From your link:
"A family member calls the police in hopes of protecting her husband that tells me enough that she was scared for her well-being," he said. "... If (ProMedica staff) are scared enough of Turnquist to ask sheriff deputies to retrieve him, that tells me enough that Mr. Turnquist may be a danger to himself and society."
Seems Mr JT has quite a temper. That can be cause for alarm in raising children.
Turnquist's attorney, Paul Stablein, argued that Turnquist is not a danger to anyone, has no prior criminal history and is not a flight risk.
"The courtroom is filled with supporters and friends of the Turnquists this speaks volumes," Stablein said. "He's absolutely no flight risk and he's no danger to the community. ... Look at the facts, the fact he has no prior history. A number of people that are here are the parents here from the karate studio whose children he has taught. They know what he's charged with yet they're here in support of him. They have no concern with their children in the way that Mr. Turnquist has taught them over the years."
I don't know why this isn't reassuring to me, but it does not allay my concerns. Just how many of those people in the courtroom were actually the parents of students? How many of all those in attendance were supporters of JT, and how many were supporters of the grandmother?
Apparently there are 11 more devices to go through. How many more images will be revealed?
quote from the mother, KN:
"It doesn't help when your own family has been attacking you," she said. "There's nothing to hide. We've done nothing wrong. I have really seen what my family is all about and it's disgusting."
James Turnquist Sr., James Turnquist's father, said he and his wife, Patricia Turnquist, will continue to support his son and are sure of his innocence.
"I'm sad no less, but I love my son and I'm going to stand by him," he said.
Jennifer:
"I think they're wasting their time," she said. "Right now, they can be focused on finding Julia's actual killer instead of going after my dad. It infuriates me because that's my sister and I want to see justice for her. ... It really makes you question the justice system."
Does she not realize these are two separate cases and different police departments?
As stated earlier, and my post was removed (it must not have been considered a legitimate site), I found both the mother and sister displayed many inappropriate expressions during court this morning. Is it a lack of maturity, or are they always inconsiderate? I know they are upset and feeling preyed upon, but there should be a sense of decorum that is followed in the court room.
