He was scheduled to stay in Mexico from April 15 to April 20. He stayed in Mexico from April 15 to April 20, then he returned to the US on schedule, and immediately set up a fundraising campaign, to find her.

Thanks for the correction. I thought he had stayed a day or two longer than planed. Knowing that he stayed to the full amount of time as he originally planned, means he could have been nearing the end of the money he had and returned for that reason...or any combination of the other reasons I listed. I don't see his leaving after five days as being suspicious. He filed a missing person police report in Cancun during those five days. At that point, I don't see much else he could have done from Mexico that he couldn't do from his home. Rent a car (if he had the money or credit card) and drive the highways looking for Jenny? That would be a waste of time...he was likely more productive from home.

I don't necessarily find it suspicious that he left Mexico on schedule. Though as some have pointed out, many people would have stayed in Mexico to help the police with the investigation. I do find his bizarre behavior since that time to be highly suspicious. Such as 1. Immediately setting up a fundraising web page (Why was that the first thing he did?). 2. Getting arrested in a prostitution sting (makes it seem he has other things on his mind then finding his wife). 3. Trying to bully a Mexican Prosecutor, whom he doesn't even know if the man is in office or not. 4. Trying to bully a multi-national company into releasing confidential employee information, rather than going through legal channels to get the information. 5. Trolling a Mexican truck driver and his wife on Facebook (What normal person would think that would accomplish anything?). 6. At one point making the Help Find Jenny page private, and deleting any posts that he doesn't like, rather than addressing the issues.

According to this site....https://mp.waspc.org/ there is still no one by Jenny's name reported missing in Washington,

I checked that link last night using her Chinese name with the same results. However Jenny's Namus profile shows that Seattle PD is the investigating agency, so JR must have reported her missing as he said he did.

Thanks so much for digging up all those old links from thread #1, JerseyGirl. It really helps us review what went on (especially since so much was deleted from FB).

I just want to know if he visited any brothels and was sipping on margaritas while he was down there.

Also. I would like for the hotel to confirm that he was a worried spouse for those 4 days.

Plus I would like proof of how many times he tried to call or email her or even posted on her s.m pages during that time.

Btw. Jr never posted on her Facebook or Weibo to see if she was ok during those days.

Plus he never posted not 1 time that Jenny asked him to bring more clothes or money for her. Jmo.

Because most spouses will say don't forget to bring me this or that.

So anyways. There is no proof that they didn't meet up.

So Websleuths 101. Suspect hubby until the proper authorities clear them. Lol

Because I am not trusting these invisible witnesses that none of us has seen or heard from. Jmo.

Yet the only "proper authorities" involved in the investigation are the Chinese Embassy staff. As Lilibet mentioned, Seattle PD is listed as the investigating agency on NamUs, but we've never heard from them that I can recall.

I may have to take a break from Jenny's case until there is an independent, neutral, third party leading an investigation or someone -a family member, close friend- shares their perspective. And with his long-standing issues with the IRS and arrest for "sexual exploitation" just last year, who knows when JR will decide to work with "proper authorities," if ever. He, however, apparently has no problem asking for assistance from LE for his own protection -though his request was denied- as per the attached.

I will continue to read the thread because I really care about Jenny -her case has really grabbed a hold of me, perhaps because I am an immigrant to this country myself-, but I must admit, I get so discouraged trying to think of ways to find her, knowing that none of it will help until JR decides to at least consider possibilities other than the Corona/Kugar truck scenario, which I really don't see happening any time soon, if ever.

Add to it, there is so much "Websleuths 101" stuff that has not been done, at least to our knowledge. We don't even know if Jenny's green card and passport have been flagged.

Jenny needs a true advocate, IMO, and that is if she is still missing.

Something else I have been thinking about: If the delivery driver indeed did something to Jenny, why wouldn't he just say he simply dropped her off somewhere? If there is some damning evidence -other than witness accounts- to prove that Jenny hopped into his truck and they drove away, then he probably wouldn't deny that part. Or has he said something like that, but we just haven't heard about it because as far as JR is concerned, it is irrelevant and thus we don't have to know??

I think its much more likely he was left holding the proverbial bag. JMO.

I meant she left him.

 I was trying to figure out what bag you meant. :D

It's quite possible she did leave him. I still don't know what to think about her absence from social media. Maybe she's under a new name, etc.

Does anyone recall exactly how she met JR when he was working in China? The circumstances?

Editing to add: Just found it. They met at a place where people "go to practice english". What the heck was he doing there? Sounds sketchy.

Good question. He was working in the tech field in China, but I don't know that he was involved in teaching English.

Here is an interesting discussion on TripAdvisor about young women wanting to "practice their English" and taking advantage of foreigners. Some are looking for a foreign boyfriend. It mentions a middle aged man being targeted by a young Chinese girl. One scam is to take the foreigner to a tea place to practice and then leave him with a huge bill. The girl comes back later and divides the money with the proprietor. Could be sketchy on both sides! Or not.

ETA: But for him to continually go hang out with people wanting to practice English seems a little off, unless he was looking for companionship he couldn't find among native English speakers in China.

"going to practice english" sounds like a thinly veiled offer of something....of what, I don't want to speculate.

Soooo...i just read up on this "want to practice english" scam in China. It really sheds a different light on this case. VERY Illuminating

Indeed. Thanks for bringing it up. We've never discussed it before. Lots to think about.

Waiting for Dex to weigh in. :waiting:

Yessss....well, well, well.
I just spent the last couple hours researching "want to practice english" scams in China. I wish we had of picked up on this much earlier, as it really tilts this thread in a completely different way. And really paints a different picture of this JR/Jenny relationship.
All speculation and opinion only

From reading her accounts of her travels in Mexico, it's clear that Jenny knows how to get what she wants from people, so she may very well have practiced this in China.

I've been reading too and my first thought was that JR was a sitting duck for a scam like this. If Jenny was involved in a scam, she must also have been charming enough to continue seeing him afterward. And she would have to have been patient and determined for the five years until their marriage, if her end game was to come to the U.S. It "wasn't love at first sight" and JR said he's not the easiest person to get along with. She even wrote instructions and a pep talk on her blog for emigrating IIRC.

So, once she got here, did she get bored and want to move on to a new adventure or was that always her goal once she obtained her green card? Or did JR upset her? He has multiple legal issues. IIRC she decided to take this trip about three weeks before she left (JR said...but I can't remember where). Was this the beginning of a manic phase? What fears was she trying to conquer? So many questions. Above all, was she planning to leave him?

JMO, MOO, Speculation...etc.

I had to go back and search and I found what I was looking for. They met at a place the Chinese call an "English Corner". It's an interesting cultural phenomena where people gather and, as JR said, they practice speaking English! I could see where an English-speaking foreigner there might go to one of these events to enjoy feeling like a rock star, lol.

Here's the link to the news article where It says they met at an "English Corner" event, and the second link explains what these events are.

Was Jenny one of the women who specifically go to look for a foreign boyfriend? I note that she was the pursuer, asking JR out on a date first, according to the news article.

http://nwasianweekly.com/2016/06/hu...-of-seattle-was-last-seen-in-april-in-oaxaca/

"Reinhard said he and his wife have been together for eight years. They met while he lived in China and he attended an event called “English Corner” by a lake, which was a gathering place for Chinese who want to practice their English."

http://thefaceofchina.com/2014/01/09/english-corner-china’s-free-speech-zone/

"Some female Chinese participants specifically attend English Corner in hopes of finding a foreign boyfriend or, better yet, husband. Long time English Corner participants tell stories of marriages that originated at English Corner, further strengthening the legitimacy of the institution."

Agree. Jenny knows how to work the system and crowd. Lol.

She is the type to get back stage access at a Bon Jovi concert while real fans are stuck in the nose bleed section. Lol

But the real question is did Jenny over do her sneakyness in Mexico?

Where are you Jenny?

And when is JR going to have a Chinese p.i check out that website that Jenny may have signed up for on 4/29.

I spent allot of time in Thailand years ago, and belonged to an online expat forum called Thaivisa.com which is still up and running. Over the years there were some amazing and sad reports of middle aged and older men marrying young Thais, only to eventually end up dead with all their assets now belonging to their Thai wife.

'I used to think she only wanted me for my balding head, yellow teeth, and flabby belly...but now I know she really loves me.'
