Doctor describes 'gruesome' injuries found on little Emma Rose Bingaman

FLINT (WJRT) (9/10/2018) - By phone Monday, a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician testified to a 67th District Court Judge about seeing 2.5 year old Emma Rose Bingaman at the hospital on the morning of Monday, July 30th.

"She had numerous stabs and lesions to the skin that were convex in origin all over her body," Hurley Medical Center's Dr. Melissa Schneider said. "She has extensive bruising to her face and her neck. Her legs - she had what appeared to be a femur fracture to her left thigh."

Dr. Schneider was also questioned about George Bingaman's reaction to his daughter's death at the hospital.

"Did he ask how Emma was or anything?" the Prosecutor asked. Dr. Schneider replied, "He did not. I had to interrupt him and tell him that, unfortunately, I was unable to revive Emma. And, that was Emma was dead. And, he said, yeah I thought so."

We are told Emma Rose's two siblings are doing well in foster care right now.

Testimony will begin in the case against their mother, Destiny Bingaman, if she's determined to be competent after a psychological evaluation.

And of course, no further court date listed for him....

Hearing for father accused of killing disabled daughter delayed 2 weeks

LINT (WJRT) (9/17/2018) - The murder case against a mid-Michigan father accused of killing his 2.5 year-old daughter has been delayed.

Witness testimony could not proceed Monday because the MDHHS employee expected to take the stand was involved in a car accident over the weekend.

Her supervisor appeared in court, explaining Nicole Sieb will not be available for the next couple of days.

Sieb is expected to be the final witness to take the stand in George Bingaman's preliminary hearing

Bingaman's defense attorney believes his client had nothing to do with the injuries. Michael Ewing has put the blame on Emma Rose's mom.

He asked that George be given bond and put on a GPS tether during Monday's hearing.

Hon. Vikki Bayeh Haley responded, "There is possibly potential for flight with this being a life offense. So I'm going to deny any request for bond."

George Bingaman will remain behind bars until his case resumes in two weeks. on Monday, October 1st.

Destiny Bingaman remains at the forensic center. The judge will review the results of her psychological exam on October 9th.

Detective: Emma Rose Bingaman’s mother hit her against crib 15 times


FLINT (WJRT) (10/23/2018) - Mom Destiny Bingaman was back in a Flint district courtroom Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. Three witnesses took the stand.

They spoke to Emma Rose's final moments and Destiny's conversation with a detective before her arrest, including her confession.

"You could see her chest, you could see the bones, they were all protruding. I observed numerous injuries, both on the front and back of her body," said Mt. Morris Township Police Detective Shaun Morey.

Williams told the Judge Destiny then admitted to striking Emma Rose against her wooden crib at least 15 times, which is why he said the toddler never had regular doctor check ups.

The Judge is now just waiting on the autopsy report before she makes a ruling on if Destiny and George Bingaman will go trial on the felony charges.
