Baez got Haskell to say he had been paid more than $20,000 by the state for his work in the case and that he probably would collect more for his testimony. But then Haskell reminded the attorney that he Baez owed him some money as well.
"The check is in the mail," Baez said.
Orange County crime-scene investigator Jennifer Welch also testified Saturday, saying Caylee's skull was found about 19 feet from Suburban Drive and that 390 pieces of evidence were collected at the scene. She told jurors a piece of duct tape was found near the bags and skull at the main recovery site.
That tape had the same manufacturer imprints on it as the tape found on the child's skull and hair, Welch said.
