Jaycee Lee Dugard's Aunt Shares Story Of Reunion
Sep 3, 2009 11:20 am US/Pacific

Dugard and the two daughters she had with her accused kidnapper and rapist, Phillip Garrido, spent several emotional days reconnecting with her mother, Terry Probyn, according to Probyn's sister. Jaycee's younger sister was also at the reunion, reports CBS station KOVR-TV in Sacramento.
"We spent time sharing memories and stories and getting to know each other again. Jaycee remembers all of us," said Dugard. "She is especially enjoying getting to know her little sister who was just a baby when Jaycee was taken."
She said the family has laughed and cried together.
"I remember thinking, 'Wow, she's French-braiding Jaycee's hair for the first time in 18 years,'" Tina Dugard told the paper.
Tina Dugard said Jaycee recognized her instantly when they first met, shouting "Auntie Tina!" when she entered the room.
Tina Dugard said the two daughters, ages 15 and 11 and reportedly named Starlet and Angel, were "educated and bright" - at one point pointing out constellations and edible plants - despite receiving no formal schooling. Dugard also said they "know what's been going on" but had not been allowed to watch news coverage of their fathers arrest.
