I saw where he worked. There were 3 girls with the last name miller murdered in central pa since the early 90s. What's up with all this killing? I think it's the lack of death penalty.

Are you suggesting a link because he worked at a place called Herman Miller? Also, I don't believe that the death penalty has or ever would deter a person from killing. I just don't see somebody thinking "oh thank goodness there is no death penalty in this state so I can murder people and only face life in prison."

No, Im just saying there are lots of killings. There can't be a link. That just made me think. If you execute a murderer he or she cant kill again. Do you think jeffrey dahmer is comming back to life to kill others? And on a serious note yes i do think people travel to states just to kill if there is no death penalty.

They only give 7 to 40 years in my state for murder now thanks to the idiot murder lovers.

Adding: Don't have link because it was in live discussion comments with the host: Cousin told police when he went in basement Willis was videotaping in basement. (Please delete this if not allowed without a link)
Here's the link to the Q&A video.

What makes you think she was alive? I think the cousin got suckered into helping with Jess and that Willis used the recording to make sure he doesn't rat, because the cousin helping move her body was probably on video. I think Willis moved Jessica because he thought the cousin may rat, he wanted no one to know where she was.
I don't think the cousin got suckered; I think he's a sociopath just like Willis and didn't have any compunction about helping. I think he talked because he wanted attention rather than because of any pangs of conscience.

I believe Willis was filming Jessica, not the cousin. Either Jessica was still alive, or Willis is a necrophiliac. Take your pick.

Is "Magic: the Gathering" a game like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh where the players collect actual cards, and then play their tournaments?

Yes it is it is like the adult version

Willis had necrophiliac material on his computer so it is possible. He is one very sick, horrific individual.

IMO, most of these cases involve sick, horrific individuals. But I also believe they are part of families who try to "hide/protect" them either because they are sick and horrific themselves or because they are "conditioned" into the belief, "Blood is thicker than water; you must ALWAYS (at any cost) protect your family from embarrassment or punishment." Sad thoughts!

I think they should be looking at a bigger geographical area for more victims of this nutbar. I think they should look a little more closely at this cousin as well.
What kind of leverage do you have to have over someone to get them to help you bury a body of a missing young woman? I mean seriously, who does that?

I agree they need to look in other areas, specifically other Magic tournaments out of the area. I'm curious just how far he went to play.

As for his cousin; I think he walked down and saw Jessica, had a few things to say to Willis, Willis told him that he's now on tape and if he wants to keep his job at the prison that he'd better do as he said cause if he goes down; so will the cousin. Who knows Willis could have had the gun on him too. I think the cousin kept on Willis about what he did, Willis moved her remains just in case.

Why does everyone think the cousin also has evil tendencies?

I think the cousin has evil tendencies because a normal person would have went to LE immediately.

Couple of sickos and God knows what they have done and to whom.

You make a good point about a normal person going to LE immediately, but who knows what, other than this murder, either of the two may have been involved with. In this case, the cousin was employed by a branch of LE and may have feared losing his job simply because of an implication by Willis--maybe even a threat was made. I know murder is different than "lesser wrongdoing," but the sad reality is that there is a lot left unreported in this world because of possible repercussions from "whistleblowing." I am not trying to justify any inaction--just trying to fairly analyze all sides. I would imagine the stress of "knowing and not telling" would be pretty hard on a person as well. Lots of people choose silence because they convince themselves that "knowing does not make them involved as a participant." The other sad part is that SOMETIMES justice fosters that belief by allowing "people in the know" to go unpunished. I can think of a myriad of reasons why someone would choose not to be involved--especially if they believed the victim was already dead.

I also agree that since the link to the tournaments is now known, LE should look at the tournament schedules in other places where people were murdered and/or went missing. I had never heard of this game before this, but since the link has been noted it should be added to the checklist that LE uses to determine possible links to other cases. The only way to rule it in or out as a link is to consider and examine it with an open mind.

I think Jessica is somewhere in Michigan that Willis knows very well and he is confident she won't be found there. The police need to interview his family members and find out places he liked to go to as a child and as an adult. I wonder if they could make an appeal and offer a reward to anyone who saw a vehicle like his acting suspiciously. I hope something can be done to make progress. I'm worried Jessica's remains will never we recovered and her family will never be able to grieve properly.

"By using cellphone records, Willis' participation in a Magic: The Gathering Tournament showed he had been in a game shop next door to Heeringa's workplace the day Heeringa disappeared, according to Kasher.

"He was also involved in a magic tournament, which is at the Pointes Mall, which is located about 200 yards, 250 yards north of the gas station where you could see -- the parking lot could see the back of the gas station," Kasher said, according to a court transcript. Willis' credit card history showed he had often purchased items at the gas station, including the night before Heeringa was abducted.

But Willis' appearance at a casual card tournament before he allegedly abducted Heeringa is also puzzling."

Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson said he had "no idea" why Willis was at a Magic: The Gathering tournament, then located at the Pointes Mall, at the corner of Sterenberg and Grand Haven roads.

"I don't know if he was a regular," Hilson said. "I think that place out at Pointes Mall had a regular tournament." Hilson said he didn't know if Willis played other fantasy games.

New article not much new info that we didn't already know. I wonder if they have cellphone info of his whereabouts in the days immediately after Jessica's disappearance or if he never had his phone with him or it was intentionally switched off.

Lots of people of all ages are into card and board games now. It's no different from being a sports fan, or a fan of the Marvel movies or the Harry Potter books, and has nothing to do with being a murderer or creepy.

The cousin being LE should have reinforced him coming forward even more.

It's despicable.

Unfortunately, the SOB is playing a game.

He sets the rules and he has the power.

While Jessica's remains will likely never be discovered, but for a stroke of chance, her death was in no way meaningless, since the SOB is now caught and removed from civilized society, and by all appearances, a crooked LE cousin is removed from being a further disservice to the citizens he was sworn to protect.
