It's hard to avoid the subject when discussing Kwame as he keeps brining it up! You can only politely look aside so many times. When he blames white, suburban jurors of the award in the Whistleblower trial it takes a bloody tongue to keep my trap shut. Hindsight is 20-20, and I bet the award would have been even higher if the text messages came out during the trial.

I think the most ironic thing to happen would be the guy bumps out Kwamies mommy for her seat LOL. Let's face it, he's got the cash to fund a campaign and then some....sad too that Kwame had to abuse his power...IMO with what he had as far as a background goes (mommy's coattails) and the backing as well as charisma he originally had "in his pocket" there's a possibility he could have really "went up in the ranks" of Michigan Politics....Classic case of a man thinking with the WRONG head.....

So, did they reopen the case just so they couldn't comment on an active investigation? Is anyone actually investigating Tamara's murder or are they just shuffling papers around? Soooooo frustrating . . . .

I just can't figure out which head is smaller.

Suddenly got an image from the movie Beetlejuice in my head...where his head is shrunk by the witch dr at the end of the movie hehe...

which head is smaller, or which is the dumbest...He better be careful or his wifey will be putting a hit out on him too for embarassing her! Wait...we couldn't get that lucky now could we?

Head pounding illogical statements by defense attorney Webb. Reminds me of Bill Clinton asking for a definition of the word "IT". IMO, the perjury is clearcut, and they still have Obstruction of Justice, Conspiracy, and Misconduct to face.

"Perjury cases are supposed to be limited to cases where there's an unambiguous question ... and then there's an unambiguous answer," Kilpatrick's attorney Dan Webb said Monday with the mayor by his side. "The questions that they're relying upon are vague and indefinite and ambiguous."

I couldn't get the above link to work. I'll post another one. And my response to that article is to borrow Beatty's eye roll and Worthy's presser comment "what do you expect a defense attorney to say?". Sheesh.

I've been thinking alot about what Beatty might do. I don't see a super high priced attorney(s) by her side. I doubt she can afford the dream team Kwame has hired. And I do not see a defense fund in her name. I read somewhere along the line that if she copped a plea, she could somehow salvage the right to practice law, which she is currently studying for. IMO, I can only see Worthy accepting a plea if Beatty offers to testify against the Mayor and anyone else involved in this mess.

thats been stated, for the reasons you mention plus her children's sake. IF she does go that route, I really hope she ends up "protected" in some sense. I think Kwame's wife is just as dirty as he is and can picture her 'ordering" something on beatty if you catch my drift

especially after reading things about her in the press and different articles that have been cited here....

I just have a hard time seeing her screw Kwame, but I can see him throwing her under the bus.

Oh yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Kwame's wife has some "uncles" so to speak, that I wouldn't want to piss off. She's another one that could be behind Tamara's death.

And you can't forget she can swing a mean bat.

If she does that to Tamara for dancing at her husband's party. I can imagine what she wants to do to Beatty. Beatty has to be looking over her shoulders for that baseball bat.

or the bullets that came out of the gun at (IMO) Her and Kwame's request. After all, can't have the mayor's wifee upset at what she came home to. Nor can he have anyone running to the tabloids about what he was doing during that party.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm has remained largely silent on the escalating legal problems swirling around Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

Why?

From the Lansing State Journal Dated 3/26/2008

Gov. Jennifer Granholm says she doesn't have much to say about the criminal case against Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, citing the possibility she could have a role to play in the situation down the road.

Granholm has the power to remove local officials for misconduct.

The Democratic governor said today she would prefer not to discuss the issue other than to say she wants to allow the legal process to go forward.Well, that legal process is going to go forward whether Kwame has his hands on the reins (or his heel on the throat) of the city or not.

What is important here is the damage the city and state will certainly suffer if more and more people around the nation and world are given the chance to concentrate on our beloved city of Detroit and the current group of narcissistic crooks that run the joint. Detroit is so messed up it could be used by Mahmoud Abbas as an example to the entire Middle East that things could be much worse. "At lease we're not Detroit."

Kwame Kilpatrick has made his intentions clear--he is not going to resign. He is going to drag this out as long as he can. He is waiting for vindication and exoneration. He is going to try every legal maneuver in the book that he can, and if worse comes to worse there will be the inevitable race card--a card he has played frequently and with skill.

Bolding is Mine* For those who aren't familiar, Lansing is our state Capitol. Remember though too, Granholm isn't very well liked either. For awhile there was a BUNCH of impeach Granholm signs floating around LOL*

More Quotes from Granholm on the situation...Now I'm may be totally off the mark here but to ME it seems as though she's in Kwame's pocket...

From Detroit Free Press (Written By Dawson Bell)

"There is a legal statute that says that the governor can remove an official if the governor is satisfied that they are guilty," Granholm told editors and reporters at the Mining Journal in Marquette on Monday afternoon. "So my satisfaction of being guilty would be when they're convicted."

Granholm cited her experience as a former prosecutor and said, "It's really important ... that we allow the criminal justice system to take its course."

Once a criminal conviction occurs in a case like that presented Monday by Prosecutor Kym Worthy against Kilpatrick, legal experts said the office would be vacated automatically and no action by the governor is required.

Peter Ellsworth, a Lansing attorney and legal counsel to former Gov. William Milliken, said Monday formal requests to the governor have been rare.
But criminal conviction is not a prerequisite, he said, adding, "She's got the authority. Whether she should exercise it or not is another question."

Frank Kelley, who served as attorney general for more than 30 years, handled dozens of public corruption cases, but said usually the target would agree to quit.

"That guy in Detroit doesn't want to do that," Kelley said.

It does seem as though she's in his pocket. The criminal justice system will take it's course whether he's in office or not, BUT the damage this is doing to Detroit and Michigan is just unbelievable. The Governor needs to step in and remove him from office ASAP. If Kilpatrick really had love for Detroit, he'd put the city's concerns above of his own.
