We might know more about COD later today following DB's arraignment. From article above:

...An autopsy was set to be conducted Monday on Lydia Ball, who was found dead by her parents Saturday at her home in the 1200 block of Rawlins Street in Port Huron. No information is being released yet from the medical examiner's office, but will likely be available after Ball's arraignment, Wood said.

"There is obvious trauma," he added... :(

Amber Alert dad arraigned on murder, torture charges

Sydney Smith, Times Herald 5:34 p.m. EDT August 23, 2016

Citing the brutal murder of his wife and that he had already fled Port Huron once, Prosecutor Melissa Keyes asked that Douglas Edwin Ball Jr. be held without bond during his arraignment Tuesday...

Ball was charged with open murder and torture, as well as with being a habitual offender. He told Platzer he was innocent...

"The nature of the crime is brutal," Keyes said. "The cause of death is blunt force trauma. There is evidence the victim engaged in a struggle prior to her ultimate demise." ...

DH and I drove to Port Huron today to visit our nephew. He didn't know anything about the Amber Alert or homicide that took place less than a mile from his apartment. I asked if he knew where Rawlins Street is, and he directed DH to the location. We found the crime site from a photo on WDIV website. Nephew's neighbor has a family member who lives on that street and will ask if she knows about the murder. Creepy to drive by the house where Lydia Ball died

Amber Alert dad bound over on murder, torture charges

Sydney Smith, Times Herald 5:22 p.m. EDT September 23, 2016

Roxanne Polidan-Jackson sat silently crying while a medical examiner described how one of 14 blows to the head killed her daughter Lydia Ball.

She clutched a photograph of her daughter as he described the marks left by the*zip ties that bound her wrists and ankles as she was beaten to death.

Later, Roxanne Polidan-Jackson took the stand, and described how she found her daughter dead in their basement, hands tied behind her back, and white trash bags with red handles*over her head.

"I went to touch her head and my hand went in her skull," the mother said.

Lydia Ball, 30, was last seen on Aug. 18 by her mother. Police and prosecutors say Douglas Ball Jr., her husband, tortured and then killed her...

Testimony opens in Amber Alert dad murder trial

http://www.thetimesherald.com/story/news/crime/2017/04/05/testimony-opens-amber-alert-dad-murder-trial/100062522/

Douglas Edwin Ball Jr. wiped at his eyes and averted his gaze while autopsy photos of his wife's shaven head were shown on a large monitor Wednesday in Circuit Judge Michael West's courtroom.

The autopsy photos showed crescent-shaped wounds from what St. Clair County Medical Examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz said were 14 blows to Lydia Ball's head.

"It's apparent that this body suffered multiple blunt force injuries," said Spitz in reply to questioning from St. Clair County Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Deegan.

Wednesday was the first day of testimony in Ball's murder case. Much of the opening day on Tuesday was spent in selecting a jury.

Spitz said Lydia Ball "had sustained 14 distinct blows with a heavy object."

"She had a variety of less severe but important wounds to her extremities indicative of defensive wounds," he said.

Jury finds Douglas Ball guilty of killing his wife

http://www.thetimesherald.com/story/news/crime/2017/04/18/ball-trial-going-jury/100477108/

A jury of six women and six men took less than half an hour Tuesday afternoon to find Douglas Edwin Ball Jr., 39, guilty of murdering his wife, Lydia Ball, 30.

Ball was found guilty of first-degree murder and torture charges.

"It's nice that Lydia Ball has some justice," said Jennifer Deegan, St. Clair County senior assistant prosecutor after the jury came back with the verdict.

Earlier, during her closing argument, Deegan had counted 14 blows, striking her hand on a lectern.

"I ask you to think about how much time and effort it would take, how much time and effort it took to kill Lydia Ball," Deegan said after picking up an 8-pound hammer believed to have been the weapon used to kill Lydia Ball, 30.

Ball faces life in prison. Sentencing will be at 9 a.m. June 1.

Ball sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife

http://www.thetimesherald.com/story/news/crime/2017/05/31/ball-sentenced-killing-his-wife/357718001/

Douglas Edwin Ball Jr. maintained his innocence Thursday as he was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing his wife, Lydia.

"From the bottom of my heart, I did not kill my wife," said Ball, reading from a prepared statement in Circuit Judge Michael West's courtroom.

West, after noting that first-degree murder carries a mandatory life sentence, said the jury's verdict was fair and appropriate.

"Mr. Ball, what disturbs me and has disturbed me the most ... is at least up until now your complete lack of emotion and concern about your wife's death," West said.

The judge said it appeared Ball was most concerned "about the fact that you are potentially on your way to prison for the rest of your life.
