I do wonder if the murders of the uni kids are related. I think it's less likely, but I would put the two (
or even 3 if you go back years) in the same victim profile.
I can't see much that definitely says they weren't related, other than that the killer would have to have stalked them, yes. That kind of 'serial killer' is usually a postman or maintenance man in the true-crime shows I watch. I put sk in quotes, because those folks got caught after two. I think 2 makes a serial killer, but they won't be on any list of them, I don't think.
The entry situation seems like a problem with Paul still. OTOH, if there is a time or way to get in that's sneaky, a stalking killer could have found it.
[Did any of y'all see the guy on ID last night who came in through the attics above the apartments (to rob, but he did kill)? Creeped me out! The cops thought the victim opened the door for his killer because he was in his boxer shorts and there were no signs of forced entry. Later, insulation was found as evidence that pointed towards how the killer really got in.]
On these cases in MI, I would think an MO of strangulation of a girl and then shooting of a guy doesn't sound like your typical SK. But then we have Alaska. Unfortunately, I think we have started having so many SKs that some of the old profiles no longer work
I don't know. I won't say that I don't think it's the same person. We don't know all the circumstances or evidence. I will say that I've noticed that in some cases that can't be solved easily it is because it was someone with little connection to the victim. Those folks often do kill more than once before it's known what is going on
