It is raining and very cold in Norton Shores. Silver Lake park is over 3,000 acres. It would take a big effort for citizens to search that park. Animals dug up the remains of the missing family of 4 here in California. It is very hard for predators to hide a body for very long.

Goldenbear, it is actually unseasonably warm today, in the 60s. This is causing severe thunderstorms and tornadic activity. I am expecting to lose power any minute...thunder, lightening, gusting winds up to 60 mph, heavy rain...waves of fast moving storms.

This is not normal November weather here.

Stay Safe Flutterby80 and BetteDavisEyes and everybody in Michigan, and the other states that are experiencing this weather.
Thoughts and prayers to you all!

It may take over a year to find Jessica. The family will come to realize this. Searches for her haven't really started. All parks and roadsides need to be searched starting from where she disappeared and working outwards. TES would be a great help if they could come. Klass kids also. Both of the men who started these organizations lost their daughters to predators. Happy Christmas season Websleuths.

Not sure how stumbling upon a body while hunting is "finally" helping LE? Like they usually just step over it and go on hunting? I think it is not unusual for hunters to find people who have gone missing.. either thru abduction, suicide, people with dementia who became lost... probably a few in MI each fall... they are not out searching..or trying to 'help" LE... they are hunting, and if they come across a body, they are going to let LE know...
That said, if jessica is found deceased, it would not surprise me if a hunter stumbles upon her remains... best chance...

They must be going from the angle that help, even if inadvertent or unintended, is help nonetheless.

Our power went out at 8:50 last night while we were watching The Weather Channel. Current DTE estimates are that power might be restored by this Friday. I stayed at home today but was ready to move into a local hotel when DH got home from work. We will stay in the hotel until the power is back on at home (a neighbor will call us). DH will go to work tomorrow, and I might head out to the mall for a few hours because I don't want to sit around in a hotel room all day. A generator is on the holiday gift list this year!

Stay warm! LOTS of people without power. We had 67 mph gusts here last evening.. no idea how we have power! Usually a chipmunk hiccups next to the transformer and we lose power! Get a start on your Christmas shopping!

Are they running the hotel hot tub on that generator? Sorry you guys lost power, but sounds like you are staying comfy. I'm glad you are ok!

We somehow didn't lose power. It blinked a lot, but that was it. I am pretty shocked, as we lose power all the time. Sometimes for no apparent reason!

I lost some branches and a few shingles. Nothing compared to so many others.

Fluttweby80 warned me that the power was going out across Michigan. So glad all are well and have found ways to cope. I have found nothing new on Jessica, remains, bodies ,or significant injuries in Michigan from the storm.Happy Christmas season Websleuths.

Yay!! :) You are doing okay, too!! I am glad you checked in with us!!
I am glad it was just branches and a few shingles that you lost, and not anything else.

I'm sipping coffee while DH checks on the house to see if power has been restored. Probably not, but he is also going to bring a few more things that I need if this outage is going to last for another day or so. DTE is estimating sometime Friday night, but I hope that's not the case. We're at a local Courtyard but might have to relocate as they are full tonight. I'll keep you posted.

Update: Power still out at home. We will move to another hotel where I'll spend the day while DH goes to the office for a few hours. I'll have the laptop and can watch SVU marathon :D

Posted today on facebook. The gas station whereJessica was abducted has a new digital sign. This may help the station recover the patrons lost by her abduction.

Are you saying this is a digital sign about Jessica Heeringa being missing, with Jessica's name on it?
Or are you saying it is a digital sign with Exxon on it?

IMOO.

Here's the comment about the digital sign by an administrator on FJHFB:

Find Jessica Heeringa I agree.... I'm sure the gas station has lost business... So I don't understand how they can afford a new digital sign......

There is no indication that the sign mentions the missing young woman. I doubt that the Exxon station owner would display anything about Jessica. :moo:

Digital signs can be very complex. It could have several messages on it including pictures. Someone in the area should examine the Exxon sign. It could have a message about the Exxon reward of 15,000. The Texas family found in Michigan I reported yesterday has revealed the burial site of the 5 month old baby.

Good afternoon everyone. Another week has passed. I see progress in finding Jessica even if it is very slow. If you have some information and you are afraid it might not be considered you can send it to Jessica's family directly. They will see it is carefully looked at.(I wonder if it goes to the PI). To send info. to the family use the following link.
