Back in the day of Shakespere, people used to treat actors worse than prostitutes. I think that should be the way it still is.

I work with actors. And many of my best friends are... well, you get the idea.

But I so know what Jeana means.

Driving While Anti-Semitic

Instead of getting angry over Mel Gibson’s bigotry, let’s look at the real moral outrage: drunk driving.

Idahomom posted a similar article yesterday and many of us are more outraged about the drunk driving.
Like I said, he can say whatever he wants, makes no nevermind to me.Only is powerful if I give it power.

I agree; like they say, "actions speak louder than words".....

His actions could have killed someone, his words though do hurt...but don't kill anyone.

To me his actions in the future will be the key...words mean little.

I like this article.LOL the author doesn't even know the differnce between jail and prison. So much for their credibility. The article probably isn't worth reading, I only provided the link so you all could see where i took this false statement from.

Gibson Suicidal?

HOLLYWOOD - Troubled actor Mel Gibson's arrest last Friday was the result of a "death wish," according to press reports.
Gibson was caught by police on suspicion of driving under the influence after speeding and reportedly crossing lanes in Malibu, California.

The star's publicist, Alan Nero, announced yesterday that Gibson had checked himself into rehab and "is fighting for his life."

APPARENTLY, MEL'S "PUBLICIST" WASN'T TELLING THE WHOLE TRUTH:

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A lot is riding on Mel Gibson's recovery from alcoholism: his health, his image, his reputation and his chance to repair relations with the Jewish community.

But unlike other celebrity alcoholics, Gibson is not checking into a treatment facility. Instead, his publicist says the actor is participating in an outpatient "program of recovery," declining to provide specifics.

Will that be enough?

What does Spain know about it.... it's funny how the internet takes information everywhere.

"He is sincere right now.." what does that mean?

If he's "fighting for his life", I'm not sure outpatient will cut it.

Is he worried that his insurance won't pay??? Yuck Yuck

let me put it to you this way. Ain't no way you want to go to prison.

The United States is one country where the term jail generally refers to facilities where detainees are locked up for a relatively short time (either while awaiting trial or serving a sentence of one year or less upon conviction for a misdemeanor). Prison and penitentiary typically denote a place where inmates go to serve long terms after having been found guilty of a felony. In the United States, jails are usually operated under the jurisdiction of local (county) governments while prisons are operated under the jurisdiction of state or federal governments.

ETA: well maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. Maybe jail and prison mean the same thing in countries other than the US.

Thanks JBean!

I always thought they did lol.

I just assumed they were the same thing but they musn't be because otherwise we wouldn't have two different names for the same thing, god I'm dopey I amaze even myself with some of the things I come out with lol lol.
I am going to check this out :waitasec:

But maybe in Australia they are the same thing. that's why I said,.maybe I shouldn't be so harsh.
here in the US, you cannot be sentenced to jail for more than a year. Since it is also used to hold people awating trial ,you can be there longer than a year if you are wating trial (Scott Peterson), but not sentenced to more than a year. That's why sometimes people are sentenced to a year and a day, because then they HAVE to go to prison.
Jail is a picnic compared to prison.

Ok, I think they are the same thing here from what I can google lol.
We sometimes spell jail like gaol.
Jail is the American version and gaol is the English version, we use both.
By country the states has the world's largest prison population, followed by Russia and China.

He also got another invite, but I haven't heard as if yet he will appear ;)
Gibson's New Gig -- Yom Kippur Keynote Speaker?

In the letter, David Baron, the Rabbi for the Temple of the Arts, the largest entertainment industry synagogue in the United States, wrote: "...I wish to invite you to come and speak in order that you might directly express to the Jewish community your remorse. I feel that Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement, would be an appropriate time."

Rabbi Baron added: "In our faith we are commanded to forgive when the offending party takes the necessary steps and offers an apology from the heart."

NOTE: Last night I saw Rabbi Baron on T.V. making his invitation to MG very clear, it was an invite to apologize. I guess some took his invite to mean otherwise!
