cases.

It seems like they ought to have SOME sort of standards and do a little research before they file a report. GAH!!!!:banghead:

It reminds me of those comment sections on blogs where people type in "FIRST!!". Nothing to say, just had to say it "FIRST".

Im not real familiar /w drug rehab but I wonder if medicaid would cover over 30 days?

I'm not either. And I am not familiar with what Medicaid covers, either. FWIW, I always thought the 30 days thing was BS. I can't imagine that is enough time to be effective for ANY type of addiction, thereby increasing the risk of relapse and going back to rehab all over again.........

Any Sleuthers who know about Medicaid and rehab programs?

I think it can differ from state to state but FWIW my brother was on Tenncare (Tennessee medicaid) and they paid for him to be in a rehab program. It was a very short period of time allowed however and, of course, it didn't help him.

Waterville Police Department

Criminal Justice students learn about the "CSI Effect," which is the result of our current (and entertaining) TV dramas. It leads to the belief that investigations can be successfully concluded - and every mystery solved - in an hour. The fact is, many things take time: searches, interviews, and the like. We have an operational tempo that is exhausting, and Detectives who are committed to doing things RIGHT. The outpouring of public support and encouragement - from area residents, local businesses, and neighboring public safety agencies - is a testament to the goodness of people. Please stay with us in spirit as we work to bring this case to a successful conclusion.

:waitasec: I guess that answers why they havent done LDT or any of your other questions in a nut shell.

Seriously though, I wouldnt want to have to do their jobs. :takeabow:It's got to suck having to search for a missing child, not knowing what you'll find, and deal with so many personalities involved in the case.

I don't offhand, but I know a lot about drug abuse cuz that's my field. If we get together a list of questions, one of my labmates knows a guy who's a case mgr or something and is called in by physicians when a drug case presents in the ER. I don't know him personally, but I am planning to contact him anyway about an unrelated matter so if there are questions I can try to poke around. It's not the most efficient route, but I offer it as a back-up plan. :)

Been following this thread and the one thing that has stood out (unless I have missed it) is nothing from paternal grandmother or sister ...... which I find strange if they were in the house that night. I have not seen a comment for or against the father.

I sure hope LE asked for polygraphs right away. If a child is missing with no signs of forced entry, adults in the home have to be considered suspects. If they are truly innocent, they will understand this.

If they have not taken them by now, I very much doubt they will agree to take them at all. And here we go, another standoff between parents and LE that results in-? What? An eternally missing baby? Sure hope not.

I know a little about Medicaid and drug rehab in my state, but I know it differs from state to state. here in MI (last I knew, which was about 5 years ago)it is very difficult to even get into any type of inpatient rehab if you are on Medicaid. Long waiting lists, some rehabs will not even accept Medicaid. Once you do manage to get in, state insurance will normally only pay for a max of 2 weeks. To me, not enough time for anyone to recover from a substance problem. My ex-husband went to rehab 3 times, but it was never for more than a couple of weeks, then he got booted out as the insurance wouldnt pay for any further inpatient cost. I don't think court ordered rehab is much different, the state just doesnt want to/doesn't have the money to pay for longer inpatient stays.

I fully agree with you.
My husband's neice lost her husband in a double murder and while I was googling about his past (her husband), I found at least 2 forums (not 'missing people' forums) where the author of the newspaper story asked for comments from people who had known him. She gave her name and phone number. I read all the comments and noticed the worst of them were printed in her report in a major newspaper the next day. She covered herself by stating "alleged" in her report but these comments circulated through all the newspapers in the country.
I was shocked - there were absolutely no facts in it, just rumours. Now his wife and 2 children have to deal with this as well as the death of her husband .

Earlier in the morning, wardens searched Dumpsters outside a fitness/nightclub and hotel.
...

I know LE has to look at all possibilities ... including searching through dumpsters ...

BUT ... this tells me LE does NOT believe Ayla just wandered off ...

JMO ... but I believe that LE knows what happened to this poor little baby ... and it is not looking good ...:furious:

http://www.wabi.tv/ is the website. I am not sure that that's the right place, though. I don't see a place to watch or listen.

I am just starting to follow this case as I've been having computer problems and been out of the loop. I caught some into on JVM last night.

As I was watching, my husband (who never ever follows these cases) said, "Another one???"

Even HE notices that there are seemingly countless children going missing. What is going on?????? Dear God, please find little Ayla alive!!

I fear we will be hearing that "nothing can be ruled out"...and unless someone confesses or this baby is found, there it may remain...feeling very pessimistic about all of these children...and very uncharitable toward all of the adults in these cases who won't talk to LE...JMO
