Found Deceased MI - Omarion Humphrey, 8, Lake Callis, 4 Jul 2015

Ugh, when I had first seen this in the news I had hoped he would be found wandering. This has gone on TOO long.

The helicopter is back out searching tonight along with the fire department. Thunderstorms are supposed to be coming tonight. Everywhere has been searched so thoroughly that either he is hiding extremely well or he's no longer in this area. This is his 3rd night missing. If he were walking, he could have walked a long ways by now. I have to wonder if someone picked him up in a car. Or if he got into an unlocked house and hid somewhere inside. It was hot today so I hope he is finding water to drink somewhere. He must be hungry by now. It's supposed to turn cooler after the rain. The trees, bush, and weeds are so thick and tall in some places that searching is like looking for a needle in a haystack. A lot of people are now saying they don't think he is in this area anymore. It's hard to tell. I just hope he is found soon. I hate to think of him being out in the coming thunderstorm.

Right now state police are flying a grid search using thermal imaging. The fire department is standing by in case anything is found. My son searched until 11 p.m. last night but they didn't want searchers tonight because they want the area cleared for the grid search from the air. They will use searchers in daylight again tomorrow. Someone started a fake search page saying that the boy had been found. He has NOT been found. Also the bio family (sister I'm told) started a "fund me" page asking for $10,000--who knows for what. The searchers are all unpaid volunteers, police, etc. that aren't asking for any money. People started criticizing the page and it was taken down.

Someone called in a tip that they thought they saw the boy in the woods behind Wal-mart, which is a several mile hike from where the boy went missing. So, a helicopter is flying low over the woods searching. I don't know how they can see anything in the woods in the dark. The grid search is still going on in Davison. Nothing found yet. Police are asking anyone who was at the lake with a camper about the time the boy went missing to check their camper to make sure he didn't climb into it and accidentally get driven away. Under one of the news posts someone who had been at the search said that there is a lot more disturbing things about the boy's family that we don't know but that she wasn't going to post them on a public forum. Police are investigating both the foster and the bio families. Not much new coming out, just searches and more searches. Authorities are going full speed on searching, especially because of the boy being so vulnerable due to his handicap. The boy's bio family says he wouldn't go near the lake because he's not fond of water and doesn't like the feel of cold water on his skin. Yet he happily played in the splash pad for much of the day and can be seen on video jumping up and down in the water spray. He seemed to be very attracted to the water in the splash pad. The one time he went missing, the splash pad is where he was found. When he went missing the last time, the surveillance video showed him headed towards the splash pad at 5:09 p.m. when he walked out of range of the camera. I don't know if he even got to eat dinner before disappearing because his family was cooking dinner on the grill at that time. They ate dinner after searchers had gone to search for him. To be fair, I'll say that it was reported that police told them to stay put in one spot during the search. People criticized the foster family for eating while the boy was lost and being looked for. But if they were told to stay put and their dinner was cooked, I suppose it made sense to go ahead and eat it if they weren't too upset to do so. They probably expected the boy to be found in a short time like he was the previous times that day when he wandered off.

I am more than nervous and more than sad for this child. When other people can tell a child isn't being monitored well enough, that child is reeeeeally not being monitored well enough! It takes a LOT for people to step in and say something about bad parenting.

Poor guy must be so hungry by now. I really think he got much farther than anyone assumed. Thank you Jan for your updates.

Jan, you've been such angel through this whole ordeal. I just want to hand you the biggest thanks, and all the other posters too, for keeping us up to date. Now just please let that sighting at WalMart be real!

:tyou: Jan for your continued local coverage of the case. I hoped there would be good news this morning, but when my husband's alarm went off at 5:00 with WWJ news, there was no update on Omarion. Still nothing when traffic/weather came on at 5:08 so I turned off radio. I was shocked to read about the fund site and glad that it was taken down. I'm sorry to say this, but it seems very suspicious when someone is thinking about raising money when this special-needs child is missing and searches are being done by LE and unpaid volunteers. :moo:

Divers rule out drowning in case of missing Pontiac boy with autism

Omarion Humphrey, 9, of Pontiac went missing while celebrating the Fourth of July with his foster family at Lake Callis Recreation Complex in Davison Township.

Hundreds of law enforcement officials and volunteers have joined in the search for the boy, who is severely autistic and doesn’t speak. Dog teams searched a creek and a dive team searched ponds as well as Lake Callis. He is black with brown eyes, 4 feet tall and 65 pounds.

Divers have ruled out drowning as a possibility...

http://www.abc12.com/home/headlines...issing-boy-in-Davison-Township-311650231.html Some good new videos and footage showing Omarion playing in the splash pad before he went missing. It poured down rain in the night and is still raining today, slowing down the searches. There were 2 "Go Fund Me" sites for the boy asking for money. The family says they started one of them but not the other that is asking for $10,000 and that page is back up. It was started by someone who doesn't even live in Michigan. Luckily, it has only collected $15 and has been reported for fraud. Some teens thought they saw Omarion last night by the closed movie theaters but a 5 hour search there didn't find anything. Police are now asking everyone within 10 miles of the Callis Lake Park to check their property. A friend of mine was at the park when Omarion went missing. Omarion was reported missing at 5:25 p.m. and my friend drove out of the park at 6 p.m. in a pickup truck with topper and no one stopped him to search his truck (he searched it himself later). I wonder how many others drove away after the boy went missing and before they started searching vehicles. My friend was searching last night until around midnight but saw nothing. There is an emergency court hearing today in Pontiac with the birth family. They want the other kids in the foster home checked on. I'm not sure what all the hearing is supposed to cover. It starts in less than 15 minutes and the news is expected to be following it.

Does Omarion's mother have other children in the same foster home?

Because drowning has been ruled out, I think this child has been abducted. So sad.
As a momma to a "son from another mom" I wouldn't be able to eat if he ever was lost. I would so freak out and be a bundle of nerves. I'm the momma that uses the kid leashes. Rather get nasty looks, than loose my children or find them under a vehicle. However that's just me. Not every foster parent is careless about their foster children.

I wonder whether these two possible sightings were actually of a 10 year old boy who was shirtless and shoeless and wearing a black bathing suit? That would pretty much 100% rule him in or out, IMHO.

I don't know if Omarion's mother has any other children in the same foster home. I know she has 11 children in foster care and she has a set of 1 or 2 month old twins that are still in her custody. The Salvation Army has a food truck at the lake for searchers but I don't know if Omarion could smell the food if he was close enough to it. The mosquitos are so horribly thick here that if Omarion is outside he would have been eaten alive by now. Some people have suggested putting out food, bottled water, and blankets for Omarion to get if he is in hiding and comes out at times. But they would have no idea where to put them. They have been broadcasting Omarion's favorite music on loud speakers at the lake to see if that will bring him out. They were also going to broadcast a recording of his mother's voice for him but I don't know if they have done that yet. I've been waiting for news of the court hearing in Pontiac that was happening this afternoon and was supposed to have started at 1:30. I am starting to think that Omarion is no longer anywhere near the lake but I have no idea where he could be. It has been 3 nights now and we are heading into the 4th night that he has been gone. The rain is making it hard to search. The air grid search with thermal imaging last night didn't find anything. People are now being told to check their property as far as 10 miles away. My daughter works at a storage unit place in the area and she checked all the storage units. She has been alerting her customers to look for Omarion because some of them don't use facebook or listen to the news and they actually didn't even know that the boy was missing. Also, some people are coming to store things on their way back from vacations, so she is alerting them to check their property when they get home. I don't know if anyone has put up fliers for the boy. I haven't seen any. There is a big billboard missing message along the I-75 expressway. They should put one on the I-69 expressway too because that is right close to where he went missing. The boy could even have walked down to the expressway and been picked up by someone there.

This poor boy, he must be so cold and frightened.. and hungry. Please find him!! :(

The hearing in Pontiac is Oakland County. Does the foster family live in Oakland County, or do they live in the Flint area (Genesee County)?

I'm surprised that the families haven't posted fliers around the area where Omarion went missing :waitasec: I see fliers everywhere for lost pets. Seems like a missing child warrants fliers posted around town.

I dunno, something strange about all this, I could be misinterpreting, but it almost seems like Mars' guardians wanted him to go missing ? (MOO)

^ Omarion has been with this foster family since February. They must know that he is curious and likes to wander. Once they were warned that he needed better supervision, someone in the group should have been instructed to keep an eye on the boy at all times. There is no excuse for this child to have been unsupervised in a park with many other people around. I hope LE and/or the Courts get to the bottom of this.
