As for the beer can; even if there are prints on it LE will not just assume that it is the murderers' fingerprints. There would have to be other indicators pointing toward that person as well, IMO, for LE to even begin to think that the prints and/or DNA belonged to the murderer. It could just be an attempt to frame someone.

Of course, figuring out who would want to frame the beer-can-fingerprints' owner would be helpful, too.

BICKLEY: The flies just started getting terrible, and they were landing on me. I was shaking them off. I don't think they have the right to tell you no if you are next of kin. They can strongly discourage you and they can decline to use your ID of the remains as official IDing, but I think they have to let you view the remains.

When my MIL was murdered it was closed casket due to the trauma to her her head and face, the funeral director said he would not allow anyone to view the remains in his facility and said if anyone felt that strongly about it they would need to arrange to view them at the coroners office (only the suspect wanted to view the remains, I think the director would have allowed the son's who did not make the request, but that is an assumption).

Having grown up in a funeral home, I think I can answer the question on viewing the remains. First off we know the remains are decomposed somewhat. When my dad had to deal with that type of issue the corpse actually had to be sealed in something before it was placed in the casket. Quite often there had to be some type of deodorizing material placed in there as well before the casket is sealed. In the case of military deaths the caskets arrived totally sealed and no one could open them even to verify the contents. I agree that if they wanted to see her, it would have to be at the coroners'.

And I'm guessing that JB was trying to make a decision on which of the funeral homes to accept the offer from. If she wasn't familiar with them she may have wanted to check all three first. JMO of course.

I hope the prints if any found on the can don't get some innocent person in hot water. Fingerprints are on file for many reasons.

The thought of this woman being pregnant just enrages me but aside from that, if GK isn't the father, who is? and I'd like to know if LE knows who the father is - did she tell them? This person would certainly be a suspect as well and someone to look at very closely.

When Mr Binkley said he chipped away 6x6 -6x8 area of cracked cement he saw skin and I believe he stated it was smooth and definitly human. So by his testimony I felt a assured she was in fairly good shape and now we are hearing badly decomposed. I just wonder if for some reason they are just withholding info for some reason???

They wanted samples of her fingerprints so her hands must not have decomposed that much. :waitasec:

I am sure that the ME and LE know that this is Nevaeh's body. I wonder if they are waiting for the toxicology test results to come back. But why? Why not just make the announcement that it is indeed this poor child's body?

So, JB was at the funeral home last night making her 20 minutes late for the NG show. IMO, What I simply cannot understand is why JB was not tremendously upset. I really could not tell by her appearance or voice that she was upset having just come from the funeral home. I would have been unable to speak, my eyes would have been swollen, and my voice would have sounded as if I were 'stopped up'. JB does not have normal feelings, imo.

People grieve differently. I don't think it's fair to make judgments on that. JMO

Michigan State Police have identified the remains of the little girl found Thursday in a shallow grave in Raisinville Township as 5-year-old Nevaeh Buchanan, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced today.

Each previously had been convicted of a sex assault: Smith of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, for which he was sentenced to 15-50 years in prison; Kennedy of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, for which he served more than a year in prison.

Kennedy violated the parole of a second-degree home invasion conviction, for which he got 2-15 years.

Smith and Kennedy could spend the next 35 and 13 years, respectively, behind bars for their association with Nevaeh's mother.

If you asking about JB's brother his name is Michael. He's listed as 26 with the same surname as JB.

It looks like that information is accurate Dairygirl.

I searched the SSDI for his full name (including middle initial) and only 8 hits came back.

Only 1 was in Michigan and that was in Monroe. Date of death is 17 Mar 1996.
