LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — Charges against Jaron Warner in connection with the death of his stepmom, Dee Warner, who went missing in 2021 and whose body was found last year, were dropped Tuesday.

According to court records, Jaron is no longer facing charges of accessory after the fact to a murder and tampering with evidence after a judge signed an order of nolle prosequi, dismissing all charges. His hearing scheduled for Friday has also been canceled.

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — Charges against Jaron Warner in connection with the death of his stepmom, Dee Warner, who went missing in 2021 and whose body was found last year, were dropped Tuesday.

According to court records, Jaron is no longer facing charges of accessory after the fact to a murder and tampering with evidence after a judge signed an order of nolle prosequi, dismissing all charges. His hearing scheduled for Friday has also been canceled.

Hopefully, the family will be able to find out why the charges were dropped, and also the media will be able to get a statement from the prosecutor.

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — UPDATE: According to a court document obtained by WTOL 11, the charges against Jaron Warner were dropped because authorities were unable to "locate/serve a necessary witness." The document stated the charges will be "re-issued at a later date if/when" the witness is located.

I did't hear the entire press conference, but during the Q&A, the attorney stated that there would be two additional individuals who would be added to the wrongful death lawsuit. The attorney wouldn't say who they were at this time.

In court this morning, Judge denies defense motion for change of trial venue. Judge approves defense request to move trial to January 2026 that was scheduled to begin in September 2025, due to medical situation of defense attorney.

In additon, Judge denies defense attorney's request for a Franks Hearing, and the Court addresses issues of the prosecution having access to Dee Warner's jailhouse calls.
