I had on my calendar marked to go check the Facebook page for an update. Nothing.

At some point, JR needs to move on. I don't know how he can, how he will, but whatever he opts to do will be at the speed and method that is his own process, just like all the other families do when a loved one goes missing and is never found. I feel just terrible for him. :(

  • #223
Just checking in :(

JR answered a query about whether there is any news:
Not much. They are "working on the case." (His quotes, not mine)

I think he's heard those words so many times they must sound meaningless. I wonder if he has anyone in Mexico representing him and pestering the new prosecutor. I guess I would be asking nicely: "Can you tell me what are you doing specifically? Who is assigned to the case? Can he report to me weekly by email please? Will the suspect be questioned? When? etc, etc, etc, etc."

His trademark one line update, in response to an inquiry two days before, that says absolutely nothing new, six weeks after he said he was "optimistic that we will see progress in the case within the next 30 days."

I know right? It's just so sad that his hopes keep getting dashed, yet he doesn't give up on her.

We have another non-update on the Help Find Jenny page:

Here is the latest update on the case:
The police are continuing the investigation of the main suspects. I am hoping this will lead to an arrest soon. I wish I could say more, but hopefully we will get some positive results soon.

  • #228
Link to the latest update. The last sentence actually reads:

"I wish I could say more, but hopefully we will get some positive results in the coming months."
BBM

He seems to be expanding his usual time frame from "soon" or 30 days to months. I think that's realistic considering his experience with LE. I hope the new prosecutor doesn't drop the ball...again. Time will tell. Wishing him answers and peace.

The fact that he hasn't given up is remarkable. From here, i feel like we will never know what happened to Jenny.

Actually, it was edited after I copied and pasted what he wrote. You can see his edits on on the post.

I thought he might have edited it, but when I checked it before posting it didn't show up. I thought perhaps there was a typing mistake. :)

Message from Jim McDermotts office my wonderful local representative:
I’m sorry, when you first called, I did not know that your wife was not a US citizen. The US Department of State only has the authority to inquire about and provide assistance to US citizens abroad. A lawful permanent resident is the responsibility of the county of his or her nationality..

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.

Now news...praying for some info today..

May 11, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Here's what we know.
We know what direction Jenny was going. We need to further the search the trail to Cancun. I am using my own finances to pay, since the Gofundme site is quickly running out of funds.
Here is what can help:
-More donations- keep the investigation going
-More media attention- Press has help pressure the police
-The Chinese people and government- So far it has only been talk from Jenny's Country, and NO action. A very few have been helpful
-My Senator and Country- Get off you butt and support your people- no more excuses.

May 12, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Two of my investigators are heading to Oaxaca to continue the search- Good News.

May 16, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Just found out the Oaxaca Police have done nothing since I left Mexico. Time to call the media outlets....

May 16, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Good News! Hot lead! We have found where stayed Monday night (April 11th), and was witnessed getting into a full trailer of a major international brand. We have the description of the driver and will be contacting the company to track down the driver. This is the BEST information so far!

May 19, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The "Major Brand" whose employee may be a likely suspect, is stalling. Check the papers tomorrow, I will be releasing the information.

May 4, 2016 · Seattle, WA
A summary of my trip to Oaxaca:
1. My meetings with the Oaxaca Police- They were very helpful and responsive, I was very happy with their work.
2. My interviews with the media- We received lots of press locally in Oaxaca and National attention. Many Mexicans are aware of this case, and should produce leads.
3. Met with Jenny's friends in Mexico, they were very helpful and patient with me.
4. Met with the Chinese Business group and embassy security, waiting for their action.
5. Traveled the area extensively to drum up information- was very productive.
6. My private investigation team- Have done everything I expected and more, I am very lucky to have them on my side.
This was a very positive week in Oaxaca, and it will produce results.
Thanks again for all of your good thoughts and prayers.

May 20, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I will be heading to Mexico soon, to nail down the new leads.

May 22, 2016
I am going to need everyone's help in pressuring Corona to give us information on the driver that picked up Jenny. I will have details on how soon..Please help!

May 23, 2016
Jenny was last seen being picked up by a driver from Corona. Corona has yet to provide any information, we have waited for 7 days for a response.

May 24, 2016 · Mexico City, Mexico
Eight days and still no word from Corona.

May 24, 2016
Corona has finally responded, and promised information soon. Thanks to all who pushed them to respond!

May 27, 2016 · Seattle, WA
More Excuses from Corona heading into Day 12 and no results

May 25, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Corona has finally given trucks that were on the road in the area where Jenny was taken- but NO names. Let's keep the pressure on!!

May 29, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Corona is showing some effort, but still no driver. I hope we have some positive results soon.

May 30, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Update: Corona has sent the driver information to the "authorities", but refuse to send to my Private Investigator is the ONLY one I trust. If I do not hear back from Corona buy tomorrow. I will have everyone call Francisco Suarez at Corona to ask him why he is not cooperating

May 31, 2016
Please send me press contacts- I don't care if who they are...
Corona and the Oaxaca police are now playing games, and NO drivers interviewed after 15 days

June 4, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I prayed for Jenny's safe return in this beautiful church in Oaxaca

June 4, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The Oaxaca Police are now stalling. We require their written permission to interview the Corona drivers, and the "prosecutor" will not answer our calls. We will keep pressuring him, and hope to have access by Monday- One MONTH after we found the Corona connection.

June 6, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I am planning my 4th flight back down to Mexico. Lets hope this trip gets us to our goal of getting Jenny home safe!

June 8, 2016
Corona is helping with the investigation, and I am pleased so far with their assistance. I will have more details at the end of the week. This would not be possible without YOU. Thank You!

June 11, 2016
My meetings with Corona and my PI team in Mexico City and Oaxaca- Very productive!

June 11, 2016
Excellent meeting with my new lawyer in Mexico City. Everado will be able to expedite the investigation due to his experience and political clout. I am so pleased he has joined my team!

June 12, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Summary of my 4th trip to Mexico:
Wednesday: Met with several different lawyers in Mexico City, found one of the best lawyers for the case.
Thursday: Met with the attorney general's office with my new lawyer, the Corona team, and my PI. Firmed up logistics for the Oaxaca trip. Positive meetings.
Friday- Flew to Oaxaca with Corona and my PI
Met with the Oaxaca police and prosecutors office- Disappointing, and frustrating. The police have done work on the case, but refused to share any information on the Corona third party drivers, and would not give us permission to interview the potential suspects. My attorney knows their boss personally and will hold their "feet to the fire" this week.
2nd meeting with Corona , and the transportation companies- Excellent meetings! Leveraging Corona, met with the upper level managers from the transportation companies. The managers were honest, open and helpful. This is a big step, circumventing the police's inaction. We are now allowed full access to the drivers that were in the area where Jenny disappeared.
Great Week- lots of progress!

June 13, 2016 · Seattle, WA
My meeting with Corona and the transportation Company were productive in Oaxaca, Mexico

June 17, 2016
I am doing a big twitter launch on updates to the media this weekend. I will use Laura Barajas Buzzfeed story to get some more attention to the case.

June 21, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Due to the lackluster performance of the Oaxaca police, We are moving the case to a new prosecutor. The Attorney General has pledged far more support than what we have been receiving.

July 4, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I am hopeful for action this week, and have been promised that the case will speed up. It is long overdue.

July 5, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Had some serious discussions with my legal and investigative teams to push the Mexican authorities to get moving on Jenny's case. We are going to start the new media push soon to get the word out.

July 6, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The "special task force" for Jenny's case has done absolutely nothing. Spread the word to the media, we need to get pressure on the authorities.

July 14, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The media push is working! The new prosecutor is finally working on Jenny's case!

July 16, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Fantastic News! The Billboards are up! We will get leads soon!

July 16, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The police are finally doing some work. If they remain focused on Jenny's case, (big if) we should have some information from the Corona truck drivers in the next couple weeks. I will remain positive and hopeful that this news will narrow the search for Jenny.

July 25, 2016
Important interviews with Corona drivers by the police this week Lets hope for results and no more delays.

July 28, 2016
More stalling and excuses by the Oaxaca police. I am completely frustrated with the complacent attitudes of the authorities.

July 28, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Things look gloomy, but please know that I will never give up on finding my wife. Never.

July 28, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Here is what is going on in the investigation of Jenny's disappearance.
On April 12th several credible witnesses (verified by my PI and 2 prosecutors) saw Jenny get into a truck with a Corona logo. We have several different GPS coordinates showing what driver was at what area. We have known this information for months, and have very little movement from the police. Jenny also had only 40 pesos and needed to get to an ATM immediately.( witnesses accounts) According to her bank records, she never made it to the bank machine on April 12th, or anytime after that.
Either the witnesses or the drivers know what happened- this is a slam dunk lead. Yet after two months, we have yet to get full access to the drivers. I'm sick to my stomach.

July 29, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I am accessing additional detectives from outside Mexico. I think its a good idea to get some fresh eyes on this case. Hopefully we get a new strategy in place and improve the investigation.

August 1, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I have had a chance to catch up with my legal team. I have been assured that we are getting close to getting some answers from the Corona drivers in the next two weeks. I am cautiously optimistic there will be a break in the case in this time frame. I also realize that processes in Mexico are very slow. I will try to remain patient.

August 17, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Big news on the investigation.
According to the GPS coordinates, the two drivers who were in the area that Jenny was picked up, ( both testified that they were in a convoy together, and one said he was with his family in the truck, claiming Jenny could not fit in his cab) are refusing polygraph testing. We need to push the police to order polygraphs. I hope and pray that the prosecutor takes action immediately. Please share! We need the media on this discovery!

August 23, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The polygraphs by the police are happening within the next week.I am demanding a third party to observe the test, so everything is completely transparent.

September 1, 2016
I am in Mexico for meetings with my attorney, private investigator, and the prosecutor of the special task force in Oaxaca. I will have updates and a press release at the end of the week.

September 3, 2016
Update on the investigation of Jenny's disappearance. I met with the Attorney General of Oaxaca, the Chief Prosecutor of the special tasks force, and have been assured that there will be significant action against the suspected individuals in the case. This will happen within two weeks. (I have been promised) This is due to bringing in a specialist from the Central Government. I am working with my team to formulate an official press release that will highlight suspicious activities by those who may be protecting their interests.

September 17, 2016 · Seattle, WA
Sorry haven't posted in a while. I have been waiting for some news on the investigation. I have been promised action by the police, yet nothing has occurred. I will be working on all that I know about the investigation in a press release. I was waiting for help from a professional writer, but also have yet to get any assistance.

October 10, 2016 · Seattle, WA
We have been promised action by the police in the next week. Due to the past history of their behavior, I have my doubts. I will be planning to schedule additional meetings to force them to act.

October 18, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The authorities took action in the investigation on Friday, I am waiting for the official police report to comment. From what I have heard so far, there were positive results.

October 21, 2016 · Seattle, WA
The police are now actively following substantial leads on Jenny's case. This is a CRUCIAL phase in the investigation, and I am unable to disclose any additional details. I will be heading back to Mexico soon. Lets all hope for positive outcomes!

November 19, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I will be circling back with the prosecution team for updates after Thanksgiving. I am hoping for significant updates on the investigation.

October 31, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I will be getting updates on the investigation within the next week. I pray that the police have made progress

November 29, 2016 · Seattle, WA
I am waiting for the change in Prosecutor due to the shift in administrations in Oaxaca. I am hoping to have renewed efforts from the new government.

December 2, 2016 · Seattle, WA
This is my where we are in the investigation: I apologize for limited communication- I have been battling depression lately.
We have a suspect. I was promised that there was a strong commitment to peruse evidence in the case (phone records, interviews, more polygraphs)
I was supposed to meet with the prosecutor, but missed my connecting flight- my fault not knowing a small airlines policies.( No automatic ticket printing- had to go to the check-in counter-which was closed) Therefore, I missed the meeting. Since then, there has been no word. We are looking to pick back up with a new administration in December. If I feel that I am getting the "same old run-around" I am going to have to attempt new strategies to find my wife.

December 16, 2016
We had very encouraging discussions with the new prosecutor. He was very honest and open. ( a big change from the last administration) I am optimistic that we will see progress in the case within the next 30 days.

January 26, 2017
Not much...They are "working on the case"

January 30, 2017
Here is the latest update on the case:
The police are continuing the investigation of the main suspects. I am hoping this will lead to an arrest soon. I wish I could say more, but hopefully we will get some positive results in the upcoming months.

Anyone notice Jenny just added a new friend on Facebook? Now up to 37.

  • #234
Thanks so much for your effort, Kaaboom. That timeline of JR's posts was a lot of work!

Laid out like this, it's heartbreaking to read the roller coaster JR has been on. He has worked extremely hard to find Jenny, trying to climb over or blast through the brick wall of the Mexican legal system. Even though it's been frustrating for us at times awaiting his updates, and finding them lacking essential information, his focus is on Jenny, not outsiders, as it should be. I truly hope he gets answers. They are long overdue.

It seems he updated the go fund me acct. also as I am sure his funds are low.
I agree with a post upwards I believe gigtu that we may never know what happened to Jenny.
Has anyone seen whether Jenny missing is in the news in China? I feel for her family back home in China.

That would explain why he decided to post the update on FB, which isn't really any update at all. It might work to get him another $40 or $50, but that's about all. I don't think most of his donors ar buying his BS anymore.

He seems to have given up on raising money. The last time he came out and asked for donations was five months ago and he got a pittance. At that time he said that his expenses so far had been over $20K. That's $5K over his 🤬🤬🤬 goal, which he didn't meet.

Even if doners still support him, they aren't going to keep donating without some feeling that it's helping. I guess what I would do is post an update with a detailed accounting of how the donations (and his own money) had been spent so people could see what is going on. But the bottom line is that this just isn't one of those big money raising cases like Sherri Papini. Some are. Some aren't.

Isn't there a dead line for having a 🤬🤬🤬 account? I ask because I have clicked on some and the 🤬🤬🤬'S have ended.

Thanks for the timeline. It was super helpful to have everything in one place. Great work Kaaboom!!

I really feel for this guy. Mexico is not the place you want anything to happen to you.. ever!!! Governments horrible and totally corrupt. It wouldn't surprise me if they knew who has her or did something to her and are covering it up.

I'm from California and use to go into Mexico all the time, but not since the Cartel took over. It's widely publicized not to travel there.

Makes me so sad for Jenny's family and friends. Props to JR for continuing his search.
