I'm so sorry these posts are all over the place. For some reason it is only working when I break it up this like. I wanted to put them all in order from traveling from Vreeland Rd, down Peters, to Van Horn, so you can get a full idea. Maybe one day I'll figure that out. Ha!

Below are pictures of Peters Rd where it turns to go back south to Vreeland, where Target Steel is. Also, I took pictures of the side of the road where you can see the garbage and debris. I noticed that at least 3 tvs were thrown onto the side of the road and broke in this area, which seemed odd, along with the mattress, regular garbage, and at one point I saw a black garbage bag on the side of the road that seemed full of mud or dirt but I didn't want to check....

After seeing the road in this condition, is what makes me think back to the chance of finding a "cloth leaf" just laying on the grass. I'm not saying whoever reported that is lying but my focus was on so much other junk and garbage that it is really making me wonder how it came about. But maybe all of the garbage and debris came from somewhere like blowing garbage cans, opened garbage bags, or anywhere else possible..

See my bold - YES, exactly. The "finding" and reporting of that leaf was *not* a random find IMO. Agree completely.
GREAT WORK - THANK YOU!:takeabow:

One thing that is certain looking at those pic Monster12 uploaded (thanks again Monster!!!!). It really helps me visualize the *enormity* of the task that LE has before them. They are truly incredible, and their dedication in this case has been impressive. Thank you LE! Continued prayers for resolution soon.

Hi everyone...I have been silently following along on Chelsea's case here, as well as posting on Julia Niswender's tragic case (which is a bit closer to home for me since I live in Ann Arbor and attended EMU). Just wanted to note that from most trailer parks I have seen, it is not uncommon to see a families belongings on the side of the road from being evicted from the trailer park (sad!! :( ) I think everyone's points about how the person who found the potential "leaf" from Chelsea's costume are spot on. What I am thinking is that LE is withholding other items found near or with the leaf that would further identify the belongings as Chelsea's. ...maybe only to further seek out a POI? Maybe all items of clothing were there as well, but maybe one specific thing was missing? LE must have a substantial reason to have whatever was found tested. Not including family in ALL information is pretty standard procedure only because it can compromise the investigation. I think that whatever this woman found is more than what we know....thoughts?

I do have some more of just the wooded areas, roads leading up to this area, and fenced areas. I posted the main ones, but yes, the area is quite extensive and goes back deep and wide. The buildings alone gave me the creeps that I couldn't even imagine searching through the woods nearby.

I wonder how far that pond is from where any clothing /items were found. It just gives me a creepy vibe.

Wonderful work, monster. We all are very appreciative. You have some very good photos and it brings things into a clearer focus. Not sure where it will lead, but it seems we are finally seeing some progress.

Please, all you want, if you ask me. Fantastic stuff, monster12

What was your sense of things, as you understand Chelsea's disappearance so well? What came to mind about this discovery of her things there?

Are those questions to me or the poster above? If it's to me, I don't think I understand your question.

Very much, you monster12, thank you, sorry bout that.

What possibilities came to mind of how Chelsea's things may have ended up there, as you drove around and took pictures, doesn't have to be right, just what thoughts sparked as possibilities?

The above pictures were taken from Peters RD in Flat Rock, facing north to Van Horn RD. They are the buildings in the field across from the trailer park. The bottom two pictures are taken from Peters Rd looking to the left towards the trailer park so you can see how visible it is from that area of the road.

I have several more I am going to try and keep posting then I will edit to describe it once I see which ones it lets me load....bear with me..

Hey there .... the I&M (illinois and michigan) Canal runs throw my town ... there is a building pretty much identical at the beginning of it. Shambles and all. There is also one in the next town over on the canal. My family has lived her for over a half a century and we never knew what they were used for (we guessed possible tolls along the canal when they turned it into a path).

Anyway, is there a canal around that area anywhere (or a towpath???)?

Edited to say: GREAT WORK BTW!!! It is absolutely awesome sleuthing!

I am asking b/c off of the towpath in my area, there are duck ponds, caves, an area called split rock that they broke to build the canal ... just thinking of all the hiding spots along the way is eerie.

It's very good of you to share your knowledge of the area. Thank you. May I impose on you to possibly mark a google map of the areas you mean. I'd be very interested in seeing what you mean. TIA

I live in Illinios, sorry to confuse! The canal in my town goes to michigan actually and the areas look similar so I was wondering about those same kind of areas being where Monster is roaming ;-) I was actually going to take a picture of the building and path tomorrow though, just because it is so eerily similar!!!

We have not had snow in awhile. If I had to guess, I would say most of it was melted by mid/late March, I can't really remember. I know we had some warmer days starting in mid March so most of it seemed to be gone except for the large frozen piles. The past few weeks have been warmer with rain so it is all gone now.

In response to the walk from the trailer park, it would not be a far walk at all. One of the entrances to the trailer park is located near the buildings/field so you would just walk out and cross the street. I am not good at judging distances so I'm not even going to try. Ha. Some of the other parts that back up to the road and building are the "back yards" of the trailers located along the road with some trees to walk through. Very accessible.

I also thought of someone dropping/planting this "evidence" in regards to the Flat Rock false claims. But that was a few months ago it seems but maybe something was there and the weather and timing just happened to be right.

I went back on the Halloween event page and was doing some rereading. Not sure how many of you have looked on it or have access to Facebook. I found some posts that I thought were interesting. Once again, another Flat Rock reference. Someone mentioned seeing Chelsea and then had to leave the party to drive a guy back to Flat Rock early in the morning....I know it is probably just my brain reading into things too much but I can't help it when all of this seems to keep leading back to this latest "discovery".

:bump:

for reference, for later, thank you, again, monster12, the images are great. See you around soon.

I misunderstood, sorry, bit punchy. the water ways.
If you find the area you're looking for, zoom in then switch to sat, I find it easier.

@monster12: Thank you for posting the pictures.

I have several questions:
Where were the clothes found? Was it in or near the abandoned brick building?
Are there any paths in the area searched by police where one could drive a car (SUV, say).
Are there any paths from the abandoned brick building to the train tracks?
Perhaps a perpetrator broke open a freight train car and got rid of evidence that way.

The area is surrounded by fencing minus those little dirt hills and it says no trespassing and keep out. It also said something about toxic materials since it was a petroleum plant or whatever. So you wouldn't be able to get back in there unless you ignored the signs. The train yard is surrounded by fencing also but would be jumpable if you really wanted to. I think I even saw certain parts that were covered in bushes and looked like they bent the fence to get through. I feel at night one could easily get into the train area if they really wanted to.

Monster12, thanks for the photos and for scoping out the area for all of us. While far more rural, the abandoned buildings surrounded by overgrown brush looks like deserted, desolate areas of Detroit.

Re: Reward. There has been a reward posted by the family and CrimeStoppers since early in this case. If someone has information regarding Chelsea's whereabouts or knows what happened to her, or knows the individual with whom she was last seen, the person/s hasn't come forward. I have no doubt that there are people who know what happened to Chelsea that night, but for whatever reason, they're not going to share it with authorities. My guess is that these people fear for their lives or have been threatened with retaliation if they go to LE with what they know. If Chelsea's disappearance/demise is somehow linked to the band, the violent themes in the music would be enough to scare even ardent followers into keeping their mouths shut. :moo:

I know it looks that way but I wouldn't consider the surrounding area rural. Unfortunately my pictures make it look that way which is why I wanted to post more of the area around it. Maybe one day I can try to make a video driving from one Main Street to the next via Peters. This area is definitely wooded and looks that way but once on a main road I wouldn't consider it that. But yes the building definitely reminded me of Detroit also which I mentioned before. The thought of driving past them at night would terrify me.
