Kwame Kilstripper is what it should have been listed under though.....

Perfect Nickname for him! And what's with the state Gov. is she scared of him or what? There are two groups of people that are closely involved with letting Kwame get away with this for so long. Those who won't talk because they are just as bad as he is and he has the goods on them. Or the ones who won't talk because they don't want to end up dead.

I want to see obstruction of justice charges against those who lied about the party. Get one to sing and the rest will fall. From the below link:

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, awaiting a decision from the Wayne County prosecutor on whether he'll face criminal charges in the text messaging scandal, has hired the former U.S. attorney for Chicago as his primary lawyer, and engaged a Washington, D.C., public relations expert who represented Monica Lewinsky. Kim (the DA) has been soo quiet concerning all of this, it's led many to wonder what side she really sits on. I forget what Link, but in one of the ones I posted it goes into it more.

And while I love the nickname for him. That's not "mine" (as in I didn't come up with it...a poster on the freep and detroit news posted it, and it stuck w/ me LOL)

The thing that angers me? His powerhouse attorneys are being billed to the city of Detroit~!!!!!! As another poster on the newspaper forum brought up - if he's done nothing wrong..WTH does he need all these people in his corner..To me? It SHOUTS he's dirty, guilty, and w/ the way he acts, he's a hip hop wanna be! JUST MY OPINION!!

Jinxie, I'm stunned he only mentioned the word "EDUCATION" once and it was only to compare the rising cost of prisons against schools. Which of course should be a concern for him since he may be spending some quality time in one.

And spending on prisons is increasing at six times the rate that spending on education is increasing. Something is terribly wrong with that picture.

Here's why he should have spent a little bit more time and effort in his speech on education:

Detroit schools grad rate: 32%
DPS official questions MSU study that uses new national tracking method
Karen Bouffard / The Detroit News

Just 31.9 percent of Detroit students graduate in four years, according to the first major study in Michigan conducted using a method now mandated by the federal government.

nope it's all about image with him. Notice when he talks about the stimulus package, it's nothing to do with the residents of Detroit, but w/ the commercial aspect, the wining and dining and the like...and people wonder why some of the people there don't care about the city....

Detroit Union Leaders To Kilpatrick: Quit Or Be fired

snip -

DETROIT -- About 60 members of Detroit municipal unions have been picketing before Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's State of the City address, urging his resignation or ouster.

They carried signs Monday evening with messages that included, "fire the mayor," "layoff Kilpatrick now" and "Kwame must go." The protesters cited the scandal over Kilpatrick's sexy text message exchange with his top aide, as well as public worker layoffs.

I have to admit, that's the first thought that came to my mind.

I searched for a forum for this murder case out of Detroit. If it's here somewhere...Mods please merge. This case had gone cold and it involves the office of scandal ridden Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. I've been following the scandals and the Tamara Greene case for about a year. If you haven't followed it, below is a link to Tamara's case in a nutshell. Basically she was a stripper who performed with two other girls at a party at the Mayors mansion. His wife walked in and broke her arm. Word leaked out, the stripper party was denied as having ever happened and Tamara ends up being gunned down with a possible police issued gun. Rumor is one of the other strippers turned up being shot dead in Georgia but I haven't been able to confirm that. Well a retired Detroit PD clerk came forward today to say she read the police report Tamara originally filed against the Mayors wife for assault. Now the Chief of Police is about to hold a presser at:

http://www.wxyz.com/content/video/stream.aspx

This case is so involved and has taken a life of it's own and the City recently settled for millions with police officers who were wrongfully fired for investigating the supposed party and Tamara's death. Below is the link to the Tamara Greene case:

The mayor dug a very deep hole for himself.

She's opted to delay her decision by two weeks on whether Kwame should face charges :furious:

story isn't all the way in yet, it's just a "blip" but it's the breaking story at the moment
