Thank you for this, tarabull. I had seen the original articles on the "officer" and the runaway, but not this follow-up. We are hearing about the trafficking of young girls more often. Part of me wants to believe this is what happened to CB, because it means she is alive somewhere and will be found. But the thought of what any girl/woman would be going through after this long is so hard to accept. How do you ever get over it?

I'm sorry, I think this band/music/celebrity thing is getting off track and it's because of my post! :blushing: I'll try to better explain what I meant:

I thought that TMAN2014 was theorizing (post #777) that Chelsea may have been starstruck and lured away by a band member of PAP. I'm not saying that couldn't have happened. I was saying that I don't think that any of the members of PAP, or any other local Monroe band for that matter, would elicit much excitement in a local young woman beyond what any other guy might. They're just guys who happen to be in bands. They're not Eminem or Kid Rock, and that was my point.

In any case, I think we can probably safely rule out Eminem and Kid Rock as having been involved in Chelsea's disappearance. Sorry for the confusion, I hope this post helps clear things up!

Exactly the reason that I even mentioned Eminem and Kid Rock. Local bands are a dime a dozen - just ask any young couple who's looking for a group to play at their wedding. My point was that if someone wanted to latch onto the coattails of renowned music stars, there are two who reside in the Greater Detroit area. I hope the members of PAP have "day" jobs because I doubt that they can really earn a living as a small town heavy metal band. :moo:

Please no need to say sorry - your theory is as good as any of mine... and I've seen young gals (at least when I was young) following local bands and focus upon particular band members.

Still working on "the list" showing ways crimes like this might get solved:

Someone saw or sees something and comes forward.
Surveillance video.
Forensics, finding things discarded belong to victim.
Social media, phone records.
Thefts, fires, other events happening shortly after the crime committed by perp.
Finding victim.
Gumshoe detective work finds connection other victims and/or recent assults, robberies, etc.
Jail house snitch or someone seeking favor with LE offers up info.
Perp talks to other, or draws attention, may even visit family events.

I get the feeling that LE truly has no leads in this case. Not seeing anything to make me think they are "watching" someone. Hope I am wrong...but it seems like if they really have followed up on every "tip", looked into the Ohio perp, etc...they are grasping at every straw. Jmo

I believe that they are following up on every lead. I had sent a name of a person a couple weeks ago and received a follow up email yesterday. I must admit it was a loose connection to the band/halloween party but resembled the sketch POI.

I wanted to at least let this group know that there is still follow up on tips sent in.

If LE is taking all tips seriously and following them, they probably do not know who their perp is, jmo. I know they have to follow all leads to protect their case, so defense can't say they focused only on one person...but it is not comforting to me to think they really have no idea who that guy is. And that is what I believe. Jmo

That is a very good question to pose. I have heard Perps will attend fundraisers, searches etc. of their victims.

Sometimes they try to help investigate too.

Perhaps, LE has a Suspect identified in Chelsea's case and this is why they were able to come to this conclusion so swiftly. I don't know...I just feel that it is such a strong statement by LE w/out any evidence to back it up! I would hope they would not rule out, any such connection, w/ out a valid reason to do so.

As family, this must all be so frustrating, Klynn. So many in the community are hoping and praying. I have my purple wreath in the front window, and just the other day I noticed a neighbor kitty-corner to me with a pretty purple bow on their mailbox now. The support is still growing.

At first police looked at a possible connection between Bruck's disappearance and Niswinder's death, but did not find one.

With all due respect to our LE heroes....they should keep looking for that connection!

Maybe it's that they have a suspect in Julia's case that can be ruled out as suspect in Chelsea's case because they know exactly where that person is at all times for one reason or another. Maybe they know the suspected murderer is in jail or being watched around the clock by LE until they can build/prove a solid enough case against that person to make an arrest. If LE is by chance able to provide an alibi for the suspect that would make them confident enough to say they can "rule out a connection". That being said...if by chance that were the case, they could be mistaken about their suspect and the two cases could then be related.
I don't believe in coincidences, and there are just way to many things in common between the two girl's in my opinion to rule out a connection unless of course there's concrete proof/evidence that there's no connection.

The only thing missing is Bruck herself. The 22-year-old vanished three months ago in the wide open spaces of rural Monroe County.

"People don't just disappear," said her mother, Leannda. "This is not supposed to happen in small-town USA."

Bruck was last seen leaving a raucous Halloween party whose attendees were too drunk or high to help police in their investigation.

The connection between the two young women was suggested to be casual, at best, and that two young women from the same small community just happened to be targeted. Fast forward just a few days, I read that Jennifer Niswender would be Kassandra Bruck's Maid of Honor. Then, a couple of days later, I come across a photo of the Niswender twins with Chelsea and Kassie Bruck.

Casual acquaintances? :waitasec: The sisters are photographed together - a photo that includes now-deceased Julia Niswender and now-missing Chelsea Bruck - and Jennifer Niswender is Kassie Bruck's Maid of Honor!!! Pardon me, please, but this speaks to more than "casual" acquaintance. :moo:

Doesn't it beg the question...could this be targeting Kassandra or the Wedding? A fluke coincidence perhaps but 2 key wedding party members?!
