I really and truly hope she's alive and well somewhere, living her best life.

“Team Stefanie has actively worked to support the investigation, reporting several tips to authorities. Rand: “Almost a dozen of our team members had communications, were contacted by someone on the internet, that claimed to have knowledge of Stefanie’s whereabouts. We turned the information over to authorities in January and later this year they were arrested by the FBI in an undercover operation and determined to be a predator.”

It’s wonderful to see that her community remains so actively involved in finding Stefanie!

My recollection is fuzzy, but I think I recall that the kids did not have personal electronics, so I’m not sure how catfishing could have taken place, moo. If they used their parents’ devices, maybe…? But the parents were away when Stefanie walked off into the woods. I’d assume they would have had their devices on them.

I believe Stefanie and her older sister were with the grandfather/family friend when she disappeared, on the heels of an argument with her sister. Maybe her father thinks that she could have used his (gf/ff’s) device to reach out to an online acquaintance after the argument, and that’s what her father is referring to as catfishing? Reportedly, her sister and grandfather/ff heard a car on the main road shortly after Stefanie walked off. All iirc and moo.

That’s what I thought. Catfishing and then finding out it was a minor and killing said minor seems like a VERY far reach imo

But I’ve always felt this was close to home
