My family is from New Brunswick and many of the homes I have seen have an open stairwell down to the basement with a rail and no door. It can almost be like a hole in the floor and definitely must be blocked or baby-proofed.

Yes. And the layout of JD's home looks like some I've been in where you walk in the side door and you are on a small landing and go straight down to basement, or make a right and up 3 steps to kitchen.

NG is saying abc news is reporting that JD is saying Ayla was sleeping downstairs with him! Yet another version. We were wondering about the basement. They are describing it as unfinished.

ETA: Hang on - he may just be saying that because people are faulting him for leaving Ayla upstairs alone.

Also, if she was downstairs with him, there would be no reason to fall down the stairs. So that explains that. Nothing to see here . . . ignore that broken gate, folks. It means nothing.

But wait another minute . . .

How does this jive with the "abduction" from the room where Ayla was sleeping alone???

And what about Grandma being on the record in her CNN interview about peepers around the outside of the house looking in on sleeping Ayla?

How could anyone steal a child away who was sleeping with their father in the basement? Makes no sense.

But they all heard nothing and saw nothing, right?

They are just so screwed-up with all these versions. Someone should just cut through the BS right now and tell the truth for a change!

My questions: Bob Vear supposedly "leaked" the blood info trying to get the thought of "drops" vs spatter out there. If Bob knew there was blood, why compare it to a cut when it would be revealed as spatter?

By thanks, how many of us believe Ayla was gone from the house long before the "kidnapping" was reported? (I personally believe Justin and his mother cleaned up the scene so long ago, that they thought there was no evidence.)

Susan Candiotti on NG. PD revealed her whereabouts to Susan off the record, and Susan's police sources tell her PD told LE her whereabouts at the very start of this and that LE confirmed her whereabouts.

If he indeed knew about the blood as long as he says, I am sure he is going by what he was told by JD or a family member...he may be rather startled to learn of the "splatter" too...

Vear's comment has been "bugging me" since Saturday -- when Vear commented about the blood on Saturday when interviewed for the vigil -- And then -- his "commentary" on the FB page to his "Friend" ...

Was it an attempt to DOWNPLAY the blood evidence ? I'm not buying it !

Have we seen anything yet that tells us for sure how the blood info got leaked?

Just not sure we have confirmation that the blood/Luminol info came from BV, and don't want the cart to get in front of the horse here. (Horses hate that.)

:seeya: There is an MSM link in my post above where Vear commented to the MSM about his "knowledge" of the blood evidence ...

Now did he "leak it" ? Not sure WHO did leak it ...

But it is strange that he was at the vigil and that is WHEN the info came out about the blood evidence.

I'll update with link -- on WS and trying to watch NG Show ... :innocent:

ETA: I think Bob Vear's comments about the blood evidence is "hinky" ... now maybe I am "thinking too much" here, or maybe I am thinking too much "out of the box" ... but something is just not right.

IIRC, PD stated that she stepped on glass in the basement...excusing the posibility of blood being found. If any blood found it would be hers, dismissing that it could be Ayla's.
And convienent that she wasn't at the house the night Ayla "disappeared"...saving her from having to be part of the coverup story of abduction.

Also, finding out the sister is only 19yrs old painted another picture. If this is a tight family and "lil" sis or mom is responsible for Ayla's disappearance, I could see JD covering for them.

Marc K. completely agrees that this was NOT a stranger aduction...he also told JD that he needs to be talking to media, talking to police, etc....

He says that the fact that not all of the blood was visible is more concerning, showing that a clean-up took place...

It almost sounded like the lady on NG who interviewed PD was going to say that police found the blood on the first day. Then she caught herself. JMO

BV planned the vigil that happened Saturday, the day that LE told Trista. I believe LE told trista because of what Bob Vear (and us, here by then) were saying--- that Bob Vear says there was blood in the house.


seems clear to me, that someone leaked it to Bob and Bob leaked to the public. And how quick we forget about that blog fiasco just days before the bob vear explosion, with the blogger and her infamous "gate/no gate-blog" wrote, deleted, re-wrote and clarified her blog 15 times in 48 hours (i may be exaggerating)..... seems like LE had to tell Trista, especially if she saw what WE all saw and confronted them.

She even said she was fed up and was ready to knock on doors---there are suspects from other cases who are highly assumed to be on websleuth...why coulda Trista?

Ayla Bell Reynolds' father, Justin DiPietro, told police last month that he believed his daughter was snatched from the bedroom of the Waterville, Maine home she shared with him between her 8 p.m. bed time on Dec. 17 and when he checked her bedroom in the morning.

The syntax is confusing, but looks like it means the home, not the bedroom, she shared with him. All MOO

JVM kept highlighting the "long" hug between JD and TR. One view was seeing the back of TR and the front of JD (TR holding a balloon). The second view was seeing the face of TR crying and a side view of someone that was not JD. It was a woman..I'm guessing TR's mom (the lady that was standing next to her while she commented on the blood).

Just frustrated me to see how some shows try to create drama where it isn't needed. Wish they would stick to the facts and not try to make it so grandios!

I admit I have not kept up with this ongoing saga except to check in now and then or hear bits on tv, but when NG said there was some blood visible and some that was not visible until the luminol, I immediately thought someone tried to clean up the blood that was confirmed by LE to belong to Ayla. Why would anyone try to clean up and destroy evidence for an accident?

Also, was it ever confirmed or denied that Ayla was crawling or walking? I did see the picture of her standing at the screen door at the beginning of this case.

And, is there a dog in the house? If so, what size?
