yep, that one (Janet Abaroa) is not even getting the attention this one is, but it was a very brutal crime too. And the husband (raven) is SO guilty on that one, too. I mean, Raven is obviously SO guilty just as Scott Peterson was :(

Have you visited that forum recently. It seems LE has a POI. Interesting they got some 'new leads' and mention a missing laptop from the home. Wonder who that could be???????

Thank you for the link ... I'm still zooming and looking around. I definitely stand correctly on the business trip to VA because that was in the latest news report.

I see what you mean about SW of the house ... trailers. I was looking to the East. I think the suggestion was that Jason had argued with someone from the trailers. It does seem like a bit of distance between the house and the trailers, but maybe it's true.

ok...this is going to sound crazy but....will someone zoom in on the home, so i can be SURE that i've been looking at the correct house????......i see something, but want to make sure i'm at the right 'address'......

someone has mentioned that the "trailer park" isn't necessarily a "park", but more like individual one's on a road.....that's what i'm seeing, but am i at the right home for the Young's?????

I wonder if he perhaps had met someone along his sales route that he became interested in the past three months?

That is, if he has anything to do with this.

I think there are a combination of things here so I'll add a couple - I'm going to try to speak without offending anyone but if I do - please accept my apology in advance. I know I shouldn't go here - no Dr. Rufus but.

I agree, responsibility often equates to money, how well is the family cared for, can my wife and kids have what they need and want, how many toys can I still have and can I have the time and space to enjoy my toys ? That sounds a tad selfish but it really isn't. Boys are raised wanting and needing toys - it doesn't exactly ever go away.

Independence - as boys we are raised a bit more independently - it is a difficult aspect to surrender as it may be directly impacted by the addition of more immediate family. Some men may see the addition of a wife as a wonderful thing but as the children come, the independence and freedoms appear to decrease. Some can handle it, some can't - like everything it is what you make of it.

Strong, independent women are an incredible aphrodisiac IMO - can't speak for other fellows. Generally most aphrodisiacs wane over time however. But problems often can arise if the male ego starts feeling a bit small in comparison or challenged. This however IMO is entirely dependent on the fellow and his own sense of security with himself. Some think they can deal with a strong independent partner but find out too late they cannot. I do know guys that have trouble with their wife making more money than they do. Again, some can handle it, some can not.

Just a couple of thoughts. Don't kill me fella's.
I think you are very smart and insightful- plus being a woman I wouldn't take offense. LOL. (Earlier I said that my husband encouraged me to stay home with the children, but if I had the ability to generate more income he would be HAPPY to stay home and be Mr. Mom!)

Back on topic though... I believe that in this case that Jason could have felt threatened in the relationship, but not by impending fatherhood so much as the thought that if Michelle did want to stay home with the children it could be the end of their social status. (Does that make sense?) In a nutshell maybe he thought this would be an easier way out? (My opinion- not trying to be harsh!)

I tend to think there was a real phone call also. I mean who in this day and age does not know LE check phone records??? Could be part of his alibi.

Remember SP's phone message to Laci on his way home from the Marina? He even called her 'sweetie' I believe.

thanks Topsail....:)

with what the Sheriff said last night, 'that everything is progressing, & they've gathered a lot of evidence'...something should break in this case in the near future??......(maybe that's wishful thinking, though)
You're welcome and Hello . I'm sure hoping something comes up soon. I was thinking since it took them two weeks to process the crime scene it shouldn't be too much longer now. I didn't see the interview with our Sherriff but I can say from knowledge of him (he lives right down the road from me) he LOVES his community and is very involved here. There are many many cases no matter how small or large that he will personally get up in the middle of the night to go to the scene. He's very involved in our county. I want to think he's keeping quiet because he wants to make sure we don't have the same issues as the Duke case - I want to believe that he learned A LOT from the way that case was handled. I'm not totally sure but I do believe Michelle's case has been one of the most heinous/gruesome crimes this county has seen in a long time (going on my short term memory LOL). Sherriff Harrison is a smart man and I do believe that he has his ducks in a row and we will be seeing an arrest soon. Oh and by the way just as a note - there's a local radio station here that does a "Wake County's most wanted". Sherriff Harrison is very involved in that program and has resulted in quite a few people being arrested because of his involvement. I have every belief that he will remain tight lipped until he has enough to arrest and make a solid case against whoever committed this crime.

i think it's crazy advice....OK...get a lawyer, but NOT talk to investigators????
...he lawyered up at the get-go, apparently, but yet he hasn't talked to investigators but once & that was "briefly" on November 3rd.....it's been 14 days now!

That's exactly it. He may have a clue as to who did this and not know it. IMO, that's why he SHOULD be talking to LE. Go ahead, bring the lawyer, that's what he's paid for. But don't shut LE out!

Tell them EVERYTHING you know.

He sounds like quite a good man and good sherriff. Thank you for your local viewpoint!

They just had their 3rd wedding anniversary in October. The person defending Jason on another board (don't even know which one anymore) explained that Jason had purchased a leather purse for the leather third anniversary so we shouldn't question that he didn't want Michelle to see the fax. Seems to me that if Jason missed the anniversary and then bought a purse, it wouldn't matter if she saw it because they already had the discussion about him messing up and not getting an anniversary gift. It is coming up totally bizarre like the LV wallet for Laci, the one she already had but was supposedly a Christmas present.

Do you know if this is the same person who also posted on that forum that it wasn't a fax but instead a computer print out? That part seemed stranger yet to me but I had envisioned a printout with selections of more than one purse because that person said he was getting help deciding which one to buy her from her sister and mother I think.

I couldn't help but chuckle Charlie when you talk about guys and their "toys". :D I love to see my hubby so excited about getting a new boat, ATV, shotgun or the latest new fang-dangle riding lawn mower (which I am buying him for Christmas). I think he deserves anything he wants within reason and he is a very reasonable man.

Dont ever think us girls dont like our "toys" either. :D We just have a tendency to do it a little along all through the year than a major purchase at one time.

But you are right, if the guy feels left out of the overall family unit some do not adjust well to that and I cant say that I blame them. I have seen many a man put on the back burner and vice versa.

I think times have changed some though and men are more comfortable if their wife should make more income which is still rare but is happening more than it use to...

My hubby and I have never been competitors, vying for first place.

Glad you chuckled - you know its true :) . Lawn mowers, especially tractor types, are always great ! I have to say I get quite amused with my wife when she gets one of her toys, she tries to be so calm about it in front of me, but then when her girl friends come over it is like a house full of clacking hens ! Cracks me up !

Not trying to excuse any of these problems, but I do think that things, opinions and views as well, have changed a great deal and there are new stresses developing all the time. While society believes it is progressing, sometimes that progress is entirely too stressful in the end as our basic instinctual makeup still exists and in some cases cannot be overcome.

One thing I have wondered about is, it does seem as though there is an increase in violent deaths for pregnant women, is it really an increase or do we just hear about it more because of technological changes ? I know someone here has an idea of where to find the stats. It would be interesting to look back over several decades to see. I hope not, but somehow I believe it may very well be true.

LOL....i've only been here, & i lurk at CTV from time to time, but i'm aware this case is being discussed all over the place ... (crime boards/news sites)

i tried to go to two other boards...i think the links were poste here, back on the 1st thread; not sure...i kept getting errors & just gave up, so it's here & ctv.....

I think many of us wondered what it was about Laci's case that grabbed our attention. Speculations covered everything from family pleading for help and media coverage to the timing of her disappearance. Here is another case that is grabbing people's attention and it wasn't the media that took the first step nor the timing. It is the forum posters that grabbed on to this one, the media that follows. The thing that seems to have caught people's attention is that a man may have murdered his pregnant wife and it looks like it may be difficult to prove. I realize I've half convicted the guy in my mind, but I haven't seen anything from him that makes me want to think him innocent. Not one word from him, which speaks volumes.

I read at CTV in the beginning and I've skimmed the bickering on a couple of other boards. I prefer the sleuthing to the diametrically opposed camps. Good to see you again, by the way.

I zoomed it in for you. I did check against the link TopSail posted and checked the pictures versus the roof line and the deck description versus the photo so I am pretty sure this is it. I don't think it will get any closer. If you have google earth (which I don't) you can bring it in further.

How far along was Liana when he killed her?

I dont know... if he was with a software company that sold to medical departments he could have made major bucks. He may have even worked more than one state. Sales people that sell anything connected to the medical profession usually have a high income.

I think they probably both had good salaries and could afford most of what they wanted within reason of course. It is sad... they seemed to be the typical all American family.

Liana's Pregnancy: "Police say the fact they don't know exactly how a four-months pregnant Edmonton woman died doesn't weaken their homicide investigation."

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26672&page=1&pp=25&highlight=liana

Websleuther Jess is just fantastic at updating the trial notes. It's much appreciated because the news links disappear after a short time. Looks like Liana was about the same as Michelle, who I think was 16 - 18 weeks pregnant. I double checked and Liana's daugher Ashley was 3.

Because of the location of the trailers, I assumed that the Young's home was the one with the looping driveway and the garage as a separate building. Okay, I'm going from memory so I'll go back and check, but that's what I thought.

Wait a minute, looking at the profile of the house, isn't it the one on the east side of the road with the car in the driveway? When I zoom in, I go a little north and then the red dot shows up again. Aren't the trailers on the west side of the road?

Hmm if I am looking at it right. I dont understand why Jim Hammer and Mike Brooks said it was like a dense forest behind the house. The trees dont seem to be very dense where you couldn't see into their backyard imo.

yikes...i had the wrong house.....

i've been looking at this one...it appears to have a fenced in back yard...

Me too, now, based on the top view and how the house looks from the front, isn't it this one:

http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn....C+27606-9360&ALon=-78.6999990&ALat=35.7051710
This is where I was looking at first and why I didn't see the trailer park ... just the forest.
