It is always especially troubling when there is no word in a missing person case over the holidays when it would be so unlike them not to contact their loved ones if they can. The weather is being especially mild after the first couple of snow blasts we got initially, it makes me think she is somewhere indoors, since the snow cover has not been that much since Halloween.

I hope the small group of searchers keep looking for Chelsea. She might have left a trail by pulling off her plastic leaves one at a time.

Monroe County restaurant holds fundraiser for Chelsea Bruck search fund Rick Adams reports on Dec 29, '14 6:37 pm est
Video

Many came out to Nick and Nino's in Monroe County on Monday to get a good meal and more importantly to help out the Bruck family...

“It's a very small town and we're very close here in this town and just doing whatever we can to help,” said Nino Perna, owner...

“I live in the most awesome community in the world the outpouring of support has been phenomenal, but I wouldn't expect anything less,” said Leannda Bruck.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the whereabouts of Chelsea Bruck. If you know anything about her disappearance you are being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-773-2587.

Interesting sad side note from not too far from Monroe: I wonder if they can help with Chelsea's case too, if approached by families near Detroit?

The reward was announced Monday by police and the head of the Detroit Crime Commission, a private agency that serves as a liaison between the public and law enforcement. Commissioner director Andy Arena says the money is coming from families that know the victims. They don't want to be identified. Arena, a former FBI agent, says it's one of the largest rewards he's seen.

I hope that LE has more info than they're sharing with the public. So sad for the Bruck family!

Not sure what you're suggesting here  The $100K award in the Grosse Pointe teen's murder case has been posted by family friends and/or other community members who want the shooter caught and brought to justice. How is this related to Chelsea Bruck disappearance?

I believe they do, and that they want to make sure they have as much evidence to secure a conviction. My *speculation* is based on the eye witness report, the multitude of cameras at the event, the "knowns" and known groupies of this band, their facebook followers, their email lists, and so forth and so on.

Yes, I think they know, but don't know exactly where Chelsea is......"yet".
This is only opinion and speculation, and my own deductive reasoning.

Jmo, but I don't have the impression that police know what happened and/or who may have been involved. Hope I am wrong, of course...but not feeling especially optimistic.

In the dozens of cases when young girls have run off to meet men they met online, LE releases the name of the man as soon as it is known, as well as any vehicle info. They don't hold it back, hoping to find him.

I meant this organization, maybe help liaise for the investigation in Chelsea's case, ¨the Detroit Crime Commission, a private agency that serves as a liaison between the public and law enforcement.¨

Story of the year: Bruck’s disappearance
By Ray Kisonas as of Wednesday, Dec 31, '14, 07:47 a.m.
The disappearance of Chelsea Bruck was ranked the biggest story of the year, as voted on by Monroe News staff.

Where in the world is Chelsea Bruck?

The mysterious disappearance of the 22-year-old Maybee woman has caused anguish for the family, perplexed law enforcement officials, spread concern throughout the community and filled churches with prayers.

The Monroe News staff voted the disappearance of Chelsea Bruck as 2014’s top story. It is a story filled with sadness, intrigue and bewilderment...

What makes it even more astonishing is the connection to the Niswender family of Monroe. Julia was killed in Ypsilanti two years ago, and her case remains unsolved. Her twin sister, Jennifer, is best friends with Kassie, Chelsea’s older sister.

Adding to the extraordinary coincidences, the twins’ mother, Kim Turnquist, was in a Monroe bar recently and happened to play darts against Debi Kamin, whose daughter, Chelsea Small, was killed in Taylor last year in a robbery and murder that also remains unsolved. All three families have since joined together.

The mission of the Detroit Crime Commission is to lessen the burdens of government and the citizens of the southeast Michigan area by facilitating the prevention, investigation and prosecution of crime. A special emphasis will be placed on criminal enterprises that prey upon the citizens of the metropolitan Detroit area...

Generally speaking, "metropolitan Detroit" encompasses Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.

There's a good chance the POI could have connections in Detroit and in those counties. In any case, their attention would make those counties less fertile ground for the same kind of thing happening to more young women. It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch in trying to spread awareness.

A very nice article about Chelsea and her family, and their faith. The anchor tattoo was in honor of her brother who was in the Navy. The article also says they nearly lost Kassie about eight years ago, when her appendix ruptured.

(January 28 will be Chelsea's 23rd birthday)

Spellbound, thank you for posting that beautiful article about Chelsea's family. It is compelling me to offer up this prayer, and I ask that others join me, if they so choose:

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, we trust Your will in all matters. Please bless and guide our law enforcement officials and lead them to Chelsea. Lord, we ask that you touch the heart and soul of those who have knowledge of Chelsea's disappearance, and compel them to come forward with information. And most of all Lord, we ask that you continue to send your angels of compassion to circle and give comfort to Chelsea's good family. We ask that You continue to grace them with courage and strength, insight and wisdom.
We ask this in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen.

May the new year bring Chelsea home to her own. Thanks for the information Spellbound. It's a sweet informative look into the Bruck's lives and who Chelsea is.
Leannda said Chelsea, an avid “Doctor Who” TV series and “Final Fantasy” game fan, loves her siblings more than anyone else. The anchor tattoo behind Chelsea’s right ear, now being cited as a way to identify her in the search, was in honor of her brother, who served in the Navy.

Happy New Year to you and all the WS crew here, especially Kilen.

You are joined in prayer. Amen
