the contents would not surprise me. THe egg donor had no emotional ties to this child. I do feel for the investigators having to investigate this.

If they are trying to learn more about her and her daughter's lives - maybe they should be asking the grandmother. After all Jennifer has only been in this picture for about 4-5 months. What the hell was the grandmother doing? Did CPS approve of Jennifer babysitting while the grandmother was at work? I understand it is a difficult situation to be in - between your child and your grandchild. BUT Jennifer did not have custody for a reason and I believe the reason goes beyond her being in jail or custody would have been restored upon Jennifer's release.

That may not be true. Just because she's been released, doesn't mean she would get custody back. She would have to go to court and provide reasons/evidence why it would be benificial for the court to disolve the guardianship and for Jennifer to regain custody. If the family had agreed it was not in Nevaeh's best interest for Jennifer to have custody yet, or Jennifer didn't think she had enough proof (such as being clean/sober, having a legal source of income, having appropriate housing, etc..) they may not have gone to court yet. They may have decided that since Jennifer was living in the same home as her mom and Nevaeh anyway, it may be benificial to wait until Jennifer was more stable. Also, if Jennifer signed over custody before entering prison, CPS may never have been involved. In that case, it would be up to the grandma to decide who she thought she could trust Nevaeh with. If Jennifer had been doing well and displaying appropriate parenting skills, as well as working towards regaining custody, I can understand why she may have let Jennifer stay with Nevaeh.

ETA: It also depends on the type of guardianship that Grandma had. They have not stated whether it was a Full Guardianship or a Temporary Guardianship. My guess would be Temporary, and that is the type of guardianship I was referencing.

Wondering why the boyfriends mailing address is Caro?? Caro's quite a hike from Monroe (as I am born and raised in the "thumb" and now live in the Metro Area) we drive this route at least a month and its anywhere between an hour to over two hours depending on starting and ending points???

Even if the pictures weren't appropriate, the fact that a reg. sex offender has photos of a underage child in his suitcase should be grounds enough for suspicion, at the very least.
I agree..LE needs to locate that child in the photos as well. It could really help their case.

Am I the only one bothered by her use of past tense?

It sure bothers me. Makes me think she knows that her daughter is dead. But it would help to have more of the context. In the first two sentences, he might have been talking about her time in prison/jail--which would be, clearly, in the past. The last sentence, not so much.

Court records show that by 2002 Kennedy had been charged with a home invasion, accosting a 13-year-old girl, and having sex with another girl under the age of 16. Kennedy's former court-appointed lawyer Peter Sickels told ABCNews.com that the charges were combined in a plea deal that allowed him to be released from prison in 2003.

Yeah. They both said Monroe. The addresses were 15000 block and 14000 not too far apart. I'd have to go back to get the exact numbers.

JMO --- But it looks like RCS lives in a more "remote" part of Dixie - appears to be about 2.5 miles past the bf - and appears to be surrounded by what might be trees or fields? Houses look more "spuratic" the farther you get from the hotel and the closer you get to RCS
