Any locals have any idea where the school would be that he dropped his nephew off at?

  • #542
To add he was booked stemming from violating a personal protective order from 2 months ago.

Yes, that's what they have been holding him on, for the past two days. Now they have to either charge him or release him. Sounds like they are planning to release him!!

But what if Dad or the girlfriend gave her the jacket? Maybe mom had never seen it.

Good point. I hope LE had SAR dogs check the jacket for Bianca's scent.

Great...just like jerice Hunter.

Well that's odd. If the nephew saw B in the car 8:10 AM (alive I assume), what happened after that? If she was alive, he would have had to kill her in the car (vs. out in public). Meaning the chances of a dead body in the car are pretty great.

1 - if he killed her prior, then put her in the car "sleeping".
2 - if he killed her in the car, then dumped her

Wouldn't a cadaver dog hit on that pretty quickly? I have a hard time wrapping my head around him killing her somewhere else then dumping her. That wouldn't be an accident (beating) IMHO.

MOO

Mel

Sorry to be graphic but honestly he could have dumped her into the river alive...the water is C.O.L.D this time of year...

Was this school WCC or next the car jacking location? Sorry I am only able to jump on & off here sporadically today...

I wonder if they can give the 15 yr old nephew a poly.

I'm sorry, but if that family/those residing in the home with DL saw him beating his child and did not report it, I don't believe a word from any of them.

MSM reported the nephew is 15, so likely a local HS.

This link still works - and it says both houses - the mom's and the dad's.

http://detnews.com/article/20111205...f-homes-of-missing-girl--father#ixzz1fg4mueJS

Thanks JeannaT, that link works. However, it does not actually say that the mother's house was searched:

"Detroit— FBI agents are searching for evidence at the Detroit home of missing 2-year-old Bianca Jones' father. Detroit Police investigators also have cordoned off a two-block area around the family's house on Custer, east of Woodward.

At least eight Detroit police vehicles are blocking access to the family's home. Officers are going door-to-door and searching a vacant field nearby."

But now that I think about it, the first place he went after hiding the body was to the mother's house. He could easily have left some kind of evidence there, intentionally or not.

I'm also thinking that between interrogatopns, he was put in a cell with another inmate and DL did some talkin'. Judging from his Facebook page, he likes to listen to himself.

I thought of that possibility, but the pink jacket shown in the video looks too big for a just-turned-two-year-old. jmo

BBM-this is the first I have heard of this! I wonder if they saw him running from the scene of where he said the carjacking took place or where the car was ultimately found. Did the witness see the carjacking??? Or just him running with a gun and no car in sight?

My question too. I'm really curious now about if he was running from the area where the "carjackers" took the vehicle or running from the area where the car was found.:waitasec: I hope we get a clarification on this quickly.

Now I am wondering how soon they might have divers or search equipment at the river. :(

That won't be an easy task. The Detroit River is murky and very deep in certain areas much like the river in Chicago - even without the green dye :D Unless DPD has sonar equipment to detect a body in a specific location, it could take a while to recover anything from the river. jmo

Yes, you're right. It's only "cordoned off".

Thanks Cubby - didn't see that. I will check out in a few minutes - got some urgent items at work requiring my attention...BRB

Bianca is very tall for her age, so a larger coat purchased a little large for extra room to grow might not be out of the question.

Has the size been reported of the coat found?

updated story
A source told The News that Lane scored poorly when asked two specific questions: "Did you have anything to do with her disappearance?" and "Do you know where she is now?"

Lane is being held by police on a traffic warrant.

Meanwhile, investigators have obtained surveillance camera footage in an attempt to corroborate Lane's carjacking report, the source said.

Lane is seen on a school surveillance tape dropping off a 15-year-old nephew at approximately 8:10 a.m. Friday.

Police interviewed the nephew, who said Bianca was in the car when he arrived at school.

Investigators also have interviewed witnesses who reported seeing Lane between 8 a.m. and when he reported his daughter missing around 10 a.m. Friday.

One witness reported seeing Lane running from the scene of the carjacking. Lane was carrying a firearm, according to the source.

From The Detroit News: http://detnews.com/article/20111205...t-girl--volunteers-canvass-area#ixzz1fgbXqCgN

It's really beginning to sound like at least some of what he said is true . . . I'm a little surprised that she was in the car (apparently alive) at 8.

And that does begin to explain why he was up and out so early - he had to take the boy to school.

FYI....it appears a lot of press is just updating their last story and not writing a new article. Makes it very confusing when trying to find new information.
