Deputies responded to Clearwater Lane in Grand Haven Township around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they got there, deputies found a man's body in a wooded area. [Snip]...has not identified the body as belonging to McKinnon, officially, but they believe that is the case.

Grand Haven man remembered for 'outgoing' personality, love of fishing

A local man missing for over a week was found dead Wednesday, Sept. 7. He's being remembered by friends and family for his outgoing personality, love for others and passion for fishing.

There are no suspects or foul play suspected in McKinnon’s death, said Capt. Jake Sparks of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

“I don’t believe it’s going to be a criminal incident at this time,” Sparks said Thursday. “We’re waiting on the final autopsy results, which are still ongoing.”

So sad. In the article it looks like he has a kitty who really loves him. That always makes me sad, too. Animals don’t understand where their friend has gone. I hope someone can take in his kitty in honor of him. Rest In Peace James.
