I'm with Dex on this one, and I'm usually more in agreement with Web.

His employer has been very cooperative with his many trips to Mexico, so I doubt they would fire him for staying a little longer in Mexico to look for his missing wife. It's possible to contact everyone he needed to talk to in the U.S. from Mexico, and working with LE and other authorities in Mexico would be much easier to do while he was there (hire a translator). I'm not usually one to judge people just because they do things I wouldn't do, but in this instance I am. To leave so quickly is senseless and bizarre IMO. I'm not saying it's suspicious, but it really is NOT something a normal husband would do. If he suspected that Jenny had ditched him and stood him up, it makes more sense, even though I still think it was wrong.
As a side note, I would like to know who reported Jenny missing first...her family in China or JR. She told JR she would be out of reach while traveling to Cancun. Did she tell her Mom the same thing?
