Sheriff Crutchfield~

~presser called to provide update covering the last several days

~leads stand at 1000 and they continue to receive tips and leads

~3pm yesterday they were called to the scene of a possible body burried

~investigators arrived and determined it was a possible burial site and the FBI evidence recovery team was called in and processed the scene

~the body of a small child that matched the size, appearance, and sex of Neveah was found. There is reasonable suspicion that this is Neveah. The body has been taken to Wayne County morgue in Detroit where an autopsy will be performed this morning

~All evidence gathered from the scene and autopsy will be taken to the MSP crime lab for processing

~They will be at the scene again today with evidence technicians and divers until all evidence is recovered. The area is secured and is closed by road, water and air to all except for local residents and LE

~The area is described as a rural area along the river raisin. The burial site was on the banks of the river. The body was located by fishermen.

~confirmed that there was a "material"....cement of concrete... on the gravesite

~the gravesite has been there for "awhile" but that is up to the ME to decide

~any suspects? they are investigating all tips and leads

~No physical signs of trauma

~Family is grieving

~the area, to Sheriff's knowledge, had not been checked before

~Sheriff states he thinks the person is still out in the community and is a sick and disturbed person

~Sheriff states that POI is overused term.. will not comment on any of the persons/sos being held and any connections they may have to the area, etc

~a SHIRT similar in nature to the one Neveah was last seen wearing was recovered from the scene.

snapdragon I agree with your theory about what JB did to Neveah - I believe that there was on-going abuse-it can be seen in Neveahs eyes in her photos. My question is that when will there be a law in place that when a parent KNOWINGLY has sex offenders around their child that they will be convicted of child endangerment. There needs to be changes in place not only for the sex offenders but for parents who have their children around them. I know it would be a hard law to enforce...but a law needs to be there..especially when the sex offender is not allowed to be around children and a parent knows but allows it anyways! JB needs to be convicted of child endangerment!
My stronger feelings is that she is an accessory to the crime: Definition: An accessory to a crime is any individual who knowingly and voluntarily participates in the commission of a crime. An accessory is not typically present at the scene of the crime, but contributes to the success of the crime before or after the fact.
Nevaeh would be alive today if her mother did not open the door to her home to these sex offenders.

I agree. If they can jail pregnant women for smoking, drinking and drugging, they should also be able to jail mothers who knowingly expose their children to known SO's. That is child abuse, or at least, child endangerment.

Isn't being encased in cement physical trauma? How can LE say there is no physical signs of trauma? Just wondering..

If he is saying "perp" is still on the loose, could still be Easter then, because the other two scumbuckets are locked up...I just checked VINE...

...except, this is curious...they have both been "transferred" as of this morning...don't know where...

I think there may be more info to come... as at the start of the presser the sheriff said that any questions to the fbi, msp, had to be OFF CAMERA... and that is why the presser streaming abruptly stopped after the last question. In an hour or so, after the mad dash for the scoop, I bet more details will be forthcoming from the off camera portion of this presser....

That's what I was thinking as well, but LE won't confirm that she was encased in cement.. the reports of that are coming from the witnesses who found the body, and the media.

I think LE means physical trauma while the child was alive, potentially leading to injury or death. I think (hope) she was encased in the concrete after death.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, which received the body overnight, expects to complete an autopsy by noon today, a spokesman said this morning.

yes he is being transferred; I double-checked on VINE. Someone on MT also said they think he and the other POI RSO are being transferred to Jackson, MI. Not sure why.....but that's what someone stated on MT. (MT is Monroe Talks).

HOWEVER, another poster on MT said according to OTIS; they are both still in Monroe Co. Jail

As soon as people know the approximate location of little Nevaeh's body being found, they will start thinking back a couple of weeks. Hopefully, law enforcement will then start receiving tips from people who may have seen a vehicle or person(s), or anything suspicious in that area that will help to lead them to the perpetrators.

Last night there was a video link that Nomoresorrow posted where the reporter stated some interesting things:

* GK knew the area where the body was discovered like the back of his hand
* GK worked with concrete

Hate to lose that video.

Also, there was a rumor GK had relatives living on Custer Rd or close to the area where the body was found. Are there any locals here who might know the answer to that possibility? xox

I just gotta say, that although she had a drug problem, wasn't the most upstanding citizen, Ellie Nesler is my hero. She shot the man who molested her son and four other boys 4 times in the head in a Sonora, CA courtroom.

I am not advocating violence of any sort, but I am surprised that vigilantism does not occur more, especially with our inept justice system.

She must have been lying face down, as the man who found her said he saw what appeared to be a part of a small back.

When I was a young girl in Tennessee, there was a man that liked little girls in our neighborhood.

Until our country....and others decide what to do about all this people stealing the life away from our children maybe we should just do what daddy did and keep track of the ones around us. Even when the Law tells us we are the ones who are in the wrong.
