BDE, This kind of denial won't ever lift, it looks like to me. Their whole sense of reality and sanity may depends it, whatever happens to him. Julia was the only one with the strength, smarts, and force of will to get away from it those three years with her grandmother. Can you imagine how brave she was to stand up to him? Can you imagine the strain that put on her relationship with her twin, whose mind he still has a hold on? Can you imagine what life may have been like for her before she could move out, being the one that could see and feel the wrong he was doing, and stand up to her own mom too?

Wonder if Julia kept a diary that may shed some light on the situation. Maybe they went through Julia's old emails or social media for indications of trouble within the family.

Watched the video of KT's defense of her husband a couple of times. She closes her eyes frequently: KNT doesn't believe what she is saying. This woman and her daughter, Jennifer, are in serious denial. If Julia is fuming, it's because her mother and twin sister continue to ignore the writing on the wall with regard to JT. :banghead: That said, I feel sad for this family so obviously divided in their views on JT's arrest. What a freakin' hot mess

Her closest girlfriends would be a great resource. At minimum, she would have reported if he "creeped her out" I would speculate.

Just been catching up with the latest. I definitely think that the child charges will not stick, and are just a LE tactic to hold JT for something much bigger once there is enough evidence for charges. We have recently seen this in the April Milsap case in Armada (MI). The POI was held on drug charges until enough evidence was collected in order to charge him with murder. ALSO....just a social media tidbit: Arianna Gaw (Julia's roommate at the time of her murder) has posted her support (on FB) in favor of JT and Julia's family several times with the most recent, "I have a really hard time seeing people blame an innocent man when they know none of the facts for sure. I wish people would remember the phrase 'innocent until PROVEN guilty'. Don't be quick to judge others when your hands aren't clean, because if the tables were turned, you'd want the chance to defend yourself. It's not just about Julia anymore, it's about supporting her family when so much has already happened to them. Clearing out my friends list of people who spread that filth around. Spread the love, not the filth."
Also...AG was the roommate that Julia was friends with.

I would think they are in denial because then they would have to deal with their own guilt in what they failed to act upon. Speculation only.

I had the same thoughts earlier today when trial date was announced in the Millsap case. Family of that suspect has been divided regarding his guilt or innocence.

It's fresh, let see how it goes from here. Whomever one supports doesn't change right and wrong. Since the advocacy for justice has been pretty much controlled by him until he was arrested, I've discounted most of what "friends" in the clutch of people around him have had to say about him, as it may have been meant to protect him without their knowledge. If people are guided easily and suggestible, especially under these kinds of circumstances, they'll do what people around them do, with exceptions, of course. These events are so new, that I imagine it will take some time for the effects to filter through to the point people rethink their defensive positions. In the end, I don't think they are defending him, as the sense of him they've invested their trust in, so themselves.

According to the article, JT seemed suicidal, and his wife was concerned for her safety as well, and even the hospital staff?!
An innocent person doesn't act this way.
Let's let the evidence come out and draw conclusions from there. At present, he is looky mighty suspicious. Mighty.

Not necessarily. Suggesting that someone "creeps one out" doesn't mean that you would discuss the reason or details, especially something like unwanted sexual advances or other inappropriate conduct. :moo:

Yes, but probably only to her BFF's and her sister/Mom. Yes, I know the sister/Mom deny any misdoings.
We should also remember that pedophiles "groom" children. Maybe something happened in the past that Julia finally put a stop to, and threatened to report. Perhaps the adult Julia came to understand what the child Julia didn't and was going to take action.
All speculation. Let us see what the evidence looks like on the case; that will be very telling.

Yes, it is super upsetting, and mind blowing. I have said from early on in this thread that I absolutely believe the two cases are connected. I believe that now more than ever. I think LE does too, but that is pure speculation on my part. Time will tell.

That is a lot of photos and videos, isn't it? I thought I had a lot in my computer, but I checked and it isn't even 1,000. How does one get 300,000 photos and videos?

Prosecutor was quick to suggest that Mr. Turnquist's photos, videos, etc. were still being looked at by investigators. The seven images might just be the tip of the iceberg. :moo:

I just want to point out that if someone has 300,000 images in their possession of *any* subject matter, they are not a hobbyist. If these photos are of children, even if they aren't pornographic per se, they speak to a larger distribution business most likely.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. These are the images in his possession, on his hard drive, thumbdrives, cameras, etc. LE will be tracing all activity from his IP address, and who knows what they will find there. Pedo's use secure mail for transmission, so they will have to work with the various providers and get warrants, etc. This will take time, but there is no escaping the breadcrumbs of activity o the internet. LE will forensically discover what this guy has been up to. In the meantime, I would recommend his cheerleaders stay silent. I don't think this will be a positive outcome for Mr. Turnquist. Speculation and MOO.

And whoever mentioned it...yes....let's hear from his ex-wife. I'm sure she would know if he has exhibited criminal behavior in the past, or show an inclination towards pedophilia.
