I do not know whether or not the parents had a key to Julia's apartment. I'm sure if LE does not know the answer, this may be a question for JT and KT.

Thank you, Trojan. I had thought the answer wasn't given and questions about the key come up since it was reported as missing.

Using the thought it was the apartment key, the killer could have taken it knowing they would access to the place later because he would have knowledge when it was empty. Perhaps to go back to see if they missed anything or see what was taken out....

So two 'why' questions:

Why would the killer want that key?

Now using the thought that perhaps the parents might have had a key, why would JT need to take hers if he already had one?

I would like to thank everyone for their posts and their theories of what may have actually happened. Until JT and KT fully cooperate with LE, there are many questions unanswered.
Just a note of something I have heard ...................... within the last month or so, JT was observed stopping by their garage and running in for a few minutes and then coming back out, jumping in a vehicle and leaving quickly. Their garage is a detached garage, so he did not have to enter the residence. This is a two car garage with an attic storage area.Typical garage, sheets of plywood over the rafters to create an attic storage area. In the past, he kept lots of fishing and hunting gear in there. At one time he had a camouflaged boat used for duck hunting plus some ATVs. Since I have heard about this, I often wonder exactly why he did this, what he may have removed and why he was in such a hurry............ He was wearing a GPS tracker, so I would assume LE had to know he was there. Possibly I don't fully understand how the GPS tracker works though. This was reported to LE.

Now this is interesting...good to hear it was reported to LE as well. It can be these little things that someone does to help break open a case. Thank you for sharing this. Will keep it in mind in case something should something develop from it.

Apparently it is in the documents that were just released. I would say that is confirmation. BBM

#Two polygraph tests were administered — one privately and one at the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office — and Mr. Turnquist passed both, the documents stated. There was no physical evidence linking him to the murder scene.

Thanks Spellbound. I forgot about that.

It was reported to LE but the Monroe County Sheriff Detectives did not seem too interested. Could it have been something associated with Julia's murder or nothing at all? Only one person knows the truth and he's not talking as far as I know.

One question that keeps coming up for me regarding JT has to do with the polygraph test. If JT is the pert. in this case, how did he pass a polygraph test administered by the Washtenaw County Sheriff? Did JT's martial arts training help him to pass a polygraph test? He is a black belt in martial arts so he's had extensive training. I do not know a lot about martial arts, but I know it's much more than just fancy moves to gain control over an opponent. To reach a high level, such as a black belt, one learns techniques to gain control over external as well as internal body systems. I've checked the internet for answers to this question, but someone with a martial arts background may be able to better explain the possibilities. Some articles on the internet have eluded to it, but nothing has come out a said "yes, this training will help you to pass a polygraph."

Note: I did find an article about a guy in Indiana who was jailed for teaching people how to pass a polygraph test.

http://www.ajc.com/videos/news/man-jailed-for-teaching-job-applicants-how-to-beat/vCB6y3/

I enjoy your posts and this is another good one, Looking Glass. One factor of martial arts is about development of the body, mind and spirit so a master in their field could very easily fool these tests. With some coaching from a lawyer combined with the suspect's expert training in self discipline to control his emotions and reactions could pass with flying colors. I'm on the fence about whether or not to put much stock on those tests given his background nor do I put have much faith in lie detector tests.

Team USA explains what Taekwondo is (US spells it as 3 words but actual Korean spelling is 1 word)

http://www.teamusa.org/usa-taekwondo/v2-getting-started-in-taekwondo/what-is-taekwondo

It is a very good martial arts and applying the principles behind it to ones life. Unfortunately sometimes followers of this art form can stray and use it in the wrong way.

I'm with Spellbound in thinking his training could very easily impact the lie detector tests. I would not underestimate the capabilities of someone at black belt level.

Hello, I don't add much, but have been following Julia's forum since the beginning. She certainly deserves justice, as does her grandfather, who loves her so much. I was very close to my grandfather, and was devastated when he passed away. That is a very important relationship, especially to a female, in my opinion.

I just wanted to add that I have a good friend who is a physician. He once told me that very often when physicians have to go to court for a case, they often take blood pressure meds a couple of days prior, in order to remain calm while in court. I am sure JT could have taken a blood pressure med prior to any lie detector test to help him remain calm. I think this, along with his martial arts training, would certainly aid him in his ability to pass a lie detector test.

Thanks to all, and God Bless You, Trojan, for your quest for justice for Julia. Katt

This could be a panic reaction to the most recent court hearing. Since the judge didn't suppress the 12 page affidavit, as JT and his attorney hoped, I would wonder if JT is in a panic about what might be in the garage. Maybe his attorney has said more search warrants at the property are possible. Could there be something in the garage that could be used against JT in the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 case? Tapes, videos etc.. Maybe YPD has plans for more search warrants in Julia's case. If JT isn't going to fully cooperate with YPD, then searches would be another way to collect the data they need for a full accounting of the Turnquist household.

I woke up early this morning, Julia was on my mind and I wrote the following that I thought I'd share....................

Justice For Julia

I've had a hard time sleeping as Julia's always on my mind,
I know she's up in Heaven watching over all that I find.
She looks at me and smiles and says that everything will be OK,
"Oh Grandpa" she says "don't worry, we'll be together one day."
Someday we'll solve this mystery and I know it may not be fun,
But I'll really not be able to rest, until Justice for Julia is done.
So I'll press onward and "digging" as I have always been doing,
In hopes of catching that terrible person we're all pursuing.
I loved my granddaughter Julie and we'll meet again someday,
She'll give me a big kiss and huge hug as "Oh Grandpa" she will say.

sweet Trojan, thank you for sharing that very personal poem. I read it with a tear .... for your pain, her loss, our caring.

Not that I know of. I believe her policy through Walmarts listed Jennifer as the beneficiary but I don't believe it was paid due to the fact that she had not worked there long enough. Like I said, I don't know any of this as a fact.

I would think police would check if there is a life insurance policy on Julia. But how does police check this? Do they simply call all insurance companies and ask? Is it possible that someone took out a life insurance policy on Julia without police, family, or even Julia knowing about it?

To me, the crime scene seems staged. It was make to look like a burglary and/or a sexual assault. So I am thinking that the true motive might be something completely different. Although money does not
seem to be the motive, I think that one should make sure that nobody had a financial interest in Julia's death.

When my mother passed away recently, the funeral home told us to check at missingmoney(.com). We did find one life insurance policy there. I believe an internet search gives suggestions on how to find missing life insurance policies, but it takes time and you need specific information to do so.

Thanks ModMaiden, it's interesting to know the true definition of Taekwondo. I feel it's a necessary tool in the analysis of JT as a possible POI in Julia's case.

Another question I have is: did anyone else in the Turnquist household study martial arts? Did Julia, JN or KT take Taekwondo classes too. Just thinking since Turnquist was/is an instructor at an established martial arts business, other family members may get a discount or free classes.

The youngest daughter does martialarts at the same place, I think.

I think LE can do a search to see if anyone received an insurance payout in Julia's name. There is a record kept of insurance paperwork for payouts. Someone in the insurance business may be able to explain how it works and what govt. agency is involved with financial insurance activity.

Thanks. But what if the insurance hasn't been paid out. Suppose someone killed for insurance money. It probably wouldn't be wise for that person to claim the insurance money while there is still a murder investigation going on, because police would take notice. But if the murderer would wait until the case goes cold (or the wrong person is convicted) then (s)he might just get away with it.

I sometimes see these forensic science programs, where the perp starts calling the insurance the day after the murder. That of course looks mighty suspicious. In case of a suspicious death, I think the insurance company probably would contact the police for details.

Suppose someone took out a life insurance on Julia. I wonder if police would find out if they don't know which beneficiary they are looking for, which insurance company has the policy if the insurance hasn't been paid out yet.
