TopSail Girl,

I kind of chuckled when I read this. I have a dog that was dropped off (I live in the country) that is definitely part lab and something else, I'm not sure what the something else is. Point is, I thought she was the type that would do as you say - greet at the door with a bit of a growl and then once petted would happily escort you to the valuables.

I believed this until she was confronted by an unusual situation in which she proved that the friendly disposition can disappear extremely quickly. She did not hurt anyone but she definitely made it very clear to them they were not going to hurt anyone and that they were not coming any closer or she would hurt them. (Funny story actually, cops with guns, chased a fellow from a stolen car and they thought he headed toward my place) She put a stop to the big boys in blue with their guns out. I now pity anyone who might think she will not hurt them if they try something, she will, but she is a very sweet dog.
LOL I hope I never have to find out how my lab would act if she were confronted and felt that she or I were threatened. One would hope that she would do anything to keep me safe. LOL

Hi Topsail Girl! Welcome back! Following your thoughts on Jason going to his folks after the meeting, does make sense to me, it has been said that the distance from Va to his parents could be a long trip though and that is where we seem to be stuck- (I'm not quoting, just paraphrasing?)

We don't know if the dog was by Michelle when found (I don't think "we" know) but I honestly didn't even think about bloody paw prints! Now I want to know where was the dog when Meredith arrived to collect the fax? Someone here said the dog was acting odd, but no mention of it's location.
It's great to have some "new insights" because I have been going in circles with the dog and the fax! Thank you for "new eyes"!
I have listened to the 911 call several times and Meredith speaks about the dog freaking out when she arrived. She also mentioned Cassidy's bloody foot prints but said nothing about paw prints. I wonder in the chaos if she just failed to mention it or if there weren't bloody paw prints. I wondered if the dog was kenneled and was about to pop because he needed to go pee and that's why he was freaking out. What started all these thought processes was from reading that the garge door was broken and in a "slightly open" position. The theories abounded about the possibility that it was slightly open on purporse in order for the dog to come and go. My mind started buzzing from there, I think in most part because I have two dogs who are kenneled at night for seeping but free to roam our home at any other time. We do have a doggie door (which was another question brought up) that leads into a fenced in back yard. The Young's back yard was supposedly fenced in according to some posts I've read. Based on the pictures of the garage VS the back yard - I don't see how there could have been a doggie door that would lead to the back yard UNLESS there was a door in the interior of the huse that led to a back patio or deck. See... my mind is going a thousand miles an hour again :waitasec:

OMG, I have never seen a moose up close and can't imagine being chased by one! That's funny (but scary!). My old mutt chases turkey's. Don't know what he would do if he caught one but I would almost bet he'd let it go really fast!

I agree that people are intimidated by dogs. I have had to lock mine up when workmen come into the house- don't know what to do when he learns to open doorknobs.

Well, you're not missing much, they're pretty ugly and scary. But I was actually never afraid of them until I was chased.

The day after I brought my daughter home from the hospital, we were laying in bed getting to know one another, lol, and I looked out my window and there was a momma moose with twin babies that were still wet. They had just been born. They hung out there in a little green belt behind our house for 2 years, so I watched her babies and my baby grow. The babies are gone now, so I don't know if the momma will be back next spring with another baby (or two). It was fun to watch from inside, but I didn't like them hanging around.

Anyway, back on topic, sorry about that.

Wow, I'd never heard that about the garage. It certainly creates more questions. Was it always that way or was it broken that night?

Wow - I am wondering about that garage door - I had not heard, well read, that it was broken and slightly open. I actually watched Greta last night (real rarity for me) and she had pictures - I think you are correct - that garage door does not open to the back yard as it was located to the right of the front door and facing 90 degrees opposite. Jim Hammer indicated that two of the windows on the front of the house were actually in the garage. Hmmm...

Another board that I've been doing some reading states that the garge door was broken. No other information was revealed as to how long it had been broken. The poster who wrote that had one post under his name and that post was the second. I believe the poster has not visited the board under the same poster name since. I do recall on a local news story you could very clearly tell the door was slightly open but I wondered if that might be how Meredith entered. Keep in mind the news footage was after she was discovered dead and police, EMT and investigators had been in and out so one of them could possibly have opened it. (As a matter of fact it was the day that the Assitant DA went to the house.) I would think that would not be the case because of possibly tainting the crime scene. Still if it was really broken then an intruder might have come in the same way...or Jason could have left that way.

I have a link with a basic layout of the house and property that I will try to find and post. It clearly shows the garage to the right of the front door and facing 90 degrees opposite just as you describe. I'll try and hunt the link back up. I will also try and find the page where the poster stated the info about the door being broken.

Here is the link - there's a few different tabs to click on.

http://msweb01.co.wake.nc.us/reales...81818454&page=1

ETA - you can't see the open garage door - just the basic lay out but you can clearly tell where that garge is in relation to the front door. One tab shows a better view of the lot they had. You can't see the trailer park that is behind it.

Great link - thanks TopSail !

Looking at the layout sketch of the house - only two bedrooms both on the second story - wouldn't take much time to find out who was in each room. I also noticed the deck on the back side - I bet you are right - there is probably a couple of doors out of the house on the back side - possibly a large sliding type door at the deck and a conventional door from the garage based on looking at that sketch.

Odd shaped lot but quite large - 1.8 acres so the neighbors definitely were not all that close. Makes me wonder if the police have used search dogs to check out that area. More questions....

More questions...that's the worst part. Another poster pointed out that the house has changed hands 5 times in 15 years and all times were in the spring when the trees would be full of leaves - you couldn't see the trailer park. And that of course leads to the discussion about the neighbor teenager that supposedly might be a suspect according to some. My first thought was that anyone could have walked through the lot from the back and snuck into the house unseen. Whether that was Jason or someone else - more questions....

It's been a pleasure talking with y'all but I must go now - work tomorrow and lots to do before then. Will check in tomorrow

charlie... this is so prejudiced on my part: but the short order that bugs me is as follows:

1. Jason leaving (as reported) 10:30pm for an estimated 5-hr drive. Witnessed by many, with his suitcases.
2. He then books a motel to break the journey.
3. He checks in and calls home at 11 pm
4. That bugs me. 30 minutes out of town and he's stopping over?
5. He arrives at his parents earliest 2 pm (as it was 1:30 when Meredith called 911)
6. He'd called Meredith to collect a fax as JY didn't want MY to see it.
7. It was a 'surprise gift'.
8. We don't know exactly when he had his business meeting; if at all.
9. Family (Internet posts, rather) are saying business in VA and 'swung' by his parents en route there - or home (still to be clarified).
10. His step-dad knew of the death before JY - who fell to the ground.
11. JY's fam travel back with him: all luggage/car impounded.
12. First thing - JY gets top lawyer; comms to LE stop forthwith.
13. Court requires JY to submit DNA samples (etc)
14. Funeral: JY distances himself from LE, MY's family; gives no obit at funeral
15. Vanishes. It's believed Cassidy with him.
16. Rumours abound; nothing is confirmed - hearsay on both sides.
17. MY's family strip all pics of JY off MY's website.
18. LE states JY not a suspect - they do not have a suspect.

It bugs me because I sense a trail of me, myself, I with JY. And God above, forgive me (perhaps experience has put me on auto-pilot...but) I am waiting for 'another female' to emerge. Don't know why, when or how - and aside from their history - I just cannot take my mind off over-done 'save-me' from JY.

Ag. This is no open/shut story, eh?
( I have so tried to keep up)--LOL
has it been stated what time he called sil to pick up fax? and great point about driving 30 minutes, then calling home....

packerdog and Scout - this question may seem frustrating - but it's fair play. IF JY was in a bus meeting - and had travelled all that way - he'd not have interrupted the meeting to sort personal affairs (one would anticipate). A 'good call' was earlier suggested here that if JY was so adamant that MY not see the fax then why not instruct the service provider to hang back until JY was ready to manage the paperwork. Was the fax necessary?

Over and above all this, Cynical Cynthia inside of me returns and asks: Good Lord, he wanted a leather purse? Those are available up to midnight Dec 24: it's not as if he was ordering a Bengal Tiger from the outreaches of Asia. I.e: This was not a critical issue to address then and there - esp given the circumstances he was on a bus trip.

Hmmmm, ... JY has a company to respond to and if his alibi, integrity is not looking right, he's out of a job. Maybe he has more than one reason to 'be sure'.

I have to say , you crack me up PSA, a Bengal Tiger.LOL LOL
