I'm wondering back to Rhett Fussell who said JY left to get a "head start". What about Danville ? It is 84 miles to the house, roughly the same distance to Blacksburg VA - Duffield could be on the way to Brevard. So if JY fills up in Raleigh - drives to danville 84 miles, roundtrip to raliegh and back in the middle of the night 170 (total 254) to Blacksburg (total 344) to Duffield - right at 400 miles - within the range of the Explorer's capacity.... possible ?

Danville's a possibility, rc. We need more info.

I know but I'm having fun !

The only thing about Abington - he would have had to leave very early in the evening to get there on the 2nd and drive a very long ways back. I'm just fooling around Scout, nothing better to do...

Since the murder occurred in the middle of his trip, I'm not seeing anything odd about the receipts being in the vehicle and not in his briefcase, for example. The hard part regarding the gas purchases would be to have the appropriate amount of gas in the vehicle when it was seized, if he indeed did drive to his destination, double back home, etc. That would take some careful calculation to cover up the additional driving (and maybe another purchase) when compared to the receipts, in my opinion. We'd still need to know exactly where this hotel is.

Gotcha! :)

WOW...glad something's 'happened' since i left my computer!...(watched The Devil Wears Prada, which BTW is a good movie, IMO...loooooove Meryl Streep)

back in the beginning i grabbed Boydton VA 'out of the air' .....Hampton Inn not far from there either...i have no idea what Boydton is like, but a person could get there in less than two hours from Raleigh....

Just thinking of that out of the way burg and the out of the way places between there and Brevard - lots of places to dispose of evidence along the way if it turns out the Get it Market in Duffield is indeed where he bought gas.

The good news - LE got this information within 26 or so hours of Michelle being murdered.

ETA - also five maps in the SUV...

I just watched the coverage on both WRAL and WTVD, they don't know anymore than we do about the Hampton Hotel (may not be a "Hampton Inn") or the Get I Market.

I know that Jason has stayed in Hampton Inns in the past, but I would think something a little seedier would be more appropriate for a night such as it was.
A less posh hotel also may not have had camera's or key cards.
If it is a "Hampton Inn", it could be anyplace. I have a Chapel Hill/Durham directory and it is showing 9 between Raleigh and Mebane. There must be a gazillon of those places.

yep, Hampton Inns are everywhere, that's for sure...

If he had a plastic bag with bloody items in it on the back seat of his car, don't you think he'd want to dump it as soon as he could? If he filled up with gas at that location by his home, do you think he would put it in their dumpster? Are there any areas of water on the drive back up to Danville? Of course, it he might worry it might not be heavy enough to sink and stay down!

I agree that if he needed to dispose of evidence, he'd be using out of the way locations. It doesn't seem he was trying to conceal the gas purchases since the receipts were in the car, so where was his destination for the business trip supposed to be?

From the way it is described it does seem if these spots are blood they most likely came from the hand or finger bleeding. Didn't LE talk with Jason on 11-3 for about 15 minutes? I bet they were sizing him up looking at his hands, face etc. closely.

Did any of the "insiders" ever mention that he had any cuts when they saw him at the funeral? TIA

IMO

Ocean

hmmm, that's what it would seem like to me too, Ocean....

Don't hang onto my idea about Danville - when cases go to court I have foudn more often than not - I am wrong. :o

see, i don't think that the place he checked in to, has to necessarily be the same place as the business meeting....he could always say he was tired, & decided to stop for some sleep, THEN head on to the area in VA for the meeting....

Right now I am going to quess the Business meeting was in Blacksburg but he stayed in Danville and when it turns out at trial that I am totally off base everyone can give me a

Who would put a plastic bag with blood covered items on the backseat of an SUV when there is the cargo compartment? I have a SUV, btw, and would never put anything which might cause a stain, mainly because the seats have cloth upholstery. These two stains also seem to be small so I don't think they're connected to Michelle's murder.

I find it interesting however that whatever those spots are - they are consistent in the respect that both are located on the driver's side - rear seat & rear door.

yep yep yep....i find it interesting also...IF it's HIS blood, then he might HAVE been injured/cut during a struggle....got a tad bit of his blood in & on the exterior of the SUV while putting something into the back seat, maybe?

Your guess is as good as any right now! I'm just trying to get some points of reference to figure out how he pulled this off, if he indeed murdered his wife.

One who wants to be not as noticable when dumping something ? One notices the cargo door up on an SUV but seldom does one notice a door being opened or closed JMO.

Yes, I understand what you're saying, but I'd be afraid that the "evidence" would get on the interior of the car which would defeat the purpose. ;)

WTVD's reporter at Six, was flashing aroung a different SUV SW list than what we just saw today. Either that, or I am really going nutz.

#1 on his list was the lap top.

#2 was a receipt from "Precision Tune".

Too bad I don't have Tivo, I could read the whole list.
