KS is the mom, QS is the Aunt who was allegedly 'on the run'.

ETA: Never mind, I see we are both posting at the same time.

I am SOOOOO HAPPY an arrest has been made!

and even more so ECSTATIC I was wrong thinking it would take much longer for an arrest.

I'm guessing upping the reward to 10,000 made the difference. It is NICE to see when rewards work, as so many cases we follow here with rewards remain unsolved.

I am overjoyed LE was able to make this arrest on the day precious Mariha was laid to rest.

That article originally said it was Mariha's mother's boyfriend. Then they edited it.

Live report now saying that the suspect is Konesha's boyfriend! Konesha might not know yet. Family members and friends were sure that the man in the BP video was Konesha's boyfriend even though his face was blurred.

Maybe LE has actually known for a while but waited until after the funeral to make the arrest. jmo

Police arrest man in Mariah Smith slaying

Detroit— Police arrested a man in the killing of 5-year-old Mariah Smith on Friday, hours after hundreds gathered to mourn her death.

"We have a person of interest that has been arrested based on preliminary findings by the homicide unit," Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said Friday.

The arrest was made late Friday afternoon, she said. The man is the boyfriend of one of Mariah's aunts, a source told The Detroit News...
