I would start with the Monroe Evening News...maybe it's just Monroe News now, but anything going on in the county or surrounding areas would likely be reported there. Not sure how far back they archive.
Also check in with the chamber of commerce.

I tell my female friends I don't want to hear them whine as long as they are dishing out money for their kids to buy, and further perpetuate a horrific mentality. Related to this case, the people of Monroe have to ask themselves if this is a mentality/lifestyle they want to glorify and support. If they do, that is a free choice, and PAP has every right to be there and offer their music and concerts up. Bottom line, you vote with your pocketbooks.
Wish I could hit the thanks button a million times! My 19 year old daughter listens to hard core rap and its horribly offensive to women, (and I'm no prude. I'm a huge Korn fan), I ask her "How can you defend this music?" She rolls her eyes. I mean wth?

Hi AuntRoses!

I completely understand and thank you for your response. I agree with your point about violence against women, however I don't think PAP (whilst their lyrics are gruesome and not my thing.. More of a cheesy pop boyband in the early 2000s kinda gal) is the connection that a lot of people who may have no idea about the hardcore scene may assume, KWIM?

Basically they're gruesome, macabre and horrible. It's like shock rock, it's to show who's the most "out there" and who can get the biggest reaction (I can't speak for all of the scene but a lot of bands with gruesome and violent lyrics do so IMO). I don't think the perp actually took any of these lyrics literally. It's like the whole Marilyn Manson thing after Columbine, if people have it in them to (unfortunately) kill, they're going to kill.
Hope my rambling makes sense, I just don't want any older websleuthers thinking the whole scene is a bunch of gore glorifying, woman bashing evil doers. Lots of love as always Aunt!

Well I took some pictures of the area and wanted to post them and show what it would be like coming down the road and what you see. Unfortunately, it will not let me upload for some reason so until I figure that out....it just keeps showing a red ! next to the pic...

Perhaps the mod's can help you, if you'd like to ask?

Thank you, monster21 and to all, for all the info and great discussion.

Maybe the file size is too big I have had this problem before a moderator should be able to give you advice.

You can resize them easily in 'paint'. I think that's standard with every computer so you should have it on yours. :) When you try to load the image, the error should tell you what you are doing wrong, ad if it is size it will tell you the limits.

May I suggest the Find Chelsea organizers talk to the Principal of the High school where Chelsea graduated, the local church officials, and the local chapters of the boy and girl scouts to organize a Saturday morning of "Chores for Chelsea". The idea would be for each individual student (or volunteer of any age) to hire themselves out for a chore to benefit the Find Chelsea effort. These chores could be cleaning out a garage, hauling away an old piece of furniture, painting a garage door, washing windows, waxing a car, etc. The minimum donation requested would be $25.00 for any given chore. All chore volunteers could meet at the courthouse steps or wherever at 4pm on that Saturday where the local paper could take a group picture of these awesome volunteers as they turn in their donations!

Something tells me the people of Monroe, MI could pull off an incredible "Chores for Chelsea" day, and the beauty of it is that everyone can participate! And really feel good about doing something to help bring Chelsea home!

Great idea, rosefromangels, all in one impeccable paragraph. You should be writing policy for big guns on this.

I don't even want to look at it again. After hours and hours of exposure, the music stopped mattering to me, the lyrics are sick. What I can never respect is that

1. the poster of the women that promoted the concert and

2. their Ninja theme,

the rest of what I don't like about BM's parties, there's no point in airing here, only what helps find Chelsea.

It's been awfully quiet lately with regard to progress in the Chelsea Bruck case and that of Julia Niswender. Monroe LE is awaiting results of forensic testing on items possibly related to Chelsea's disappearance. Hearing in Julia's stepfather's child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 case was delayed for a month in light of new evidence provided by prosecutor to James Turnquist's defense attorney. Anyone have thoughts on the "silence" and what might be transpiring?

With every fiber in my being, I believe you are right. I think we should expect another major advancement soon. Praying this is so.

Hopefully some recon and secret searches based on recent observations.

As soon as LE confirms the clothing is chelsea's I plan to send in a tip for LE to check all dumpsters in the general area with cadaver dogs. Of course locals could examine the many water areas for remains. This does not eliminate the possibility she is alive. I feel mom is taking care of that end of the search. Good websleuthing everyone!

The above pictures were taken from Peters RD in Flat Rock, facing north to Van Horn RD. They are the buildings in the field across from the trailer park. The bottom two pictures are taken from Peters Rd looking to the left towards the trailer park so you can see how visible it is from that area of the road.

I have several more I am going to try and keep posting then I will edit to describe it once I see which ones it lets me load....bear with me..

You got you photos posted ^^ - good job! Extra thanks!

Good pics, monster! Gawd, but that whole area looks desolate and creepy. I can imagine no one would even notice someone out there at 3 am, particularly if they turned off any lights.

field1.jpg Part of field by the buildings.

fieldfromde.jpg Sitting in the entrance of trailer park that lets out on Peters Rd.

Peters Rd seems to be a pretty busy and often traveled road. While doing this, I drove through the trailer park which had a TON of kids outside playing and adults out, and a good number of cars using Peters Rd as a cut through to other major roads. I often had cars in front of me or behind me so although some parts may look isolated, it seemed there was always a car either going into or out of the trailer park onto Peters at the entrance by the buildings or at the other end, or cars just traveling down it to get to another road. Oh and the Comcast guy showed up and sat there for awhile as I was leaving... ha! I would say I drove around for about 10 minutes and there were at least 5+ cars that I saw moving about....if anyone cared to know that.

The pictures below (no clue why they are all over the place, it's driving me nuts trying to do this!!) are showing Peters Rd where it goes from gravel to paved and opens up to a field and "pond". You can see the pond that appears after the wooded area. The fielded area then opens up to a subdivision and church I believe. If you look wayyyy in the distance in the back, it is another trailer park that I just noticed and never knew was around here. It is off Van Horn Rd to the east. I also drove through there and the back and side of it "back up" to the field and search area. There is just a regular yard fence that separates the yards from the field from what I could see. This trailer park seemed..umm.."less well kept" than the one near the building site...if you catch my drift. Just thought it was interesting to note two trailer parks that surround this area.

I'm so sorry these posts are all over the place. For some reason it is only working when I break it up this like. I wanted to put them all in order from traveling from Vreeland Rd, down Peters, to Van Horn, so you can get a full idea. Maybe one day I'll figure that out. Ha!

Below are pictures of Peters Rd where it turns to go back south to Vreeland, where Target Steel is. Also, I took pictures of the side of the road where you can see the garbage and debris. I noticed that at least 3 tvs were thrown onto the side of the road and broke in this area, which seemed odd, along with the mattress, regular garbage, and at one point I saw a black garbage bag on the side of the road that seemed full of mud or dirt but I didn't want to check....

After seeing the road in this condition, is what makes me think back to the chance of finding a "cloth leaf" just laying on the grass. I'm not saying whoever reported that is lying but my focus was on so much other junk and garbage that it is really making me wonder how it came about. But maybe all of the garbage and debris came from somewhere like blowing garbage cans, opened garbage bags, or anywhere else possible..
